  1. Taste? That’s more like a crumb.
  2. Not exactly. 7 wins in 14 games is 500. 1-0-1 in this 6 game stretch. 3 more wins needed in the next 4 games
  3. Levi the 1st star. Skins or JJP 2nd star and Ericksson-Ek the 3rd. Mitts had a great game. To bad Greenway has hands of stone.
  4. Oh look a quick pass leads to a PP goal. Why can’t we do that?
  5. How many plays does Mitts have to make before someone cashes one in?
  6. We could benefit from a return of Marcus.
  7. What a nice play. JJP having a pretty good night.
  8. Everybody is talking to me. I can’t hear a word they’re saying.
  9. PP issues 1) zone entry is terrible 2) can’t win a draw 3) slow puck movement 4) lack of forward talent on 2nd unit 5) lack of creativity on the PP
  10. Another issue with the PP is a lack of forward talent on the 2nd unit. Serious, KO getting PP time still.
  11. It would be instructive to see if there is a correlation between man games lost and which teams make the playoffs. It would also be helpful to see if certain teams are consistently among the most or least man games lost during the season over the last 3-5 seasons. Injuries that occur prior to the season (like Quinn's) or players on LTIR to start the season (like Carey Price) shouldn't be included in the calculation. Anyone know where those stats can be found?
  12. Lots of puck luck tonight as the Sabres score 6 and win 6-3.
  13. Mitts is 7th in the NHL in 5 on 5 scoring with 10 points and is the Sabres leading with 12 pts in 13 games.
  14. Taking the Gretzky route out of town.
  15. It does seem that certain organizations have better training and conditioning staffs.
  16. Ryan Johnson
  17. The quicker the puck moves, the harder it is for the PK structure to be maintained. Lazy passes along the outside are exactly what the PK wants. I don't think this is a minor flaw at all. It slowly puck movement down, which in turn makes the PP easier to defend.
  18. There is truth to what Appert said, but players do develop even when they go back. Look at the difference going back made to Reinhart. He got physically stronger and worked hard on his two way game. Benson and Savoie could easily do the same. Granted, I agree that Savoie and Benson are sticking around until at least Team Canada’s camp opens. I expect them to send Benson to Rochester on a conditioning assignment if they can swing it. The Sabres like to control a prospects development plan when it’s feasible. I also believe that playing for a variety of different teams over the course of a season can be detrimental to a players development. Too many possibly conflicting messages. There is no right way to do this, but I’m not sure the juggling of the prospects has helped the kids or the Sabres at this point.
  19. This is an issue dating back to last season. The Sabres are way to predictable. They pass the puck between the two wingers and Dahlin/Power. The passes aren’t fast and just serve to waste time. There needs to be different sets, such as getting the puck down low and behind the net, they need to move the puck faster and shoot more to create chaos in front of the net. We need to allow our creative players to be creative, like NJ does with Hughes.
  20. I’m not sure Ryan would want to be associated with Doc Johnson.
  21. This was really on UPL. He had a chance to cover the puck and get a line change and didn't.
  22. DG will probably put Z and KO out to start the OT.
