  1. So this begs the question of what teams are contenders that would need a #1 goalie? Edmonton, Colorado, and Toronto are really the only teams who are in the playoffs and will need a #1 next year. Current goaltenders for teams are Koskinen, Kuemper, and Campbell, who are all UFA's after the season. There maybe a carousel between them but you also have UFA's in MAF, Holtby, Husso, DeSmith, Greiss, and Korpisalo. RFA's who may be available are Kahkonen, Georgiav, Samsonov or Vanecek. I personally would go for Kahkonen or Husso as my starter with DeSmith as a back up. I want UPL to play a full season in Rochester with either Tokarski or Subban as back up. That would give the organization 4 goaltenders all capable of playing in NHL if injuries occur.
  2. thoughts??? https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/3202523 I want JJ and UPL to start the year with the Amerks and be called up because they are too good. I want them to earn a spot on big club. Of course if Husso or Korpi struggle then you can bring UPL up and give him a shot.
  3. so it looks like at least 17 EN goals against.
  4. I was wondering how much that stretch hurt us when goaltending was Dell and Subban. Even if the Sabres were to only win half of the games they played in they would have 6-7 more wins, or 12-14 more points. That would put them at 81 points and above .500% winning percentage. I think everyone can agree, goaltending has to be a major priority this off season. Overpay if you must.
  5. I don't like Krebs and Mitts together. Two best playmakers shouldn't be on the same line.
  6. Konecney is type of player I wish the Sabres had!!
  7. not been a fan of some of these lineups lately. The pairings on d and forward lines have been confusing of late as well.
  8. Just noticed how tight Panthers are up against the cap next year. They are at $78 million cap hit, need at least 4 forwards and 3 defenseman. They will have to make moves. I can see them moving Hornqvist, he has 8 team no trade list, so no chance he comes to Buffalo. I can also see them moving Gudas and/or Weager. They will both be last year of contract, so I can see them being moved for cheaper younger options. As a Sabres fan I would take either to pair with Power. Would you trade Fitz and FLA 1st rd back to them for Weager.
  9. Although they have played well in spurts through out the year there is no way that Fitz and Bryson should be in our top 6. They are too small to compete every game. Also need upgrades to Eakin and Bjork on forwards.
  10. I don't mind the kids staying in college as long as they eventually sign. We have a lot of young players this year and will next year. We need some players to develop their game outside of the NHL.
  11. Dallas finishes season with four games at home. Sea, VGK, Ari, and Ana. They should make playoffs. LA meanwhile only plays Colorado and a bunch of non playoff teams but only 3 of 8 games at home. VGK has Van, CGY, and Edm next three games on the road. Then NJD, WSH, and SJS at home before finishing at Dal, Chi, and STL. This is a lot tougher schedule. We will really see what VGK is made of. I think will get to 94 points and miss the playoffs by a point.
  12. Chicago was never in playoff hunt...why trade when you can wait one more year and overpay him for two years.
  13. KA mentions players they have interest in are under contract. Also remember him saying around TDL they have some ideas in motion for players and teams but the players were still helping current team in playoff run. Any thoughts on who they may be looking at?
  14. Let him practice a few days with team and then insert him against Toronto or home against St Louis.
  15. NO, I would sign Holtby for two years before I make trade and give up prospects and picks.
  16. I'd take Josh Brown.
  17. If PK Subban would come to Sabres for a few years I would take him. Never been afraid to stand up and protect himself or his teammates. His brother being on the team this year would only help in him understanding what is being built in Buffalo!!
  18. I think the Sabres push hard to sign Kuemper to a 3 year deal for $6-7 million AAV. If they can't get him than Holtby would be my next option via UFA and sign to a 2 year deal at $5 million AAV. A true number one goaltender for then next couple of years is must for this team to get to the next level. UPL can be a solid back up and play 25 games. Next must is the RD to play with either Dahlin and/or Power. If the Sabres can get two then do it and slide Joker down to play with Muel. UFA Options- Manson, Gudbranson, Rutta, or Brown Next is a solid #4 center who can win face-offs. Another vet like Eakin but just younger and better. UFA options- Paul, Stepan, Acciari, or Rask.
  19. It was great to see the crowd in full force tonight. Let's keep it rolling the rest of the year and into next!!
  20. Thompson is just skating...horrible call. Especially after the two obvious hooks on buffalo in the first.
  21. Love the movement on offense. On Dahlin's last trip around the net is what Joker that was stationed in front of the net.
