I am tired of the "don't want to spend the money bullcrap" with this team. We once had great TV and Radio coverage back when everybody, in every job within the organization, made way less money. If money is the reason then get guys that can do justice to both TV and radio. I am tired of settling for whatever we get with this team. Bigger than that, I am tired of the lower standards that have become a part of our world today.

I think DD is terrible at PBP. He gives us no sense of puck position. He doesn’t consistently say who has the puck and where. He is late to the action. In other words, he barely does the job. I have ESPN+ so I can listen to other teams broadcasts. Dan is less than mediocre. We should expect more given the rich broadcasting and PBP history of the franchise.

What are our top tradeable assets really worth?
Pimlach replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Way back when I was not at all sad to see Turgeon traded. Why? Even though he could put up points but I did not like his game and he seemed to disappear in the playoffs. I was happy to see him traded for LaFontaine who was both skilled and plucky. You have been on record for a long time as questioning Dahlin's ability to be great. Trade Dahlin? We could maybe get a great 1C and a few other good players and hope for Power and Byram to full the void. I know you have never really cared for Dahlin but what is it about his game that is bothering you? -

Interesting take. I would be surprised if Krebs alone brings in a pleasant surprise, I want you to be right on this. I still see him as a guy that gets packaged in a trade. -

I think you missed my point. Talking about prospect value is certainly fine. My point is trying to figure out what each minor league or junior league prospect is worth singularly is kind of a waste of time because we won't get a proven NHL player from trading just Rosen, or just Kulich. I think the road ahead is probably more likely to require packaging a combination of player/prospect/pick for top NHL talent. Like when we traded Eichel and Reinhart and we got multiple pieces back. This time we trade trade multiple pieces for a known NHL commodity. -

They need to bring in players that make an immediate impact and they need to do it now. What each prospect is worth individually is not the most important factor. The Sabres have a lot of prospects and the longer they keep them the more the other teams can scout them, often diminishing their value from the position they were drafted at. Adams should be packaging players, prospects, and picks for proven NHL players with tire on the tread. They have been doing the opposite long enough. If they have to theoretically "overpay" so what, all of these forward prospects cannot be on the team at one time anyway. -
Well you should expect it because at least 2 will be around next season. Now if the Sabres do make some big trades this off season then then I could see one of them going.

It is also a sign of a strong top 9. Nothing wrong with 4th lines, the better teams roll them a lot. He could be 4th line and first PK and be effective.

Traveling and staying in a hotel for more than 2 nights. One is no problem, two is ok. I have 3 more nights to go for a total of 5. Blah. I miss my bed, my yard, my guitars, my golf clubs, and my man cave …

Good to hear that Genny is still solid and doing well. Don't love the beer, but its ok. Being a boomer, I grew up on Genny and Genny Cream (we called it Green Death). We didn't have all the wonderful craft beers of today back then. A few years ago, quite a few years ago actually, my son and I went to visit my nephew at RIT. We went to the House of Guitars and then to the Genny Brewery for fresh Genny and a nice sandwich for lunch. They had a Pale Ale that was only available on the premises that day. It was really good and a great day overall.

This tweet is incomplete and misleading. There was 7 years, and 4 other coaches, between Rolston and Appert. Granato never coached the Amerks. Rochester Coaches since Rolston: Ron Rolston, 2011–13 Chadd Cassidy, 2013–2015 Dan Lambert, 2016–2017 Chris Taylor, 2017–2020 Gord Dineen, 2019 Seth Appert, 2020–2024

Headline: Wookie maims Generational Talent at NHL Scouting Combine

Exactly. I care more about losing good players like ROR, Eichel, Reinhart, Montour, Ullmark, etc., and being stuck in rebuild mode. I am sick of losing, and sick of the acceptance of losing, and sick of the way 40 years of respectability have been washed away.

My question was "far better". I think they are still close in talent and skill. Quinn has more of a scoring touch and is to me the more instinctive player. JJP has a powerful and grittier side to his game, which is something we really need. I don't see Quinn as grittier or more competitive, but he is more instinctive and he sees the game in front of him. The key is him staying healthy. If he does, we have a top 6 forward that can score and create. I see him as a notch better than Perterka when healthy. He sees the game better than most. Pitiful on Adams for letting this happen, especially when he saw very early on that the team needed something and last year was the "in it to win" year. Cozens problems had much more to do with his own maturity and inability to handle pressure than with who was on his line. Sure, he missed Quinn, but he needs to put on the big boy pants this season. Ditto. I will give him a break due to the circumstances of being on team with poor leadership. Actually the poor leadership goes beyond the team, to the the coaches, and the FO.

So you think Quinn is far better than Peterka?

2024 Stanley Cup Final - Edmonton vs Florida
Pimlach replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
McDermott has officially challenged Knoblock to a wrestling match. Winner takes all. -
Landed in Houston today. Too many people, too much traffic, and terrible weather. It is 92 F with a Dew point of 78, so it feels like 102 F - on June 4th. Yuck!

Brady will hate going to Buffalo at first. His father would hate it too. His brother would rib him mercilessly. If the team were to get good next season and start winning, and if arena will ever be filled with actual Sabres fans once again, then he might change. He would like a "Sabres Mafia" type of fan base, but that might take awhile to get. He has no control over it though.
-
Fair. But I still feel the "if only" feeling on that lottery. McDavid is clearly the better player over Eichel, and McDavid just always seemed to be more mature and focused, even as a teenager. Would have loved him to be a Sabre for life. That doesn't mean the Sabres under Pegula would have turned out any better, Eichel was good enough to build around and they massively failed in that endeavor. As for Florida winning. I already stated they look better and I like their game. But I just do not want to see Florida win, in anything. It is time for a Canadian city to bask in the glory.

I just had a dream that the Sabres won the Stanley Cup

Holy Rapid Eye Movement Batman. This isn't a dream, its a full length feature film. -
I like Florida better when I look at the teams and the way they play. I like Florida better when I look at the uni's. I don't really care about Reinhart, Montour, Okposo and the rest. I don't want Florida to get a Cup before Buffalo. I am fine to let Canada get one. Let's Go McOilers! I guess.

Good point on the Cup final in June. While it is still followed closely in Canada, most in the USA have turned their thoughts to baseball, golf, backyard barbeques, boating and swimming, kids home from school, and summer vacations.
