  1. PP on the perimeter only. No traffic in front by the first unit. They need to fix that.
  2. Hope youโ€™re wrong. I can handle hockey and summer things (golf, travel, and baseball). Go Sabres!
  3. I love this kind of A game. Been waiting all day for this one. Lets go out there and get this game boys. MUSCLE WEIGHT
  4. Always great to hear Ted. We lucked out with Ted and RJ. Two of the best ever.
  5. At first I gave this a laugh, then I watched it. Anderson ruined it.
  6. Jumping the gun a bit here. Mitts is on a good stretch that we all hope can continue, but he promotion to 1C is driven by many factors, including his good play. He is in the 1C role because Tage is hurt and DG jumbled things up in an effort to get 2 lines going. The kids that played on the Cozens line are being sheltered and now on the 3rd line. Good to see Mitts rise to the occasion. Krebs has not given up. He is playing in his first full season, he is close to being a rookie without being one. His offensive production is down from most expectations but his role and the play of his wingers have something to do with that. His point total for a 4C is better than any totals put up by more experienced 4C's such as Larsson and Lazar. I never saw Krebs as a better raw talent than Mitts btw. Krebs has work to do to get stronger and to improve his shot.
  7. Thanks for the info on Toronto and Minnesota, I did not know that burning a year of ELC is "how is it done" today. Another nice perk for the NCAA guys. As for why he might pass. I sure don't know why he might pass, I also think that it is entirely possible that Adams could take a position that drives Johnson to pass on Buffalo, and then acquire the 2nd round compensatory pick.
  8. If he passes on Buffalo it is not the current team, it is the look of the last 10 years or something else about the team or the City. I am surprised he is not signed yet, but the whole business of signing him now and burning a year of ELC is not great for the Sabres. Why would he rush to sign him now? Next week makes more sense.
  9. The Sabres can only control their game. Beat the Rangers. Would love to get another road win. I expect to see Levi in the net again tonight.
  10. Krebs already has had two better point total seasons than Larsson ever had. He is less stout than Larsson but a better offensive player. Certainly worth another season to see what he can do. I like his scrappy team first style.
  11. Exactly. We are playing 4 games in 5 days starting tomorrow. He wont be ready right away.
  12. There is a good chance he could be better. But not very likely in his first NHL game.
  13. Yes, but I would think it depends on the draft pick and the alleged 4D. Adams has stated that the rest if the NHL knows what we have in the prospect pool, which is probably a disadvantage for him. It seemed to be in the Chykrun deal.
  14. Even if he signed right now he should not play in a Sabres games until and IF we get eliminated. I hope he signs and has a nice career for us.
  15. Yes. Your are correct. I am basing a lot of this on the @tom webstercomments in this response to you. I could care less about the AHL playoff thing as well. My point is most prospects need the AHL. And you have been one of the most fair and patient with Mitts.
  16. Agree. Check my earlier posts, I was hard on him because I want the "banger" and I want someone on this team that will hold other teams knuckleheads accountable. I did not know he was playing injured either. The past 3 to 4 games he is looking like a better hockey player. If Granato can help his game in the same manner he has with the rest of the players on this team then he will be a useful player that adds a dimension we need.
  17. If only people learn and progress at a predictable and linear rate. They don't, there are always ups and downs, and starts and stops - and for athletes there are injuries and fatigue to manage on top of the learning. I am not so concerned about how they did in the AHL regular season versus the playoffs. I am just advocating for the time in the AHL. Adams knew from the start that neither were ready so they both played key roles in Rochester. Adams brought in JAGs, not veteran "blockers", to hold down the fort until they were ready. Quinn started slower than JJP this season, but he quickly caught up and passed him (IMO) as the season went on. As we saw yesterday, against a top team filled with veterans, and in a playoff type of game, they both were stapled to the bench in the 3rd period. Both finished -2 and both played about 10 minutes total. Next year that probably wont happen. None of the die hard fans here are calling them busts. Can the same be said for Mitts who was thrust into a 2C role after the ROR trade when he was not even close to being ready? Between rushing Mitts, and his obvious lack of physical strength at the time, many here called him a bust and called for him being traded right up until these last few months. My point is that the AHL season for Quinn and Peterka was important and beneficial.
  18. You are one of my favorite posters here, but I must say you are going a bit overboard here. I get your point, but the emphasis is not correct. Playing in the AHL has little value for some prospects, and those prospects are few and far between. Most prospects need the AHL to fine tune their game as their bodies mature. Most prospects cannot make a top 8 team in the NHL straight out of Juniors at 18/19, only the top few draft choices in a given year can jump right in. Recent examples: Owen Power could jump right in. Jack Quinn could not. Matt Savoie could not.
  19. Of course it carried over. What were you expecting from him in his first NHL year? He made the team in part because our GM left spots open for rookies to play. He gets sheltered shifts because his true readiness is borderline. You saw that yesterday This talk about playing AHL games does not help player development is nonsense. If Peterka was in the Bruins organization he probably would be in the AHL, maybe getting some bottom 6 NHL looks.
  20. You are wrong on the relevancy of the game yesterday. They are still in it but with some very low odds. The games this week are important for other reasons too.
  21. The Islanders rolling over Flyers 3 -0, after 2. We need both Isles and Pens to lose a game.
  22. None of those players are special. Ullmark might win a Vizena with Boston but he wasnโ€™t showing that for us. Carrier is a good grinder. Compher a good grinder plus. Borgen is McCabe, an ok player.
