  1. Okay, and now he will be Bowzer in my mind for the remainder of my days.
  2. Use all those picks to move up every chance they get. I'd be fine with only 5 draft picks that included players who are highly likely to make the team coming out of training camp with talent to match areas of need. Get Josh his wide receiver at some point and the rest of the picks go toward improving the defense.
  3. I just stopped by to hopefully see that Terry has sold a controlling interest in the team to someone or a group that actually cares. The byproduct of that would be GMKA is gone and systemic changes are going to be made in every aspect of the team, from the front office to the janitorial staff. Until these things happen I will continue to be a fan from as great a distance as possible. They are not worth my time or my money. The pain is not worth it. That said, I will aways be a fan of the Buffalo Sabres to the greatest extent of my ability. Please Terry, it's long past time to step back. I know you will never sell as long as you are alive and I wish you many more years of great health and happiness. It is time to take your payday and give the reins to someone who has the time and energy this team needs to succeed and ultimately bring the Stanley Cup to Buffalo.
  4. Makes sense. Got to average out the $$$ paid to Granato on that brand new contract he never worked one day of. Not sure where Terry's head is regarding the Sabres, but I'm fairly certain he hasn't seen any sunshine in a number of years.
  5. Good job by McDavid making himself available. Good job by Matthews making it easy for hockey's best player from 15' and lots of time to work with.
  6. Andy Reid's play calling was the difference. Easy plays for chunk yards. Given that everyone expected a down year for the Bills, they certainly over achieved this year. Next year should be even better with a couple of additions on offense, a rebuilt defense and hopefully a new special teams coordinator.
  7. Right there with ya. My New Years resolution for several decades has been no Brussel sprouts, and I've never had a problem with keeping my resolution. Nothing but mutant cabbage.
  8. Whatever they were practicing before today wasn't working, so why not just not practice? Could it be worse? Please don't answer that question.
  9. So sad. And it was 100% preventable, especially in this day and age. It's not like driving while inebriated is a new thing that nobody understands. Prayers for the Gaudreau family at this tragic and painful time.
  10. Anchorage boy. Things are more expensive up here and momma has a lifestyle to maintain. He's gonna get paid but not $10M a year. At least not yet.
  11. Be careful Thorny. You are very close to stepping into a big steaming pile of painful truth with statements like that.
  12. I wanted to vote "Not good enough", but I'm hopeful that Lindy is the difference maker. Still seeing what might be a playoff roster and the move from DG to Lindy will be the catalyst to get there.
  13. Nick Deslauriers would like to meet you out back in the alley in 5 minutes.
  14. I believe that is not at all an issue. Sabres don't make the playoffs this coming season and KA is back to managing the ice rink in Salamanca.
  15. Why am I having visions of a thick piece of Spam with a side of dry white toast?
  16. That's the beauty of Beane's work. Josh is paid. The O line should be solid and there are lots of lower cost skill players in their offense. Brady will send them to the line of scrimmage every play with the defense having to defend against the run and the pass, from sideline to sideline and all the way to the endzone. None of that nonsense where everyone in the stadium knows what play is called. Let the other teams worry about the bubbles. We got Josh and as long as Josh stays healthy and focused I'm liking the chances this coming season.
  17. Flip-down 2X magnifiers are your friend. I've used them for years and doubt I could tie a Palomar knot without them.
  18. I'm certain you are capable of getting a kick ass power play system in place. Get your resume over to KA first thing Monday morning. Otherwise, doors will open and opportunities will present themselves. Best of luck and keep your head up.
  19. How many years before Demidov is allowed to leave for the NHL?
  20. Reading between the lines, it seems as though KA wanted to fire Granato during the season but Terry said no. Instead, KA had time to think about it and to make a plan. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but it doesn't give me a good feeling. All of Adam's previous plans have worked out so well after all. Maybe the added heat from his own job being on the line will be the catalyst needed to improve upon his previous decision making process.
  21. As always, all we can do is wait and see. It would make sense that this is GMKA's last chance at a coach that gets them to the playoffs and keeps them there for a number of years. Maybe next to the last chance if things are not working in the early season and another change needs to be made. That seat has to be blazing hot.
  22. This is me being hopeful that Cozens issues this year were all injury related. He was trending to be that reliable 2-way C that put up 30 goals. He can't be asked to be the sacrificial "enforcer". I hope he gets healthy and smarter this summer because the Sabres really need his game to return and improve. That said a steady and experienced 3C who can take face-offs and the clone of Angry Larry to fill the spot at 4C are my biggest requests. Shuffle anyone not name Dahlin, Power, or Byram, plus some picks or prospects or bottom 6 guys for the 4th D that helps Power achieve the next level(s) is a nice idea too.
  23. Davis had his "hiccups" (his own word) earlier in the year, but was channelling his inner Ken Dryden during the tournament. Helped that the coaching staff changed the team profile to help the defense and stay out of the penalty box during playoff time. They spent 3 practices just working on how to defend again Celebrini and the BU power play, then didn't have to worry about it as they stayed out of the sin bin.
  24. DU (University of Denver) is the first team to reach 10 national championships. A name to watch: David Carle has coached DU to national championships 2 of the last 3 years with players who don't have anywhere near the star power of their opponents. Also helps when your goalie has a .979 (138 of 141) save percentage during the tournament.
