  1. I've been trying to tell you guys for ages all these numbers don't matter. Points don't matter. Just look at Pts percentage for your playoff chances. Only number that matters. With this run we have managed to catch Montreal. So now with this run only 6 teams are ahead of us for the wildcard spots, not 7. No chance. league wide we are 8th for the draft unless we win a lottery. We are basically the same as always.
  2. Except Lindholm's a free agent this year. Like all trades, what you get back is what matters. I'm not trading him for picks. I'm trading him for DIFFERENT player(s). A real hockey deal (rare I know, but not impossible).
  3. That's why he's a very tradeable commodity. Sell while he's still high value.
  4. This is what I would do instead. Mitts-Greenway-Tuch Quinn-Cozens-Peterka Benson-Vet 3C - Vet winger Big guy - Krebs - tough guy Power-Dahlin Joker but preferably big vet D - Mule RJ - Clifton Veteran goalie UPL back up So trading Thompson and buying out Skinner and not re-signing Girgs or Kyle. Robinson couldn't care less either way. Crazy right? Like a fox.
  5. lunch pal? Maybe that's why we suck. Did wrong by a good guy. I liked Ted. Sabres treated him like s%%t. No denying that. and thanks for calling me a "southie" and a "lunch pal guy" like it's an insult. Now go F yourself you elitist piece of crap.
  6. Really? I mean I was joking but what's with the Nolan hate? Worse than Kreuger? Come on, Kreuger HAS to be the worst hire ever. Ted was coach of the year and he deserved it. Then we screwed him over and the rumors ran rampant. The return? Well that was Murray screwing him over yet again. I mean the audacity of a guy trying to win games when the GM was tanking. Had to get rid of every single goalie to stop him. Murray's the worst GM ever. Kreuger's the worst coach ever.
  7. They are not "slow" but they have a tendency to stop skating, stand around, quit on plays, watch. When they "keep moving their feet" as Ray likes to say often they are not a slow team at all. Quite the reverse. The rhetoric said we want to be Carolina, but for that we need a fast aggressive forecheck, and that is still absent.
  8. So what you're saying is a team that bad had very little chance of having a 4 game win streak right? 🙂
  9. idk but I think Ted Nolan's available . 🙂 Lindy's getting a bit too old imo. Better than Granato, but I want (and likely won't get) Gallant. Now hiring Lindy as a Senior Advisor above Adams, now that might be an interesting move. Which again, will not happen.
  10. Well they beat the toothless Sharks, as they should, but I do not think there was anything there that makes you think they will move out of what I would call the third tier of the nhl (teams that are better than bottom feeders/tankers but not good enough to make the playoffs). Tuch, Greenway, Mitts played the game like a proper NHL line. Cozens, Quinn, Peterka, had solid moments and were rewarded, The top (?) line was garbage. and Bryson? lol, why is he here? just WHY?
  11. Nope. Not everyone. Don't hate him, but don't think he's all that either. Not yet anyway. He still has upside though.
  12. Blame Jost lol, that's too funny. Since the tweet is on to the absurd how about this instead. It was because of the call up time. They got one look at what playing for the Sabres was like and decided F this, why am I trying to make that team? Cut me so I can go elsewhere. Now there's a theory for you lol.
  13. are you younger? I find in general the younger fans simply don't get the full level of frustration. They don't remember what it used to be. They just don't get it.
  14. It's a nice idea, but this year I'm not expending much energy on potential free agents. I am pretty confident we will not be signing anyone above the Clifton level and that level is meh.
  15. Strange comparison to Chara but I guess that's Bruins hate. Gallagher does push the envelope, but so do lots of players. We could use a few envelope pushers. When we were good we had them. It corelates. I think 5 games was right.
  16. Let's see, more or less than others...........so less: Skinner. Can't stand him. Wish he was gone. I imagine I'm the biggest Skinner hater on the board. Dahlin. I don't hate him, but his defensive game is lacking at times and he is not worth the worship/love he gets here. Thompson. His lack of physicality constantly annoys me. On the other side, Cozens. I still believe with the right coaching he can be saved. I could be wrong. Greenway. See above. Clifton. The expectation was too high and the surrounding cast/D partner bring out his flaws. He can be a solid bottom pairing guy in the right system. If I had to pick a favourite player this season it's Peterka. He gets a lot of love though so there's no more or less involved, just saying for the sake of.
  17. Is Gallagher a repeat offender? If he is, 5 games is too light. If it's his first major offense like that then it's pretty reasonable.
  18. Well I'm going to disagree. We have size in terms of body size but they don't use it. Even a giant like Thompson rarely hits anybody. You think a coach can fix this, I'm not so sure. Yes, a few of them might be fixable, but I think quite a few of them are just what you see and won't be anything else. The problem with guys like Krebs is there's nobody backing them up. Krebs has fought, but he's mostly bark and no bite. Skinner? Skinner is no threat to anybody. If Krebs was on a line with a DesLauriers type he'd be just fine in that role, but he's not. Ultimately though it's an impossible argument to prove until we get a good coach in here and then he either benches players and they get moved out or they respond to the message. Until that happens we have a divide on whether or not the "talent" actually has the character or they just don't.
  19. If the implied suggestion is that Pegula will not pay for free agents because of the Ehrhoff mistake it's clearly false as we signed Hall and Skinner to big money deals. Arguably both mistakes, but the money was spent. If they shifted to not signing any more big money deals voluntarily it's because of those deals and not Ehrhoff. If the implication is some sort of German voodoo curse, JJ Peterka should have cancelled it. If not, I guess our next coach has to be Uwe Krupp.
  20. Yes, this all sort of comes together. We need more people with Benson's aggressive drive and effort (along with his skills and hockey sense) and the speed is always good, but we do not need more little skill guys and goal scorers. No more soft Euro prospects for now. We need size, grit, 2 way ability, leadership qualities and even some more fighters and rats. AND more goalies in the system because we do not have THE goalie yet,
  21. I'm not going to argue further than this but you suggested certain people should leave. ANYONE who suggests someone should leave, needs to be told.
  22. Well okay fair enough. I suppose I'm always locked on building playoff sustainability and not just some squeak in fluke early playoff exit thing. If we'd have somehow gotten in and one point over Florida I'd have bet anything we'd have been swept 4 straight (5 with some lucky game goalie thing) and the Bruins would have maybe won a cup (or at least been in the final with Vegas). So the Bruins haters here should probably feel good about that 🙂 Most of the off season talk around here was how Levi would save everything and be Patrick Roy. Lots of instant Levi believers here and I think KA was one of them. Folly.
  23. That whole "one point out" argument has many flaws I hope you realize that. Part of it's presumption is of course, that all the teams around us stay the same or get worse. They don't.
  24. Kostin is clearly a few cards short of a full deck. Why would anyone voluntarily take their helmet off against DesLauriers? https://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/n268773
  25. Yes. we're not "real fans" ffs
