Not quite a draft day subject, but part of the overall philosophy. We need to stop wasting ice time on old guys getting big bank, and start using the time on younger guys. We are missing a valuable opportunity for those younger guys to gain useful experience at the NHL level. The best thing about this decision would be at least young players can improve. I don't care how much Okposo is making, he's out, he does nothing except take ice time from younger players. Staal? make him a coach FFS. Start playing Casey, Tage, Asplundh etc. What the hell is Irwin in the lineup for? We finally gave a young guy like Bryson a chance, and he actually wants to play! Stick them in and let them sink or swim. PS: there is nothing worse than watching Big Bank guys playing out the string!

What the hell has this staff been teaching these guys for a 1 1/2 years. They don't even exercise basic tactics out there.

1. Get another goaltender with NHL experience. 2. Add size and physicality at 2-3 spots especially defense. 3. Add more speed whenever possible.

Waste of time unless its to fire Ralph. Who wants to hear him support the coach.

When things go the way they have(poorly);players start asking themselves questions about getting out it. One of them is usually, does the coach have a track record of improving the club and he knows what to do? We know the answer, then it gets down to dwindling hope that there is a first time for everything.

Does it bother you guys to see and hear our players in interviews right now? They look like they’re towing the party line using coach speak terms like “Connection”, “you beat structure with structure”, etc. They also look like they’re not sure they believe what they’re saying. I would further add that in my experience that being connected 5-5 in all 3 zones and having a team structure( a proper one- not everyone above the puck even when you have it) just makes you competitive (it's required). It’s pretty hard to out connect or out structure the opponent. This philosophy ignores transition, turnovers, creating chaos by pressure and gaining the initiative, and capitalizing on broken plays (of which much of the game involves). Even teams like the Islanders who are connected and thought of as very structured; capitalize and win games by the above tactics. Our players have such bad passive habits right now I bet other teams are laughing at the incompetence. Building your structure of a team should start with the habits and skills possessed by your players. This was not the approach, it was the reverse. Ralph has severely damaged many of our players, and he will damage others like Cozens given time. He must go immediately.

I agree 100% we also must get an experienced, veteran NHL man to oversee everything. The GM/Coach need to be attached at the hip accountabliity wise

Wonder what these two teams would like if coaching staffs were switched at the start of the season? I'm guessing there would be a lot of movement in the opposite directions from where they are now.

Is there any doubt we are watching one of the best coached teams against one of the worst?
