  1. I believe that you took the proper steps in correct sequence. It sometimes take a while for the corporate gears to move. Best of luck and I hope that you are awarded the position.
  2. The Pontiac Silverdome was built in 1975. It was used by the Lions for 26 years and by the Pistons for 10 years. That facility also used a curtain during BB games which seemed to take away from the character of the internal structure. My biggest complaint when watching the Pistons a few times was that the crowd noise was absorbed by the huge building. Granted, the Pistons were not very good for most of their time in the Dome. but IMO it seemed like it was a quiet venue. It's likely that architecture and sound absorption is much different than it once was. Guess that was back before your days in the Motor City Doohickie?
  3. Yea, kinda thought so. He averages a shot per game and I remember reading on DBB that he was a stay at home dman (although the read was some time ago). Seems like if he's now paired with Darlin that he would be more the safety than Rasmus. What do you think - Ink?
  4. Thing I heard on Beaulieu is that he seems to make the same mistakes. That was evident on many occasions last year. Nelson is a good stay-at-home dman which complements Dalin's unique offensive skillset.
  5. Yes definitely. You see him battling in the corners and behind the net more than before. LOVE IT!!!
  6. To those out there that hate Skinner --- why? He always seemed to play well against us. And +/- aside which is not entirely his fault, I respect his game.
  7. Said previously on the board that Car took what they could get. GM Don Waddell said. "We talked to every team in the League over the past four months, and ultimately the Sabres were the team that provided us with the best value in return, including three picks and a prospect we like in Cliff Pu." Apparently no other team was willing to give "a bunch" for Skinner in the final year of his contract. I love the deal and am hoping that he does will and we can sign him long-term.
  8. Hey SA or anyone out there who is good with coloring software. Care to try give us a look at what the WC uni would look like in royal blue and another in gold?
  9. Speaking on the WC jersey's. I think that they rock. Was there ever any discussion about making them permanent? With royal blue the home jerseys of course.
  10. Sources in St. Louis say that O'Reilly, Nolan and C. Johnson are opening a bar ?
  11. I think that we can say it was a definite maybe ?
  12. I wasn't sure about Thompson at first but am becoming increasingly excited about his potential.
  13. Also interesting that Colorado's fortunes changed after they both left. Not saying that its 100% the reason but ....... perhaps a plus due to culture change.
  14. Totally agree LTS. and well said. There is an "it" factor. If he goes to the Habs, I hope that he doesn't turn into a Sabre Killer like Damphousse. Man, it seemed like he scored on us every game.
  15. I think that this quote from Kimelman on Tkachuk is funny "his size and strength will make his teammates a few inches taller". With Montreal or Ottawa poised to draft him, looks like we might see him a bunch of times each season. As you all know by now I wish that we could see him 82+ times per season.
  16. Funny you ask. In Harrington's article today he mentioned that the Sabres are "high on second-round center Marcus Davidson and second-round goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen".
  17. Pi & Liger ----- good one ----- hahahaha
  18. I just read 6 reviews on Wahlstrom and it seems that he is offensively gifted - something that we desperately need. There is no mention of him as a two way player in those reviews. The link posted above mentions that he has to work out defensive kinks. I'm still in the Tkachuk camp as he could be an immediate contributor in replacing ROR production while Wahlstrom works on his D at Boston College. In addition BT brings toughness and attitude which we also need.
  19. Yea, good points. who would we have to add to make Ott or Det interested? Hmmm, interesting.
  20. I I can't disagree. I like ROR because --- well there is a lot to like. In order to get value you have to give value. That's just the way it works. Prospects are a big part of any rebuild. Look at the Blueberry Muffins. They had a lot of prospects and now have two playoffs appearances with them. I'm still interested in hearing from our esteemed board if ROR can bring a return of a 4 - 8 draft pick.
  21. Do you think that ROR could bring a round 1 draft pick in the 4-8 range? I'm impressed with the talent of Brady Tkachuk. He had a great WJC, spoke well at the combine and analysts have given him glowing reviews. Button @ TSN "makes teams and those he plays with better" - which is a heck of an endorsement. Would it take more that ROR to get the pick? Who? And besides we need a "chuk" on our team --- the more the better.
  22. Pollock wrote an article on how he couldn't criticize the Bills-Sabres owners. Then he proceeds to criticize through the thoughts of other writers. Come on man. Thanks for the warning Promo. Good on you for calling out Skurski.
  23. So true. We don't need 5 talking heads on NFL pregame shows either.
