Are you going down this morning?

I’ll be there. Looking forward to seeing these new guys.

Yes sir!  Heading down with my boys.  My oldest (10 year old) will be wearing his Sabres gold 50 year anniversary Dahlin jersey if you see us and want to say hi.

We went yesterday and had a blast.  Looking forward to it today.  Enjoy!

@Derrico will be interested in knowing how this kid looks in the scrimmage in the AM.  If you would, let us know your thoughts after the 3v3.  Thanks.

Yes I will keep my eye on him.  I was intrigued by this pick and watched him the most of goalies yesterday.  Only one practise so obviously all of this is taken with a grain of salt but he did not look like the best goalie of the 4 yesterday.  Hoping to see a better showing today.

Swayman and Gustavasson both already applied for arbitration, we need those awards to be too rich for their teams

I mentioned it in another thread but what about Ilya Samsanov?  High draft pick.  Good numbers last year on a leaf team that plays a high risk game.  They’re already something like $8 mil over the cap and he’s also filing for arbitration.  Just another name to consider if the price comes in too high and leafs want to turn it over to a younger and cheaper Woll.

You mind waking up 3 hours early to give yours truly a ride?  Yeah, didn't think so.  See you at the meet up.  😛

Have fun and give us the scouting report.  Being live in the building you see stuff the rest of us don't.

I would but I’m already dreading the early morning rush getting those damn kids out of bed, dressed and out the door haha.  And we’re only a 6 min metro ride or 20 min walk away now.  Still gonna be an early morning tho lol.

Definitely looking forward to seeing you again at the meet up!

Will post a few updates for sure!

Maybe individually at some point in the season, but IMHO not all 3 to start the season. That's just too much new and unproven rookie learning curve to the start the season with.

Never mind. Just saw your reply.

I agree.  I think there’s a reasonable shot all 3 are ready to roll starting in 2024.  Maybe not the worst idea to have one of the three make the team if they deserve it this year?  Otherwise your point about dealing with 3 rookie learning curves next year holds true.

Need to be?  No, but when you are signing an 8 year $80M contract, it would be nice, wouldn’t it?

Hes been playing here for years.  Pesonally I don't need him to be in town to give a presser after signing.

If they've come to an agreement you sign the damn thing.  I know it won't happen but I don't need some Chris Drury BS.

    Hellebuyck is a pipe dream.

    3) it flies totally in the face of everything KA has been doing.

Yet.  The Buffalo Sabres were a long way from contention when he took over.  They just missed the playoffs by a point.  KA is not going to mortgage the future but I would hope he’s considering some win now options much more than he ever would have in the past.  Didn’t make sense then.  It does now.

If need be add Middelstadt to the mix.

Mitts is already a great middle six utility player who is coming off a good year.  We’ve spent a long time developing him and I think we’re finally seeing some dividends.  With Quinn out until Atleast the new year he is not at all a throw in to be ‘added to the mix.’  He has good value and excellent chemistry with some of our big boys (especially Dahlin) and I hope he stays and extended for a reasonable price.

Boston’s 2nd pair RD for the last few seasons.

He’s a real Top 4 guy. This isn’t a stretch of signing a 6th spot dude and hoping for the best.

His average TOI was a shade under 18 min last year and 16:03 the year before so not sure it’s top 4 minutes he was getting.

    And he’s physical.

It’s the PK numbers that really catch my eye.

Its an area  we badly needed to target and it looks like we have here.

    This does sounds good.
