  1. Wow, Trouba really wanted to go to the Rangers.
  2. I am wondering if he's thought of offer sheeting.
  3. So outside of the Vancouver info, have there been any other reports today of Sabres involved in anything?
  4. I hope not Goldobin.
  5. Wondering the return for either from Vancouver.
  6. Frank Seravalli @frank_seravalli · 31s TRADE BAIT: GM Kevin Cheveldayoff says #nhljets have a lot of balls in the air. So what’s next? Belief is Jets offered Nikolaj Ehlers to #Canes for one of their right-shooting defencemen.
  7. All eyes on Buffalo and Ristolainen now.
  8. Why on earth would Botterill give Risto for Miller, who's numbers definitely do not scream goal scoring, and tale a cap dump in Callahan? Both Smith, and Yerdon as well as Vogl need to do a solid here, and just stop before their fists reach the lower intestines.
  9. I was asking if anyone knew lol I didn't get a chance to listen.
  10. Anyone catch Joe Yerdon on TSN1290 this past hour and his "Sabres trade whispers"?
  11. If Buffalo could shed Sabotka and 1 of Girgs or Larsson I would like to see a Risto + for Ehlers and Trouba deal. 6 mil for Ehlers is a nice contract.
  12. Ehlers from Winnipeg, man he would look nice with the Sabres.
  13. I caught Chad's tweet. I take it Winnipeg isn't a potential partner ?
  14. lol, McCabe is going nowhere, he'll be re-signed here in Buffalo to be sure. Vesey for McCabe, I laughed so hard I pissed all over my depends lol
  15. No recollection would have been "who"? Which is what I felt like saying to begin with ?
  16. I remember our interest in him what was it, 2, 3 years ago? Didn't we give up a pick for his rights and he didn't sign here? Not that it matters any, that is just how I remember him, I haven't seen him play but only against the Sabres. Any info on him like his speed, does he check well, is he a two way forward, a grinder, a pest?
  17. As can be clearly seen from the stats below, there is very little to non-existent progression on the score sheet for Nylander when you view his goals/points per games played per AHL season. They remain pretty steady across those three seasons. Which indicates he's leveled off, at least at the AHL level. For example, his first season, being so young, new to the pro game, can be understood, but the next 2 AHL seasons, 51 and 49 games respectively, his goal totals of 8 and 12 as well as his point totals of 27 and 31 respectively are on the same plain roughly. I don't see the significant progression your speaking of, even the numbers you show are not significant in the least. You have your view on him, I have mine, but once again, here are the numbers I am looking at. Rochester Americans AHL 65 10 18 28 -24 6 | Sweden U20 (all) International-Jr 8 5 9 14 7 0 | Sweden U20 WJC-20 7 5 7 12 7 0 | 2017-18 Buffalo Sabres NHL 3 1 0 1 -3 0 | Rochester Americans AHL 51 8 19 27 3 10 | PLAYOFFS 3 0 0 0 -1 0 Sweden U20 (all) International-Jr 7 1 6 7 3 2 | Sweden U20 WJC-20 7 1 6 7 3 2 | 2018-19 Buffalo Sabres NHL 12 2 2 4 -4 4 | Rochester Americans AHL 49 12 19 31
  18. Maybe your correct, hard to say really. But in my response, if you took the 2 seconds to notice, I guessed I was hoping he was a late bloomer then went on to say why I understood some were skeptical of him. I to would like to see him given an opportunity in training camp and preseason.
  19. Some players are late bloomers, I guess I'm hoping that is what Nylander is. But I do completely understand those who are more than skeptical. After all, 28, 27 and 31 points in 3 seasons in the AHL is not exactly screaming progression enough to warrant NHL ice time.
  20. Everything in this post has me seeing red except that last paragraph. That one has me deeply depressed as I have lost all faith in Botterill as a GM. I'm also very unsatisfied with the Pegula ownership scenario, the honeymoon is long since in the rear view mirror, divorce is looking beyond tempting, but like a New York divorce court cynic I realize as a hockey fan that divorce will cost me everything. So like an unhappy spouse forced to stay in a relationship out of hockey self preservation, I wander through day after day in a state of depression wondering when it will all end.
  21. The entirety of the first 8 years of the Pegula's ownership finally peaks and culminates with a highly touted player winning both the Conn Smythe and the Cup 1 year after being sent packing lol More and more now, I think about PA and his early posts about the Pegula's, long before I joined here, I would read them. They were suspect on so many decisions, but this one will definitely go down in the annals of Sabres history. Bad trade? Oh yea. But, not the end of this story to be sure, as we continue to live in the basement of the NHL, we watch in pure awe as other players will follow in O'Reilly's footsteps to be sure. We haven't Suffered enough, as Reiger would tell us.
  22. I tend to agree, at the end of the season he looked to be much more pro ready. I'd like to see him as a top 6 winger, hope the kid really comes in to camp with Olofsson and they show they are ready.
  23. And hence why each of them make more than Skinner.
  24. I do not disagree with your assessment here. But...……….. Risto at 5.4 mil for 3 more seasons, given his point production, is, in my opinion, a worthy offensive D man. I would prefer they get a shutdown LD to ride with him on the 2nd pairing. Who that might be and what it would cost to get him is a conversation worth having maybe, no? Also, while we are discussing D, RHD's Risto, Bogosain, Montour, Nelson, LHD's Dahlin, Scandella, McCabe, Hunwick, (Pilut down in the AHL as of now) There are of course a couple of 21/22 yr olds in the AHL that may show a push, we just never truly know. But, when I look at those listed that have actually played more than a handful of NHL games, and this is just my take is all, but Scandella and Hunwick would appear to me in any event, to be the odd men out. Leaving an opportunity to hunt down a shutdown LHD to partner with Risto. I am not overly familiar with players reportedly available such as Trouba or Ceci or Honka, but here is a list I found that may provide the type of D man/D men we could possibly need.
