So he's more of a shutdown type then. Ok thanks.

That's fair. It is still early so I'm sure Kylington could put up big points. As I admit I know little about him but just looking at raw numbers, in a draft with a very strong top 10 to 15 players I'm surprised he is standing out as number 4 in many rankings.
-
Weak draft class, later second round pick. It'll be awhile before we find out if either has any shot at the NHL.

Kylington makes me a bit nervous just because he's playing in Sweden. The development path for Armia has seemed much longer as he gets use to NA ice. Although Risto has seemed to transition well so maybe that fear is unfounded. I know you are very high on Zacha Liger but I haven't seen too many rankings having him in the top 5. I admit I haven't watched Kylington but he's not putting up huge points over there. I know it's against older players etc. but still.

Or less.....

In related news, the Oilers continue to ruin their team by force feeding their top picks (ie. Yak).
-
I think that's right. I just think they will go more all in for next season if they land one of the top two guys.

Eichel is the target. He is sitting at 4 goals and 5 assists in 5 college games played. Those are insane numbers for that level. In comparison, I love JT Compher as one of our prospects and he has 3 assists in 7 college games played. Compher is also a year and a half older.

Yep. I think if we can land McEichel the approach to the rebuild changes. We are more likely to trade away some of the very high picks and start becoming very aggressive in trades and FA. We have the cap space to do it.

Wow, tonight would have been a great night to create some distance between us and the pack. Let's not let one turn into two.

Wow easy. It's not up to me to bless it. There is a two or three day wait as others in the league can attempt to block the trade. As long as less than two thirds do not block then it automatically is approved. This is how the league is set up and I have no say in trades other than to give my one vote to block if I want. I've never seen one get blocked yet but the trade will not be processed in time for today. Act accordingly. For more information look in the league rules section on the main page.

Another big win by Long Island tonight as they continue this west coast trip.

That is correct. However next years draft going forward you can fall three spots. Therefore the team who finishes last could pick fourth. But that begins with the 2016 draft.

Although they had 40 shots, Colorado had jumped out to a 4-0 lead mid way through the game. I watched a bit of it and the Aves were just chipping the puck out for the majority of the second half and played vintage Lindy Ruff Alamo mode. The number of shots was a bit deceiving.

I'll go with 9 points this month.

I'm not helping out the Isles D this year. Nope, not going to happen.

I would love to see some improvement from the young guys. I want it to be guys like Mez and Beno losing us games and not someone like Risto. Risto has been alright so far, I would like to see some progress from him as the year goes along.
-
Since post deadline this is true. But currently this team is on a pace for 37 points. Last years team ended with 52 points and was dead last by a longshot. I think Carolina's disaster start to the season has some over-rating the points we're getting so far.
-
I'm with you on this if it is a big time forward prospect coming back. But the rumors of guys like Larkin just don't do it for me.
-
I agree with you TBP (as what seems like per usual) but I don't think he will be used properly here. The way Ted is using him and his rep for not giving rookies big minutes I can't help but think sending him down and saving a year of his ELC is the right move. Give him big minutes down there and keep in constant contact with him in regards to his off ice training. Plus captaining Team Canada at the WJC will be a good experience. I know practicing with an NHL club could help him, this is still one of the worst in the league and he is playing under a coach who won't play him much come gametime.
-
What you stated Liger is the only short term benefit I see to them trading him. He would very much help the tank but after this year we're going to be looking for guys like him. That's why I hope he remains a Sabre.
-
As others have pointed out Carolina has had some early season injuries and look considerably better than the Sabres in most stats categories (other than wins). I think the Canes will start to win some games soon. We're three points up (down?) with three more games played. It's a long year, I'm not ready to give up on this thing at Halloween.

That's the isles d/goaltending we all know and love.
