So Obama goes out of his way to say ISIL and his henchmen, mouthpieces and cronies all say ISIS. The press says ISIS. What is the nuance here and why does the President always say ISIL?

Maybe the lawyers on here can opine, but that doesn't sound like being lied to, that sounds like outright fraud.

Great expectations: how do you see the year unfolding?

or... he refuses to do the GM's bidding. Which I think we all agree is very likely. Tim needs a tank this year, and he needs it bad.- 31 replies

Unlike what happened last year? I know this is unthinkable to many on here, but it makes sense to me. Ted must go. If Tim really wants to own this team, he needs to get rid of his inherited coach.- 31 replies

He's not Tim's guy. The fact that he hired him is more a matter of not upsetting the apple cart too soon. He is PLF's coach/friend and as a result, he has to go. My take is Tim forced PLF out and now he will set his sights on his coach. A bad team doesn't get better by firing the coach mid season. They get worse. Tim is just now putting his stamp on this franchise and TN doesn't fit.- 31 replies

1. He is not Tim's guy 2. He will try to win 3. He won't win 4. He will be made the scape goat 5. His firing will allow the tank to continue 6. Tim can install his guy- 31 replies

I think EJ was a product of a powerhouse program that covered up a lot of his short comings. When you level the playing field or tilt it, he gets exposed for what he is.

I don't know where to drop this, so it might as well be here: This Thursday, 4 September, make all your dreams come true... JOBS: How would you like to work at First Niagara Center? Open job interviews for housekeeping, security, parking attendants, and utility personnel will be conducted Thursday from 2-7pm at First Niagara Center.

I believe Canadian cities would more routinely support a team, regardless of city size. I think hockey is beyond saturated in the US. The only city I would guess, and it is just a guess, is Cleveland.

Those comments at the end had me laughing.

If it needs to be balanced, it should be Saskatoon and Quebec City. The next two should be Canadian teams.

I agree with this. It is a play for resources and Ukraine has three: warmer water ports. food and a border with NATO.

Cohen got cut. That's a shame. I didn't see much of the preseason, but what I did see, I liked of him.

I don't get the Moorman cut... someone please 'splain it to me

So Bon Jovi is out. He did not have enough cash to be a majority owner and get into a bidding war. The Rogers group is going to be adding more coin to their bid.

The wheels on the bus go round and round all through the town. Manuel-Orton-Tuel.. Now that should strike fear into someone, some where, some time I guess we should be grateful that Watkins didn't come out of the preseason with turf toe or a hammy. That was what I was expecting.

I find it interesting that the first place Obama went internationally when he became President was to Egypt where he delivered his "we can all get along speech". Flash forward to his reality: Egypt, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Israel, Palestine, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, and Nigeria. Probably not what he hoped he would be dealing with when he gave his hopeful and yes we can speeches. I guess the Obama doctrine of "don't do stupid $hit" wasn't recognized or honored by the rest of the world. Who would have believed that at the end of his term, Iraq would be more broken and more dangerous than when he started?

Nah. They go 1-3 and then start to win a few. Then the road games begin to eat at their W-L record. They get a late surge when they are not mathematically eliminated. And then the unthinkable, but wholly believable happens: they play a turd game to turn out the lights. They finish with 6 wins.

I was completely unaware that there was a football game last night. That shows my level of apathy toward this team. I remember getting excited for 1p on Sunday. Now I am caught by surprise that they even played the night before. Looking over the box score and write ups it seems like this was a total waste of a game and Watkins is on his way to the moniker of "oft injured'. The write up describe Palmer as a disaster (not surprising considering he just got here) and that the Lions beat the Bills with their waiver-wire bench. The fourth or in this case 5th pre-season game is such a joke. All Buffalo accomplished this preseason is to stir up the fans. I am going to be on a plane for the opener, so that is probably a mercy kill. Opening day prediction: Chicago 45, Buffalo 6

I went with the Q and other. My other would be Nova Scotia.

I wanted Buffalo to draft Jimmy G. Not surprised New England took him.

Both the Sabres and Bills will be out of it by Thanksgiving. And then the long winter settles in.

So Branch gets a 3.1M signing bonus he gets to keep after signing a contract in December, skips all the off season voluntary stuff and ends up getting cut 8 months later. That is my definition of a broken system.

Here is where I stand: my gut tells me EJ is a bust, my heart hopes it is not so and my brain says let it play out a bit.
