Jack Quinn having Season Ending Surgery for a LBI
PerreaultForever replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Much ado about very little. A hernia for a young athlete is a minor thing and he should be fully recovered and 100%. Whether or not he's any good is another discussion. Too soon to to tell. -
GDT Bruins at Sabres 4/22/21 7pm MSG/WGR550
PerreaultForever replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Probably. I've wanted to see the Bryson Borgen combo . I think I'd probably have mixed the 2 more D guys with the 2 more O guys (so Dahlin with Risto) but I do like the idea of trying to develop pairings rather than mixing and matching all the time. It's been a sore spot with me for a few years now. As for UPL, you never know. Swayman surprised the Bruins so UPL might surprise us. Is he actually ready though? Very unlikely. -
UPL to make His NHL Debut Friday April 23.
PerreaultForever replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Ya, that's pretty much my view. I don't think he's ready but with the situation Adams left the team in Tokharski can't play 3 games in 4 nights so they give him a look. It shouldn't ruin him. Hopefully he gains more perspective and works harder. -
Another Reason to be Optimistic about Dylan Cozens
PerreaultForever replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Ya, I don't need another reason to be optimistic about this guy. I'm confident he's future captain/leadership material and will have a solid NHL career. I just hope we can build a playoff team that will give him the chance to really shine in the post season. I am confident Cozens will be one of those guys that excels in big games. -
2019 6th Round Pick Lukas Rousek signs ELC with The Sabres

Finally somebody to fill the hole left by Vlad. -
That's pretty good. I imagine that's an exception, but then again they didn't win in the end.
-
I don't know. I'm just wondering out of curiosity. Are there stats for that available somewhere?
-
Whose the third? Cause neither of those two can play D.
-
An interesting stat might be has a team that sucks at face offs, and I'm not talking about just losing them 49%-51% or something, but a team bad at faceoffs ever gone far in the playoffs?
-
Not necessarily. Maybe he was just bored. or maybe Adams said "come to the game, I will show you the guys I've been talking about and you can see for yourself what I mean" and the gist of what that conversation could be about good or bad is myriad in possibility.
-
That's not necessarily wrong but you have to hope they can score as many or more to counter that. What's the alternative with Skinner? You can't wish him away. We're stuck with him, so you have to try to get something out of him. You want to just bury him on the fourth line like Kreuger did? imo Skinner's best chance to succeed with this roster is to pair him with Reinhart.
-
Do you watch at all? Countless face expressions on the bench and in interviews after games. Not worth going over. If you think Eichel leads well and doesn't pout you're delusional.

List your necessary attributes for a Stanley Cup competitive team
PerreaultForever replied to SDS's topic in The Aud Club
1. Solid goaltending with big save potential. 2. Top ranked specialty teams. 3. A balanced roster that can adapt to different game plans faced. So speed and skill but also grit when needed. 4. Depth. Especially extra competent defensemen. 5. A team concept that everybody buys in to combined with a coach who can make quick adjustments, match ups etc. Sabres currently have none of these. -
Well part of the reason is because they gave Skinner way too much money. So if Sam wants a big time payday we're in trouble and won't be able to have the resources to build a team behind those 3. Rookie contracts won't last forever. The comparison is a bit of a straw man argument. They are not necessarily the same, but they might be. ROR lost his love and that was that. You lose the trade big time but you really have no choice and with an owner wanting to save his bonus cheque you really have no choice. With Jack there is a question mark. There's no question he's a frustrated hockey player but he also doesn't seem to have the character to take that on himself and lead out of it. Smashing sticks and pouting isn't leadership and it rubs off on others. IF, and it's a big IF but a real IF, IF he's not in the right frame of mind to commit to this team the team will be better off to move on from him. There's different mindsets. If his mind is okay I like the direction of this coach and the enthusiasm of these kids and I'm going to give it my all and rise this team up next year it could be good, BUT if his mindset is well oaky I'll start the season and see how it goes but this is your last chance or I'm out of here and if you rebuild at all I'm out of here and don't you dare trade my buddy Sam.............and that post game hot tub better be the temperature I like............. well okay maybe not that but I think you get my point. Bottom line is Adams/etc have to sit down with Jack, determine if he's genuinely into this team or not, fully committed to excellence here, and if not, it's really the right time to move on.

How about Vancouver beating Toronto twice after coming off their covid hell? Laughs showing they are very very beatable.
-
I would think all of this is for next year.
-
I think that's too much but not a big deal either way.
-
I could be wrong, but I think he lost every single draw. otherwise, this notion is a perfect example of how stats can tell you anything and also nothing. The overtime example is a good one. Face offs make a huge difference in the 3 on 3. It's all about which draws and when.
-
Well this is a long discussion that will be batted around I imagine during the off season. There are numerous ways to look at it and arguments for all sides but if you want a big culture shift and you like the current developing chemistry, then this might be the moment to make a radical break with the past/status quo and move on. My only point is, that if that is the plan, it would make sense to move some people out before the draft if you want to retain some others. Honestly though, I don't think Seattle is going to be overly concerned with who they are getting from us so if they want to sway it to any specific person I don't think it would take much that way either. I doubt Seattle is salivating over Borgen, Bjork or whoever.

GDT: Bruins at Sabres 4/20/21 6:30pm MSG/WGR550
PerreaultForever replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
and Caggiula was a waste of time and space. He looks like a non issue in terms of next year. Rubbish. Well you're not going to do much on a 5 on 3 staying on the perimeter and doing nothing down low no matter who is out there. -
That's not necessarily true. It all depends on how many and how good they might be.
-
Not sure what you mean by "how". You get to keep Borgen if you open a roster spot.

GDT: Bruins at Sabres 4/20/21 6:30pm MSG/WGR550
PerreaultForever replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
That final 2 minutes was a total embarrassment. Bruins owned the front of both nets all night. They were simply better than us at everything. Men against boys. It's annoying to watch Taylor Hall do good things. And it's even more annoying we tossed them Lazar for nothing. Best ultra cheap forward in the league. Well, at least Hall didn't score.
