MAYBE Mitts learned something while he was away playing with the big boys. Remember that quote about his first Avs practice and how it was the most difficult practice he had ever taken part in? If they can get Mitts for cheap I'd say why not, but I'm not inclined to try that route again. He really doesn't fit anywhere in the line-up as currently constructed. That is unless his game has changed to the better while he was away.

I'm just hanging out here so that I can hold Inkies beer once he sees this post.

Jason Robertson rumored to be on the trade block
irregularly irregular replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
The last thing this team needs is another timeline, especially one that KA is trying to manage. Of the available options (that we know about), Robbie is the best answer. KA has exactly what Dallas wants, but it's the futures that he holds so dearly. If the end result were to be another rebuild, I fear that the Buffalo Sabres would no longer exist. The swirl would become the flush and the franchise would end up somewhere else. -

I think it would take the 2026 first (maybe top 3 protected) + Quinn + Helenius in order to get Robbie. They would ask for Benson and/or Kulich instead of Quinn. -
Do You Like The JJP for Kesselring/Doan Trade RIGHT NOW?

Sorry, I had other things to do. -
Do You Like The JJP for Kesselring/Doan Trade RIGHT NOW?
irregularly irregular replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
If improved is picking #9 at the draft rather than 5 or 6 or 7 or even eight, all the time not making the playoffs, then I guess they have improved. When does the parade start? -

Isn't that almost the exact definition of Stockholm Syndrome? -
Your honor, the Prosecution presents as evidence another grievous example of Kevyn Adams being totally worthless as the general manager of a NHL franchise. If this statement from Friedman is true, he is inept beyond compare. No wonder the Sabres are in the position that they are. Armstrong should be arrested for child abuse. It's tragic and comical to everyone who isn't a fan of the Sabres. The auto dealers in town must love it when he goes shopping for a new car for the little lady.

Sabres announce Jarmo Kekalainen Hired as Senior Advisor

No doubt for the better, otherwise he would likely be smacking KA up side of his noggin several times a day. -
Sabres announce Jarmo Kekalainen Hired as Senior Advisor

Nope, not even close. In fact, I desire the opposite, as would everyone else that visits this site. I'd be really happy to see another couple decades of the Sabres I grew up with. Being a solid team year after year. Always making the playoffs and often getting to the 3rd round or maybe even the cup finals. Sell outs every game and a years long waiting list for season tickets. I suspect we are around the same age and have seen the same things since the 1970's and I know we all want it to be different because it has sucked for the last decade and a half. From my point of view it has really SUCKED for the past 5 years with KA at the helm. I gave him the benefit of the doubt early on, but no more. The last thing I desire to see is more of the mindless chaos that has buried this franchise over the past 15 years. -

Not taking any bets on this. Besides Buffalonill still owes me from the last SabreSpace bet I got involved in. What happened to that guy anyhow? -
Sabres announce Jarmo Kekalainen Hired as Senior Advisor

Good questions. Maybe back to waiting for an opportunity and the why could only be that the dysfunction of the Sabres front office is beyond his ability to endure the pain. The question I posed was mostly tongue in cheek, but it seems to have gotten some interest in the very remote possibility. Remote, very remote, possibility. -

Anyone know what the odds are in Vegas for Jarmo being gone within the next 2 weeks? -
Is A Ban on Fighting Coming to Juniors?
irregularly irregular replied to Porous Five Hole's topic in The Aud Club
Going to be interesting to see where they draw the line. More importantly make the determination by everyone to enforce the new line. Where does a "face wash" fall when there is a scrum in front of the net? That's the type of thing that starts the fight, but will it be an enforced penalty to keep fights from starting? -
What, If Anything, Gives You Hope For Next Season?
irregularly irregular replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
I voted for hopefully trades and FA acquisitions... in other words, Jarmo gets the traction he needs to set a course correction. Otherwise I fear more of the same. -
Does anyone like the idea of Brendan Shanahan
irregularly irregular replied to SJSabres Fan's topic in The Aud Club
Okay, and now he will be Bowzer in my mind for the remainder of my days. -
Use all those picks to move up every chance they get. I'd be fine with only 5 draft picks that included players who are highly likely to make the team coming out of training camp with talent to match areas of need. Get Josh his wide receiver at some point and the rest of the picks go toward improving the defense.

I just stopped by to hopefully see that Terry has sold a controlling interest in the team to someone or a group that actually cares. The byproduct of that would be GMKA is gone and systemic changes are going to be made in every aspect of the team, from the front office to the janitorial staff. Until these things happen I will continue to be a fan from as great a distance as possible. They are not worth my time or my money. The pain is not worth it. That said, I will aways be a fan of the Buffalo Sabres to the greatest extent of my ability. Please Terry, it's long past time to step back. I know you will never sell as long as you are alive and I wish you many more years of great health and happiness. It is time to take your payday and give the reins to someone who has the time and energy this team needs to succeed and ultimately bring the Stanley Cup to Buffalo.

Good job by McDavid making himself available. Good job by Matthews making it easy for hockey's best player from 15' and lots of time to work with.

Andy Reid's play calling was the difference. Easy plays for chunk yards. Given that everyone expected a down year for the Bills, they certainly over achieved this year. Next year should be even better with a couple of additions on offense, a rebuilt defense and hopefully a new special teams coordinator.

Right there with ya. My New Years resolution for several decades has been no Brussel sprouts, and I've never had a problem with keeping my resolution. Nothing but mutant cabbage.

12-4-2024: Practice and media availability canceled
irregularly irregular replied to That Aud Smell's topic in The Aud Club
Whatever they were practicing before today wasn't working, so why not just not practice? Could it be worse? Please don't answer that question.
