  1. So I pulled something in my knee about three weeks ago and like an idiot still played hockey a couple of days later as it was my last game. Now I've been limping around ever since and it barely feels any better than it did three weeks ago. I've got a doctors appointment on Monday so I hope it isn't anything too serious. I can still walk but if I'm going up or down stairs or in and out of cars I get this shooting pain.

Also my mother in law is down for four days. Enough said......

  2. There's only one QB from the 2013 class that I would hitch my wagon to -- Mike Glennon. I think he's going to be a star. I thought he was the best QB in the class (although I was pulling for other guys late because he was no longer in the conversation for the Bills), and he shows the most. I have absolutely no idea how the Bucs decided to get away from him as the immediate starter, even though they're saying he is their franchise QB.

Just 13 games and he posted 2,608 yards, 19 TDs, 9 INTs and just below 60% completions. He will be the long-term starting in Tampa by the end of this season, again. My biggest draw with him is that he LOOKS like he has it. His accuracy took a hit with scouts coming out of college, but he had a record-breaking number of drops among his receivers. A lot of them were directly on the hands in stride and just bad drops.

    (Manuel's 13 games stats would be 2,500, 14 TDs, 12 INTs and 59%)

As someone who is also a bucs fan (let's face it I needed a second team and jumped on the bandwagon for the 2002 Super Bowl run and been a fan ever since) I completely agree with your Glennon assessment. The bucs have been just as pathetic as the bills the past few years but Glennon is getting me excited. I love the idea of him sitting behind a decent vet for the majority of a year. The team won't challenge this year so give the kid more time to learn from the sidelines. I was pissed when his name was being brought up in trade rumours at the draft.

  3.

I think they have lots of depth at RB,OL,DL,LB and S. QB, WR, CB, TE are still big question in my mind.

All 4 RB's look good. Dixon and Brown could start for a lot of teams. Sammy has yet to show why he was drafted in his spot, not to mention why another first was traded to get him. EJ looked better. Team is still maddening in the red zone. Wasn't a big fan of Hackett last year and he's doing nothing to change my opinion. Mike Williams looks studly. I could see him getting double digit tuddy's if used correctly. Defensive line looks formidable. Wreaking havoc all night.

Thanks. Nice to hear ej played better (not that he could be much worse than the hall of fame game).

  4. I agree with you Glass Case, but haven't we heard all season how weak last years draft class was? I know he wasn't the first forward taken but Drouin likely would have been the first forward taken if he was in this years class and Tampa sent him back to juniors last year. I loved the Reinhart pick at the time and still love it but I do not want another Grigo case on our hands. It likely won't happen but to me the kid still needs to get bigger and stronger.

  5.

It may never be like WNY, but I think the whole experience would be much better if the Bills were Toronto's team. For example, I'd be far more excited if Blue Jays relocated to Buffalo than if they gave us a token game at the ballpark.

Although this may be true. The only way they would make the experience close to what it's like in orchard park is if they relaxed the public drinking laws and built a nice new stadium that would have to be in the burbs. But even then I still wouldn't want to even imagine how high the avg ticket cost would be.

  6. As someone living near T.O. I can safely say that I am with the majority that want the Bills to stay in Buffalo. The Toronto series was an utter failure and after attending two games I can say that I would MUCH rather make the trip down to Buffalo for the game. The drive really isn't that bad and the vast majority of the time the boarder isn't bad either (except American or Canadian thanksgiving, I'll never go to another Bills game either of those weekends.)

  7. I could see a majority of the Carolinas, or Arizona, among others, being more than happy gaining those two for that pick... :P

If they weren't in the same division in both sports I could see boston. Imagin Brady throwing to Watkins?!

  8. Ignoring the bills for a second, from a sabres perspective, would tp buying the bills be a good thing, negative thing or neutral?

Some positives include an nfl team bringing in huge revenues he could possibly redirect to the sabres. However money hasn't been an issue so far. Negative includes this taking his full attention away from the sabres organization.

  9. The political situation in Russia and Ukraine will have a very definite impact on the operation of the KHL and the hockey labor force. The one Ukrainian team in the league (Donbass Donetsk) will not play this coming season. Ukrainian players may be reluctant to sign with Russian-based teams. And, if the rest of the world imposes heavy economic sanctions on Russia, which will almost surely be the case, that should also negatively impact the league.

In the short-term, I just don't see many top players lining up to jump to the KHL, especially non-Russian players. Thoughts?

    Recent Toronto Star article: http://www.thestar.c...in_ukraine.html

Ya I read this article yesterday and found it very interesting. The drawbacks of the khl already include shady owners and long flights. The political unrest right now will just add to the negativity in playing in that league.

  10. Here's a good write up on the guys expected to go top 10 in next years draft.

McEichel are obviously the prizes but man I love the sound of some of these other kids. With 3 firsts and 2 seconds this upcoming draft will hopefully change this franchise for the next decade +.

Thanks for the list Liger. Who knows how these kids will turn out for sure but Jordan Greenway ranked 14 has a very similar write up as Dal Colle who went 5th overall in this years draft (whom the Isles took). As many have stated, this is such a deep draft that I'm still glad the Isles kept the 5th pick. In my view, as long as the Isles pick is in the top 12 to 14, I still think that will be close to equivalent to number 5 in this past year.

  11. I wasn't referring to you Blue. Also, Tank is right on, this was before even the Halak signing that some said a number of rookie D in particular are going to have a huge impact on the team. Maybe, but I wouldn't want to rest my hopes on unproven rooks. Sorry for derailing the thread.

  12. I think we're going to know a lot about this kid come February. Give him the majority of the year in ROC and if he plays above average then give him a shot up here. Based on what I saw he looked alright at the scrimmage but in no way was he dominant (from where I was sitting). I hear he played well in the 3 on 3 but that is almost to be expected. Give the kid space and he plays well, I need to see it come game time.
