While I understand completely, my point on 10 to 12 mil being premature is, in my most humbled opinion mind you, premature. We have 2 more seasons to see where Dahlin is projecting, it's much to early, in once again, my most humble opinion, before we pencil in 10 to 12 million. Once again, respectfully. My point being, we can cross that bridge, and that's a rather huge bridge with those numbers given existing rookie season performance, when we get to it. No reason to base it on his draft position, let's take the remaining 2 seasons and see what we actually have.

I understand your thought process here, but the original post projected 10 to 12 million. This isn't Eichel's case where 3 years have passed and we know what we have. Give me some credit for looking at the OP and questioning it based on some common sense now. I didn't see 10 to 12 million in the rookie season, he originally posted that was his projection, I heavily questioned that, and, in all honesty, rightfully so. Let us not get ahead of ourselves here, to date, there is 0, yes 0, indication Dahlin will achieve that status. That was based on "projecting based on draft position", and that, is being honest.

Dahlin 10 to 12 mil? Where on earth are you getting those numbers from? Because honestly, in his rookie season, I'm seeing a D man 2nd contract at 6 to 8 million. He didn't win the Calder, he wasn't anywhere nears an impact that warrants those numbers, and while, yes, he has HUGE upside potential, until he truly shows it, IF he ever does, then we can talk those numbers, but as of right now, today, 1st pick over all or not, he is NOT worth 10 to 12 million.

Sekera being bought out. I would not mind him on a 2 yr x 1.5 mil deal. He's injury prone but as a 3rd pairing LHD I'd be happy very with that.

I think they're both gone to be honest. You don't bring in an RHD to move an LHD I am guessing. But I believe your on firm ground with your comment. Would be nice if Botterill could move Risto, Scandella and Nylander (I just don't see Nylander unseating Olofsson or CJ Smith for a roster spot, and after 3 seasons, he needs a fresh scene, just my take is all) for a 2nd line center and LW'er that are worthy assets I'd be estatic.

Well, if they keep Risto and run with Risto, Montour and Miller on the right, that's not horrible I guess.

I don't think everyone supports it, well, ok, maybe many have, but in a few cases such as myself, we are looking at addressing that 2nd line C and W needs. FA should be able to help out the bottom 6. I just don't want to see Mitts put in the 2C position this coming season, the kid is going to be good, but I'd like him sheltered for a couple 3 years.

We are defensemen heavy. Another move is coming down the pipeline, and my fingers are OH SO CROSSED it's Ehler's from Winnipeg for Risto. I honestly believe both Scandella and Risto are out of here.

I'm not fond of Mittelstadt at 2C at all. As a matter of preference, I'd much prefer Mitts center a 3rd line with 1 experienced winger that has both a sound defensive game but also has enough hockey IQ to jump in aggressively on the offensive side. I don't see success with Mitts at 2C, at least, not this coming season, based on his rookie outing. I do like moving Sobotka and Sheary. Wilson is decent line 4 depth and Elie is meh to me in any event. Skinner won't be leaving Eichel's LW. Your simply not paying a line 2 LW'er 9 mil a season. I believe your right on Nylander, I think he gets moved, if that was your intention of him. Not sure where, but Toronto makes a ton of sense as a trading partner for the Sabres. Just an IMO.

Yikes! If we are going after Stralman I pray it's for individual coaching for Pilut and Dahlin, because if it's actually for playing, the Sabres are in even bigger trouble than I thought.

The Golden Season? I feel like I've been on Oak Island for 10 years, I found a tablet that said if you tear it down, you'll find that "Golden Season" chemistry. Unfortunately, after drilling massive holes in the island (sell everything not nailed down), I still haven't found that gold, and the curse says that elusive Stanley Cup won't be found until 7 major players are traded away.
