  1. I guess he enjoyed the spirited conversation about the guy who used to sharpen Wayne’s skates when he was 12 in the shed behind the old barber shop in downtown Branford.
  2. I'm not sure he plays slow so much as he plays on his own. He carries the puck and his linemates are supposed to read solely off of him instead of working as a unit. If Jack shoots he shoots, but his linemates are meant only to receive his passes or clean up rebounds. I think it's why Reinhart, known as a playmaker in juniors, became more of a goal scorer in the NHL. This year in Florida, while still scoring, he's doing much more playmaking and this has elevated him from a 25g 55 to 60 pt player to a pt a game player. Losing Jack has freed Sabres players as well. Skinner, is back to creating on his own, but is also working with his linemates and has 3 multi assist games. In his 40 goal campaign he had only one multi assist game in 82 played with 23 assists total. Skinner already has 18 this year. Even VO in his first 26 games had 5 goals to 15 assists.
  3. He should be suspended for 2 games, the next game they play and the 4/12 game against the Sabres.
  4. ...and people said thread was premature. I'd kind of like to thank LV's GM for ripping the heart out of the Knights and giving it to us. The cohesion of this clubs is completely different with Tuch in the lineup. Honestly, LV looks old and tired. Jack was supposed to give them a lift, but instead he is doing what he did here, get his points (9 in 13 games, but isn't making the team better. They have only 4 wins in Jack's 13 games (4-8-1). That's a 57 point pace for those counting at home. That's not the playoff pace they need.
  5. What a difference 4 years makes Lineup for the Heritage Classis Skinner Thompson Tuch VO Mittelstadt KO Krebs Cozens hinostroza Bjork Eakin Hayden Dahlin Jokiharju Samuelsson Bryson Hagg Pysyk Anderson Lineup for the 2018 Winter Classic Girgensons Eichel Reinhart Kane ROR KO Pouliot ERod Pominville Larsson Josefson Nolan Scandella Ristolainen McCabe Bogosian Gorges Beailieu Lehner Surprisingly only KO was on the ice for both games and in the same position (2 RW). A quick examination shows clearly why we are in the mess we are in. Beside Jack, Sam, ROR, Scandella and McCabe, no one on that team was someone to build around. Today's team may lack the dynamic skills of Eichel or the two way play of ROR, but if I'm being honest, I like the current team so much better. The new team is actually 3 forward lines deep talent wise instead of 2 and has two good D pairing instead of just two good D. I also see 8 guys to build around in Tuch, Krebs, TnT, Mitts, Cozens, Joki, Samuelsson and Dahlin.
  6. Salyer, Shaffer, Camarda, Q Walker. Cine and Kendrick couldn't hurt either We need a punter, WR, DL, OL, and LB. S and CB are also needs Good thing GA has someone in this draft from all our positions of need.
  7. One of the best things about this win was that backup the big LV win with another win against a playoff team in the national spotlight. It also backed up the 5-1 pounding they gave the Loafs 11 days ago. Obviously there is a long way to go, but they are making the stretch drive much more entertaining and building some confidence in the process and in themselves. They can always trade him for assets and then re-sign him in the off-season if he wants to come back.
  8. It's fine between periods and at whistles to get his point of view on a play or save etc.. However, call the darn game as it's happening. They tried a little harder after the changeover when Toronto needed to get back in the game and that almost made it worse. I'm not sure if the producers were telling them to get back to work or that they ran out of beer.
  9. He was truly excellent. I think I saw 4-5 stick checks that broke up Toronto rushes. They made Dunleavy and Roy look like a Hall of Fame tandem. At least they watch the game.
  10. The commentators weren’t even watching the game. They spent the entire game kissing up to Wayne. They acted surprise when Vinnie scored as if they didn’t even realize the game was going. They weren’t homers, they thought they were in a bar with Gretzky having a beer.
  11. Bills need as many Bulldogs as possible.
  12. I blame the worst broadcast crew with the worst studio show. G-d it was painful to listen to. Awful. For the first time in a decade + since Lucic hit Miller, this team has backbone, skill and a positive attitude. No defense, no goaltending and soft. Same team since I was born.
  13. Are these jerks even watching the game, or are they more interested in kissing Wayne's behind?
  14. This might be the worst broadcast I've ever heard.
  15. Oh no question. The ghost of Jimmy Hoffa would be better, but it’s good to know how these prospects have at least as much upside as Petersen if not more. The crap goaltending belongs to KA and he needs to fix it. Now would be good.
  16. Does anyone know if you can alter the draft order in FC draft simulator? It still has us drafting 29 and 30 which does make sense considering the LV is nearly out of a playoff spot.
  17. Considering he is a 2023 prospects, as Teddy Kennedy said, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
  18. Why? What good is drafting a player who may never be able to play for your team?
  19. Just some perspective on Petersen. He was never as good as either Levi or Portillo are in college. Petersen's (age 22) 3rd and final year at ND 40 gp, 23-12-5, 2.22 gaa and a .926 save % (His numbers were similar in the prior season). Levi (20) so far 30 gp, 21-8-1, 1.47 gaa and a .954 save % in his 1st college season Portillo (21) so far 38 gp, 28-9-1, 2.03 gaa and a .929 save % in his 1st season as a starter. He played 7 games last season with a 4-1 record, 1.67 gaa and a .925 save %.
  20. Welcome to the board. We have discussed this issue some in the prospects thread. The bottom line is no one knows at this point. If their economy collapses then obviously hockey development will take a hit. The question then becomes will the prospects and their families try to leave for Canada or here? Will they be allowed to leave. In this next draft, I'd guess that many Russian players will see their draft position suffer and many will go undrafted. Russian players here or in Canada should probably apply for refugee status to insure they can stay. It's a huge mess, but one that palls in comparison to what's happening in the Ukraine. However I'm sure it giving headaches to KA and his staff.
  21. I think he maybe a better goalie right now then anyone here not named Anderson. I suspect he'll start in Rochester like Miller did his first year and get an occasional callup if he playing well. I also think the Portillo is close behind. I think both are better then UPL right now and the best thing KA could do is clear UPL out to open a path for both Levi and Portillo.
  22. The Minn ice sheet is huge. It’s 200 x 100. Michigan’s is the same as an NHL rink at 200 x 85. Huglen is a very active player. He just made a nice play filling in for a D who pinched to far. I’m enjoying watching him play with Rem Pitlick’s brother Rhett. Cousin Tyler plays for the Canadians. 3-2 Gophers. They’ll play Michigan next Saturday.
  23. He stopped 59 of 60 against UConn on 2/25 in a 3-1 victory. Northeastern’s D must be awful. He has only allowed 7 goals in his last 6 games on 243 shots.
  24. BC had 25 shots on goal in the 3rd.
  25. Johnson with a nice shot that gets tipped for Minn’s first goal in the 1st. Huglen has been very active. Huglen with the primary assist on Minn’s second goal on the PP to start the 2nd period.
