Big boy for his age. 6'6". Should look good in 5 to 6 years for the Sabres given Goalie development time I reckon. Not unhappy with this pick, seems to be decent.

Rather surprised at the lack of trades, even to move up or down via picks. Does this indicate GM's are valuing 1st rd picks for their own internal team building process? When listening to Botterill's interview, appears the Sabres inquired about moving up, and trading 31 for a current player in a deal but none of that came to fruition. I am now wondering about players like Zucker and such, what will it take to trade for players if picks aren't in the packages from this draft? Next years draft picks maybe as currency in trades?

I don't know about gutsy, just makes sense given our needs and other teams.

Everyone outside of Philly keeping their 1st rd pick so far, and all Philly did was move up. Interesting.

Not a whiff of Buffalo in trade talks during the draft so far...……………………...that 31st pick has to be a needle mover for someone. Minnesota perhaps and Zucker?

I don't know, I like him, if for no other reason than for 20 years I've heard every fan base across the league boo the ***** out of him on draft day ? So, he is like the fan whisperer in that regard, bringing us all together for 1 day a year ?

Zucker for 31 and a B prospect for line 2 LW? Ferland in FA for line 3 winger for Mitts? Need a line 2 Center? Would that be considered an improved forward ranks move for the off season if you look at Olofsson / Nylander up?

Maybe, but we don't know what Mitts will or won't be as of yet and Risto we already know what he is. Kapanen, yea top 6 RW, but Kadri and Brown aren't just 3rd liners, they're 2 very good 3rd liners. I'd give up possibility for the known to start winning some to be sure, but I understand why some wouldn't as well. Unless Botterill acts, he could lose the advantage when it comes to risto, some of these talks being rumored will bare fruit. Both Toronto and Carolina getting better serves nothing for the Sabres, and a trade like the one mentioned does that for both.
