The Sabres are 8-11. There are 63 games to go, but I’m sorry to say, the Sabres odds of making the playoffs are nearly zero. In fact they have to play at an over 104 pt pace the rest of the way to even have a chance. The Sabres need to go 37-20-6 the rest of the way to get to 96 pts. Last year 96 points would have fallen short of the playoffs, but in most normal years, 96 points would put the team as one of the last ones in. So can this team make such a run? While the 102 point pace late last season says it is possible, with NJ and Bos playing dominate hockey and another 8 teams playing solid to excellent hockey in the East, the Sabres task is nearly overwhelming. The only way I see it happening is for the team to start a 5 or 6 game winning streak and soon. Take heart patient Sabres fan, fearless leader KA said this was another developmental year.

Just think if we had a GM who cared about winning.

Absolutely. We have 3 2nds, we can easily part with a 3rd plus to get him. Anyone with that work ethic, multiple Cups and the history of carrying the weight of being a top 5 draft pick has things to teach our kids. Obviously this makes to much sense for KA to even attempt it.

I’ve been yelling this for two years on the defense and goaltending. I’m sure KA could grab Reilly right now for future considerations. I can’t abide by any GM sitting on his hands and doing nothing when the team needs support. The really sad part is that I was almost on the KA band wagon. I understood his value approach with so many quality young players to re-sign in the coming years. I thought our offense was now to the point of being playoff competitive and was hopeful that Comrie and the young D would come through on the back end and it worked to start the year. That is until injuries hit and the crappy depth players had to to play. KA’s response to the problem was nothing. Jbot made the same mistakes. At this point in rebuild 3.0 winning must be the goal and until KA proves he actually cares about winning I’m off the bandwagon.

For those who can’t read the article, I’d sum up the story with when he got sent to the minors, he reevaluated what it meant to be a pro hockey player and changed how he did things. He hired a private coach to work on the deficiencies in his game and went on to win Cups with TB. Lets talk for a moment about the inner workings for the international scholar named Keyvn Adams. Why make a trade if Samuelsson is now "healthy" and you just acquired a JAG named Jost. Everything is perfect in KA land. He is spending the least amount of Pegula money as possible and getting the appropriate result. Never mind that the goalies can't stop a puck or the fact that Pilut and Fitz (and Bryson) are still on the roster. No, Samuelsson is back and a former 1st rd pick was acquired for nothing. In KA Land, it's a job well done.

Another week and more chaos. Michigan, OSU, USC and TCU needed everything they had to survive potential upsets. No. 1 slept walked to a boring victory over Kentucky. Tenn and UNC didn't survive. UNC lost to a lousy GA Tech team, probably destroying the ACC's hopes of landing in the CFP. Tenn got destroyed by a SC team that lost 48-7 to Georgia, likely ending their title dreams. Other pieces of Chaos. 10 Utah lost to 12 Oregon. 14 Ole Miss loses to unranked Arkansas. Navy tops 20th UCF. Louisville dumps No. 24 NC State and Oklahoma tops 22 OK state. So I guess the CFP will remain Georgia, OSU, Mich, TCU with LSU, USC and Clemson rounding out the top 7. Alabama at 8? Also nice win for my Hoosiers over the jerks from Michigan St.
