Johnson is an exceptional skater. He uses his skating, positioning and smarts to play a smart defensive game and move the puck. He can hold his own in the offensive zone but is not an offensive dynamo. He is not a banger. He is just a solid all around defencemen who isn’t flashy, won’t stand out but will have a long, solid career as a number 4 to 6. He will be a good signing and should play with Dahlin, Muel and Power for a long time.

    Sounds like a Mark Pysyk?

Also a first year STH/"Member", half season, driving in from ROC.  It has been great!  Definitely a luxury item and first thing to go if things get tight, but it has turned into quality time on the regular with family and friends.  The team is entertaining and likeable.  There's small perks like this Adams thing (not making the drive for that), discounts on merch, and general feeling of being invested with the entire organization.  Maybe that's a little cheesy but so be it.  Also, playoff tickets when the time comes are guaranteed. And after following this team for about 30 years (broke for the first ~10, too busy raising kids for ~10, and ***** team for ~10) I'm not missing it when they return to cup contender.

The downsides - yeah it's expensive.  And is the invasions from visiting teams fans is extremely annoying. It's one thing to have a handful of out-of-town jerseys.  It's another to have to compete against the opposing team's cheer.  For that reason I strongly encourage everyone to buy-in and take our arena back.  The game is awesome in person. The sounds, the better view of the ice, the comradery and energy celebrating goals and wins with 1000s of like minded fans.  Find a friend or family member you want to hang with and make memories together and invest in this team and community we love!  Do not regret it.  Already looking forward to 23-24 season.

I’m with you brother.  Well said.

  3. All this talk of season ticket holders and it finally happened.  My wife gave the ok and we put down a deposit on 4 tix in the 300s.  Will likely end up giving away and selling some but very excited for seasons.  Hope it’s not a huge waste of money and they really are turning the corner lol.

I am a long time season-ticket holder… If you are interested in buying a 10 pack or even a 20 pack from me for next season… PM me. I just charge what I pay. I make no profit on the tickets. Dead center ice, two seats, 300 level.

I’ll keep this in mind.  Thanks.

I see the Sabres offer half seasons now.  Didn’t know that.

He tried to address it with Comrie who played extremely well last year and was 2nd in the NHL at goals allowed under expected only behind Sheshterkin.

He played great his first game, then got hurt long term came back briefly and got hurt again long term and never really found his form all year.

There was no reason to believe that Comrie would go from really really good to abysmal, so I can't really fault him for that one.

Other than the past 2 games, Anderson has played very very well. He was 7th in the NHL in save percentage before those.

Outside of a 5-6 game stretch with UPL and a couple games with Comrie those two have been abysmal.

Didn’t we learn from the Hutton experiment that a backup having good numbers does not necessarily translate to them transitioning to be a good starter?  Comrie was a bottom of the barrel signing and nothing more than a thought and a prayer.

Hopefully he is just trying to decide if he wants to sign a ATO with Rochester or sign a entry level contract with Buffalo and he likes to take his time making decisions

My anxiety level is definitely a 5 now. I assumed the signing would be a slam dunk but the longer this drags on the more nervous I’m getting

Jesus man.  It should be a zero until after selection on Sunday.

They have no chance of making the NCAA tourney. Every single member of that NU team knows that. It’s not just about their spot in the PWR, the number of comparisons that need to flip in there favor is mathematically impossible at this point.

Sure.  But he’s been the face of that school for two years.  Even the political side of it is to just wait until it’s official.  There’s nothing to be lost by waiting until after Sunday when his season is officially over.

He has a very legitimate excuse not to sign prior to Sunday evening.  If we get past Monday lunchtime and he isn't signed, then there is an indecisiveness.  But right now, should the team make the dance, without Levi they are toast.  The 2 forwards that left, will certainly hurt their chances but it won't doom them.  (Thought it's likely moot anyhow.  Doubt they get into the NCAAs.)

100% this.  Not expecting him to sign prior to Sunday.  He was the heart and soul of that team.  If he’s not signed by next Wednesday it’s not looking good.

What I notice most about Quinn is that he will use his body.  Last night he stood up a Leafs player on the rush in the neutral zone.  I'll probably take his offensive skills for granted, but his willingness to step up in open ice and use his body tells me he has the willingness to do what is needed around the net.

He's going to be very good.... hell, he might already be very good.

He is really good already.  Sucks the slide Sabres we’re on will likely have them miss playoffs but holy ***** the next 5+ years sure look bright.

They need to draft a goalie every year.  I don't mind that pick, even with Hutson there.  Maybe the bigger mistake was three centers in the first round (although maybe they can flip one for a goalie or a defenseman.)

I refuse to believe it’s a problem drafting too many centres.

We have our top 3 D and they are all super young.  Bottom pairing guys can be signed or traded for relatively cheap.  We need to upgrade the bottom 3 D but I don’t get all the concern.  Having said that, GMKA has a busy offseason ahead.  Upgrade D and goaltending.  Our forwards are fine.
