  1. That's really sad. I was 100% certain he was going to have an impact year. He is going to lead the parade out of town this summer.
  2. I think Ott is just taking the lightning bolt for the team. Deflecting the criticism away from the younger players.

I don't know if it is BS, but it sure seems like supposition.. I would imagine many GMs are accused of setting a price to high. (speaking of supposition, pot meet kettle).
  4. I don't think I have looked at the schedule since the beginning of the season. The remaining games are tough but 7 of 10 are in Buffalo: Buffalo 7H, 3A Tue Apr 9, 2013 Sabres Jets Thu Apr 11, 2013 Canadiens Sabres Sat Apr 13, 2013 Flyers Sabres Sun Apr 14, 2013 Lightning Sabres Wed Apr 17, 2013 Sabres Bruins Fri Apr 19, 2013 Rangers Sabres Sat Apr 20, 2013 Sabres Penguins Mon Apr 22, 2013 Jets Sabres Fri Apr 26, 2013 Islanders Sabres Rangers remaining 4H, 5A Wed Apr 10, 2013 Maple Leafs Rangers Sat Apr 13, 2013 Rangers Islanders Tue Apr 16, 2013 Rangers Flyers Thu Apr 18, 2013 Panthers Rangers Fri Apr 19, 2013 Rangers Sabres Sun Apr 21, 2013 Devils Rangers Tue Apr 23, 2013 Rangers Panthers Thu Apr 25, 2013 Rangers Hurricanes Sat Apr 27, 2013 Devils Rangers Isles remaining 3H, 6A Tue Apr 9, 2013 Flyers Islanders Thu Apr 11, 2013 Islanders Bruins Sat Apr 13, 2013 Rangers Islanders Tue Apr 16, 2013 Panthers Islanders Thu Apr 18, 2013 Islanders Maple Leafs Sat Apr 20, 2013 Islanders Jets Tue Apr 23, 2013 Islanders Hurricanes Thu Apr 25, 2013 Islanders Flyers Fri Apr 26, 2013 Islanders Sabres Each team plays head to head, Rangers and Isles have one back-to-back and Bufalo has two. Isles will be playing their B2B against Buffalo to end the season and it's on the road.

    A+ QFT QED TINALO
  6. This will be a tough one to watch. Winnipeg will skate circles around them tonight. If there is a W in the offing, it will have to be stolen. This is not a great matchup on the best of days and Sabres teams.
  7. :w00t: Anger issues?
  8. Buffalo has shown under Pegula that they will make and take a gamble. They tried to lure ALL of last seasons largest FA prizes here. I suspect that they will do the same this summer. This team will be better next year. I believe that or I want to believe that. Will they contend, I'm not sure. They're still too small but changes are coming. Trading Pominville was a clear sign that they're not going to sit back. I fully expect Vanek to be traded on draft day. You can see this coming from a mile away.
  9. I accept them for what they are, the Varsity Amerks. I enjoyed watching them. I have tempered my expectations. Watching them steal a W from Jersey was enough for me. Reading anything more into last night is just silly.
  10. Reading this thread you would swear the Sabres lost last night.
  11. Only your mind could piece this analogy together... :P
  12. So back to the thread, how about a shoot out line up of Ennis, Gerbe and Ott? Ennis looked like it was is first ever attempt, Ott acted like a bull in a china shop and the diminutive one calmly scorches the Hockey Hall of Famer.
  13. Nice and concise
  14. I figured that was what happened to you. The challenge of only two transactions makes the choice to use them a very high risk, high regret decision. I'm "stuck" with Crosby on my roster. Can't tell you the number of times I've almost dropped him the last two weeks. Those weasels in Pittsburgh aren't saying enough to indicate whether he'll play before the playoffs. Keeping my fingers crossed that he shows up later this week, even though my gut tells me he is shut down untll the first round, at least. He'll probably be on the waiver wire mid week, depending on how I'm doing.
  15. Watch it. It wasn't so much that they couldn't get it out, as it looked like they were totally incompetent. They would wack at the puck and it would go straight onto a Jersey stick. Other times they would hit it and it would go six inches or overskate it. Porter got caught out there for the 4 minutes. He knocked down his check to end the 4m stretch with a penalty. He was in the box for about 10 seconds before Jersey scored. It's not my personality to boo my team, but even I was yapping at my TV during that stretch.
  16. 1, 2, and 4 seed knocked out of opening round. Having OV now looks like a huge difference maker for the Ruffians. Somehow, Bergs alive without Crosby. Thanks go to Emery for that shutout. It allowed me to lock up all four goalie categories.
  17. So what's the remedy? Awarding a goal, I suppose. That would go into the category of something I've never seen before. Has anyone? The Amerks are competing in two leagues right now. It is such lonnnng odds that if this team did surge enough to gain a playoff spot, they would be the team no one would want to face in the first round. Not likely, but it's why we watch. It came through the TV loud and clear. There were two stretches where the Sabres couldn't get the puck out of their end. Two long stretches, like 4m stretches. It was agonizing to watch, let alone pay for.
  18. How times have changed, Ennis, Gerbe and Ott taking the shots. That sure doesn't instill confidence
  19. No consolation, but Buffalo had the better of the play in OT
  20. Come on Buffalo, NJ played last night.
  21. I hate how passive the Sabres are on the PK. Attack the puck carrier instead of just watching them
  22. This 3rd has been agonizing.. Now another high stick and PK
  23. Ugh.. Offensive zone penalties are brutal..
  24. You have got to be kidding me!!!!
