Yep. I don't know how many players you can define as your 'core' but those top 3 are at the head of the list.

Just came to post something similar. All eyes are on Dahlin but don't forget about Mitts. From all reporting out there he was tearing it up in both his sessions and is 'noticeably bigger and stronger.'

This all comes down to money. Would love seeing what JVR could do playing with Jack. But the cost will be too much. Not to mention he disappeared during the playoffs and is a defensive liability. He's here for one thing, score goals.

Maybe. But do you think they are going to sit a former 8th overall pick to keep a closer eye on some of these camp invitees that have a near zero chance of being anything within the organization? I've just never seen them really do this before. Then again maybe there is a nagging injury of some kind. It's very strange.

As someone mentioned in another thread it was reported Nylander was in Buffalo working out hard just a few days ago. No mention of injury. He's just being held out? Very strange.

Ya, his stats the season before last are very impressive; 53 points in 61 games. Don't know how much of that was Crosby but if he's playing with Jack I would hope those are the numbers JBott is bringing him in to produce.

This. From all accounts jack is ultra competitive (atleast that's what the talking heads said). I think he will throw a giddy fit if the team doesn't improve the next year or two.

Ya just saw that from your other video. That's very interesting. There was always this underlying thought that Antipin was promised NHL or he was gone. With several other teams reportedly in on Pilut no similar agreement was made with him. This is great news. A guy at that age coming straight over from Europe could learn a lot play half or a full season in Rochester.

Sure but some of these guys taken sound like they're very defensive defensemen. I would think that would impact the numbers. Do they have defensive analytical metrics for late round prospects playing overseas?

I can completely respect you not agreeing with some picks and I like the insight on who you would have taken but let's wait a bit to see how these guys develop. I mean, you have concerns outside of the top 2 picks, but they didn't even pick again until the 4th friggen round! At that point in the draft every single one of those players have some major concerns. I know your a draft nut (said in a positive light) and I do respect your opinion on players. But once you get outside of the top 40 or 50 guys it's a pretty big crapshoot.

Was away most of the weekend so I just caught up on a lot of his post draft interviews. The kid seems so well grounded and genuinely very excited to be playing in Buffalo. Love this guy!

we need to start hitting on some non type 10 picks. What was it 2014 or 2015 when we had 3 2nd and basically missed on all of them. I heard about how Hurley was a couple of days from being so young that he was almost eligible for the next draft. All busts. I'm fine if his ceiling is a shut down second pairing guy with a higher floor. I'm sick of missing on these picks. Let's build some depth here. Nothing I've read yet makes me think anything but this being a good pick.
