  1. So now I have to cheer for the leafs because they could easily end up with first overall if they loose play in round? Man I’m almost done with the nhl.
  2. Seriously. Only the nhl comes up with stuff. Sabre don’t deserve anything better but it really does feel like they’re getting shafted twice here.
  3. Funny my wife and I have discussed this recently. There are going to be so many far reaching effects and unintended consequences of this pandemic including the next couple of draft years being subpar as their not getting the same training and level of competition as previous cohorts.
  4. Loved listening to his wgr segments during those 2005-2007 years especially. Sad day. His voice just reminds me of the Sabres and has for so long.
  5. How can one blame a government for downplaying the virus when ones own president is doing the EXACT same thing? Six key days? Ask New York what 6 key days would of bought them.
  6. The stock market is very irrational right now. There are over 20 million unemployed Americans. 20. Million. Stock market still rebounds. FOMO is running wild right now. Didn’t watch the presser but I feel so bad for Dr. Fauci, the pressure he is under. Trump needs the economy to recover prior to elections and he needs Fauci to flaunt any hope out there.
  7. The longer this continues and the more stories I read (and unfortunately friends/family/people I talk too) the more this frightens me in society. Seriously, I’ve never been this concerned before but it’s getting scary. I just took for granted the amount of common sense people had......
  8. Yep, completely agree. So angry reading through a couple articles on it.
  9. Wow. Couldn’t believe it after his daily pressers telling everyone to stay home and not visit family or friends. Unbelievable.......
  10. Ya I didn’t want to post about the mask issue in case it got political but JFC. It’s unreal. Canada and the US have been allies throughout the vast majority of our histories. Fought along side each other in several wars and this is what Trump does first chance he gets? I’m proud Canadian but love my American friends. We have similar cultures and I have some good friends south of the boarder (including Sabrespace). We need to help each other and get through this together.
  11. Not everyone reads the millions of thread pages in there. I like making this a new thread and bringing this to our attention.
  12. Boris Johnson (UK PM) is now in ICU fighting the virus....
  13. Be careful if you’re coming to T.O. I’m also impressed with your Premier. Ford has done a complete 180 and actually doing a reasonable job himself. Shocking but there is hope yet.
  14. I’m think of you North Buffalo. You guys are hero’s for the work you do. Keep us updated if you have time.
  15. It’s been 17 days straight over here. Have not left the property line. Unfortunately saw this coming so stocked up and have atleast another month worth of food left. But wife and kids are getting tired of canned meals haha. So we’re going out later next week. Put in an online order with a grocery store and they deliver it right in the trunk of the car in a contactless environment. Plan on driving it home and leaving it in the trunk for a couple of days. Have some ice packs to periodically throw in the trunk. I know that’s overkill but with my chronic condition I’m not taking any chances. Also a shout out to anyone working on the front lines of this. You guys are amazing. I have several family members in health care over here. I worry Ontario is going to get hit pretty hard as well.
  16. Are you still of the mind this is just a bad flu season?? JFC......
  17. Liger also said this was essentially just a political issue in the old thread that got locked down. If people and governments listened and reacted when concern over this was first raised as it happened in Asia and started the spread to Europe we would be much further ahead of the curve. Wish I could quote that old thread but it got locked because people turned into into a political issue. Oh well, let’s focus on what can be done now. The lack of testing (still!) in North America is absolutely mind bending when compared to how quickly countries like South Korea and Germany started rolling out mass testing.
  18. I hear this was a thriller https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandemic_(film)
  19. What a great article. Ask my family and this is what I’ve been shouting from the rooftops for a month now. If we mitigate the spread now it interrupts the exponential spread which could literally save hundreds of thousands of lives. Obviously not me determining that but every virologist or other infectious disease expert had been saying for at least a month. Makes perfect sense but I look around and just baffled and disturbed by societies response. Articles reassuring people if they’re young and healthy they will be fine. They’re trying to limit panic but I think this takes the opposite effect and limits people’s perceived risk. They don’t take it serious or take necessary precautions and that is how the spread picks up exponentially.
  20. I sometimes wonder if society is desensitized to what’s happening because of Hollywood and the fact many have predicted or glorified this for several years. No reason to panic but if people don’t wake up and take this ***** seriously it will literally cost many lives. Even if you won’t die, don’t be an ***** and downplay the severity so it continues spreading (I quoted you but not directed at you).
  21. I sure wouldn’t bet that. But we will see.
