  1. You should always be able to get two starts per week. The question is, do you get two quality starts per week. You just have to pay attention. Miller would get a rest every now and then, Enroth would start. It was never a quality start, but it counted.
  2. I have a feeling in the twitter world we now live in, the "worst is yet to come" will be redefined every year. We know way too much, way too fast about things these days.
  3. Buffalo did all the things necessary to win a game yesterday: 1. Blocked a kick 2. Kickoff return for a TD 3. Timely sacks 4. Knocked opposing running back out of game 5. Covered in the secondary 6. Held a lead 7. Held Miami without a sack 8. No turnovers 9. Turned the ball over 10. Held serve at home
  4. So now everyone is rushing in to arm the Kurds and whomever they can find as opposition in Syria. What could possibly go wrong? I don't know what the answer is, but it seems to me the political short term answer is to litter the battlefield with guns and bullets. I don't think the long term consequence of littering the battlefield with all those guns is ever thought through. And eventually, they end up in the wrong hands and the cycle starts anew. Is it lost on the current Administration that the current terror campaign and its signature moments are not being waged with guns but rather a single knife? Sure they have executed tons of folks with guns, but what events have the world attention and what instrument are they using?
  5. 2-0 Buffalo Bills
  6. I went in thinking I was getting a few points. Not the case. Buffalo closed a one point favorite.
  7. Found myself in a Nevada casino. Gave the point and picked the Bills. Me likely.
  8. Shame on Rice. Shame on the NFL Shame on the Ravens but.... Shame on the Prosecutor and Judge that let him walk for song.
  9. Just finished watching the Meet the Press interview with President Obama. I am struck by how defeated he looks as a President. Gone is the bravado exhibited during the 2008 campaign. He really does strike me as a man riding his last wave onto the beach. He stated he wasn't good at the optics. I think this is more a statement of the second term B team. Gone are the A team that got him elected and the slick PR campaign they managed. The current henchman, all second choice people are just not as good as what he had. And it shows in this President and every 2-term Presidents in my lifetime.
  10. Sorry... watch meaning going to the Game Center and watching it update after each play.
  11. Thanks. Without context, it seemed bizzaro. I wish he trusted his team to play some smash mouth football and take a couple of rushes from the 1. But, I'll gladly take the win.
  12. I missed the first half. I watched the second half on NFL.com. So I didn't see any of it. Can some explain to me the logic of the last couple plays of the game before the game winning FG? 1st and goal from the one, EJ kneels 2nd and goal from the three, a delay of game penalty Then the FG. What kind of play calling is that?
  13. What are they doing? What kind of play calling is that, there? W.. I'm shocked. And New England is in last place after week 1
  14. Wow!!! I'm stunned
  15. Ugh.. Really conservative play calling there.
  16. So far the taste of crow is delicious.
  17. I base my Week 1 doom prediction on the following: 1. A QB that hasn't show even close to big game, big moment ability. The closest he came was the Carolina game last year. 2. A rookie RT and a rookie second string RT 3. A rookie WR that hasn't had a chance to mesh with QB and is sporting some tender ribs. Thank God for Woods. 4. A team that will try to run constantly, dump screens to RB/TE or throw six yard patterns most of the time. 5. A very vulnerable secondary against Jefferies and Marshall 6. A road game 7. Matt Forte
  18. It is true that Begin and Sadat and Carter will be linked in history for brokering a peace agreement that has lasted. But Carter has so much other baggage like oil embargo, interest rates (19%), that debacle in the desert, hostages, etc that he will never be judged favorably. He was a knee jerk reaction to Nixon and should never have been elected. IMO.
  19. Congratulations!!! Is that found in the appetizers or entrees? :-)
  20. late first, early second.. If you have back-to-back picks maybe Ville and Vanek...
  21. Bills are going to get crushed. They will be embarrassed off the field. I said earlier and I stand by it 45-6. If I am wrong, I will be the first to admit. I can't see the scenario where they can compete in this game. They have not been even close to a respectable road team these last 5-10 years. I was very vocal when they hired Marrone. I saw nothing that he did that deserved a head coaching position. I remember calling him a 'bargain bin' coach and took flack from some on here for that. He installed a hurry up offense with two rookie QBs. That is so absurd. I think he should stay through the end of the season and then he should lead the hit parade out of town.
  22. Then why doesn't his Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and Press Secretary call it ISIL? Interesting that the internet is full of stories about why. One goes that ISIS includes his two big foreign policy blunders in Syria and Iraq. ISIL hides that under the term Levant. Another says Levant includes Israel and he is out for their destruction. There are more. Maybe only I care, but every White House is about messaging. I find this splinter intriguing.
  23. First bolded: Agreed. Half of me wants these guys to threaten the wealthy emirates and states like Saudi, Oman, UAE and Kuwait. These are the folks who should be spilling their blood to protect their wealth and way of life. Second bolded: That's what I thought when she ran six years ago. I agree she is the team to beat. And I agree that the bumbling, stumbling but never humbling Republicans don't have a candidate with enough charisma to win some of the women, Hispanic and Black vote. They'll roll out some bigot surrogate that will say women should earn less than men and should be baby factories. They'll also blow the immigration issue talking to their party base and not the uber electorate. Third bolded: I think we learned in the first Obama campaign that the bridge to nowhere was in Alaska.
  24. I agree with this comment.
  25. I believe everything that the President says has purpose (I am not debating whether you agree with it or not). There is a reason he says ISIL and everyone else in his administration says ISIS. As I asked originally, what is the nuance here? I reject completely that this is lazy. His written and spoken words are constantly vetted and changed when necessary. So what is the purpose?
