Mittelstadt, Olofsson and the 3rd and 4th Lines

Can someone 'splain me why Asplund gets credit for being an actual NHL'er? I feel like he's a guy who's obviously not good, yet people try to say he is to prove how smart they are. Kinda like the Bob Dylan of hockey. 😉 At least his slug linemates offer at least one or two redeeming skills. -
He won't. A sub .900 in the AHL is not an NHL goalie.
-
Agreed, but he can't play every game.
-
True, but I was trying to keep it realistic. KA isn't going to give up what it takes to get an NHL goalie... Especially not with his newly acquired Comrie on the shelf for now and Levi a potential flight risk if he sees a rough time getting in the lineup.
-
He's got a .940 save % in the AHL. Penguins need picks and prospects. What's he cost? KA- Please include UPL as part of any package.
-
NHL AVERAGE goalies save almost all of the shots that they are supposed to save, AND they save a few they aren't supposed to save. If you only get the ones that you're supposed to save, you ARE NOT an NHL goalie. If you don't save any you're not supposed to save AND you let in some you're supposed to save, you're UPL. 🤬

Still awesome that he scored, but all of Quinn's body language on the first said, "I f'd that one up and got lucky anyways." Still cool that he got a good screen shot off though. Lots of guys on the team would have looked for a pass that wasn't there and turned the puck over.

I mostly agree but the only way I'm making the trade is if the #4D isn't on a high price or dead end contract.

Has this losing streak already doomed this season?

As I type this: The Sabres are 2nd in the league in GF... Yes, 2nd in the league in GF. -

No more Whitney Houston? -
A lot of people were complaining about not understanding the shooting "heat" diagrams. My complaint about the charts in this post is it's so hard to read the small fonts in the evolving hockey. The other thing is I prefer hard numbers to standard deviations and the like as I forgot nearly everything from university stalockquote widget

NHL average goaltending gobbles up that rebound all day long. -

Maybe they should sit him again. 🙄 -
There's one chairlift that has mostly black diamond terrain. While I think you'd be fine on the single blacks, you might want to sample the other greens and blues before attempting that lift. The other cool part of the resort is that it's a giant fiord down to the St Lawrence. From the top, you think you're skiing into the water. You drive in at the top and you don't even notice you're at a "mountain". If you want true beginner terrain (though I think you're more than fine), Mont Ste Anne has a better selection of long green runs. It's closer to Quebec city as well.

If you're only going to do one, I suggest making the drive out to Le Massif. It's been a while since I've been there mind you, but I find it is similar to a western mountain in terms of snow and vertical.

Snowbird is my favourite mountain I've ever been to, and I've boarded most of the main Utah and Colorado resorts. I'm a boarder, so I've yet to go to Alta. Not too many Canadians know of the SLC resorts, so most people are surprised when I say how good they are. If you ever go back, be sure to give Brighton and Solitude a try. Brighton is probably my number 2 hill anywhere. Its a little smaller, so it's good when your legs are shot, but the terrain is just so much fun. If it was as big as Snowbird, it would probably be my overall #1.

When my wife and I were dating, I thought I could turn her into a skier. Unfortunately after an honest effort by her, she never took to the sport. The thrill of going fast never outdid the fear of getting hurt.

For my kids, I usually buy used stuff, and when they outgrow it, I sell it for just slightly less than what I paid after they use it for 2 years. For boots, I get season rentals and the ski shop fits them to the used skis for free. If you can encourage any of your kids to snowboard, it takes the tuning factor out of the equation. Makes it really easy to get them set up.
