  1. To piggyback on that - idiots who take carts that are heaping full into the self-checkout lines. It should be an express lane sort of experience.

    Mea culpa.

However, I've done those self-checkout things at Wal-Mart so many times regardless of the amount of groceries that I have that I actually know what I'm doing so that way it's virtually painless to whoever is behind me.

  2. Where does he even say anything about Christians? He says shame on the protesters. Were the protesters Christian homophobes?

Bald guy is full of himself.

The protesters were from that Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, KS which is headed by none other than Fred Phelps. They are an aberration to say the least. A majority of conservative Christians would say that WBC is definitely on the fringe. Unfortunately, they provide fodder and make genuine Christ-followers appear negatively in the eyes of the public.

As for the bald guy, his logic and cogent reasoning are very astute. But then again, I wouldn't expect anyone who does not understand what he is talking about to agree with him.

  3. +: Cal Thomas. When he writes his syndicated column or puts out his 1-2 minute daily radio commentary, he makes perfect sense just about all of the time. Sometimes, I think he's way better than Sean Hannity.

-: Funny how all of the anti-war protesting disappeared after the 2008 elections. :wallbash: I noticed that hardly anyone is protesting against Obama's surge into Afghanistan - except this guy. IIRC, history is not kind to Afghanistan's invaders. Just ask the Soviets.

On top of that, Sean Penn. Here's why.

  4. i dont want to play of the 4th line anymore. i deserve more ice time. i want to be called "A Bonafide All Star"

where is the MOD team who can handle this change? i will walk if i dont get this. what an injustice...slap on the face

Either you're trying to joke around with us or you're taking things way too personally. If the latter is true, here's my advice: don't. It depends on how much you contribute to this place. Some people are just more prolific on here than others. Look at spndnchz. I've been on here longer than she has and she's probably written more posts on here than I have.

Take a chill pill, relax, and post meaningful two cents when you're able to. As for me, I figure that if I hang around here long enough, I'll make "Hall of Fame" status eventually.

  5. Why is it that whenever someone asks me "how are you?", I always answer "good" even if I want to punch them in the face?

Speaking of which, why is it that they ask the same thing when you have to go to the doctor's office because you're either hurt or sick? (Just got a reminder of that after a recent bout with peptic ulcer). That is my minus for the week.

My plus? I still have a job (and I thank God for it).

  6. You ought to hear the a$$holes here in Atlanta do that....

"It's going to be unbearably cold tomorrow, a low of 17 and a high of 34. Treacherous. Severe! Don't stand outside! Keep your stove going! Painful! Close the schools!"

    Shut up, tool.

    So apropos.

    The sky hasn't fallen...yet.

  7. This one really irks me: Ted Haggard! The fact that the guy went on Oprah to tell everyone what's going on in his life was just sickening. I kid you not: I went to his church in 1990 - back when there were approximately 2000 people going there at that time (and I was posted at Fort Carson, CO). In retrospect, his theology was extremely flawed back then, and it still is today. (I don't expect many SS members to understand what I am talking about with regards to theology, but I ask that you guys trust me when I say that I do have a clue what I am talking about in that aspect). Which leads me to my next complaint...

    Once again, Rick Warren.

  8. True story; I was working at Mighty Taco when I was 18 and fresh out of high school, fresh into college.

The longer I worked there the more angry I became at the amount of customers who, by themselves, would order a mighty pack, some Poppers, and an Enchilada(?) all with a Diet Coke, then finish up with, "for here, please". They would then park their arses and devour their meal with no shame in front of everyone. I must admit, I was particularly disgusted at overweight individuals who provided us with this show.

So one day, during lunch rush hour, an overweight woman waltzes in and puts in a similar order, and just as she was about to order her drink, I blurted out, "we all know you want a diet Coke you fat :censored: ". Must have been louder than I thought, and just my luck, she was one of those secret shoppers who was employed by Mighty Taco. I was fired on the spot.

My complaint; secret shoppers....... you suck.......

I'm sorry to laugh at you, but that scenario is just too funny.

  9. 1. Politics in general. It seems like everyone GOP is seething with anger and hatred as of late. That's a big mistake on their part as it's going to ensure they stay out of office. I think I'm done with politics for a while.

    2. My employer cut company funded gym memberships and didn't tell anyone. Surprise! Your membership with us is longer valid. This comes after no COL increase, insurance cuts, parking cuts, staffing cuts, flex spending cuts, 401k contribution, cut by two thirds, introduction of a 401 vesting, increase in cost of drinks... and our execs all got 15% raises. We're a company of less than 300. I'm two from the top. I don't get this. We're turning a healthy profit even though the economy sucks. Feels a lot like we're using the economy as a reason to kill benefits.

    3. My beer belly.

    Where's Sean Hannity? ;)

  10. That or they want to get him out and keep him quiet about all their wrong doings. Living in Chicago now, I think there are probably people doing as dirty if not more dirty things all the time (and getting away with it). Despite all his lobbying to get people to allow him to call witnesses to the stand, nobody wants that because certainly Pres. Obama's new/old bud Rahm Emmanuel would have to come underoath and say what he knows. Chicago is the dirtiest political landscape on earth, crooked things happen all the time.

Well, maybe not on earth, but certainly in the United States. There are other countries that make Chicago's political landscape look peachy clean. Did we forget about Russia?

  11. Rod Blagojevich. Just STFU and go to jail already. No one believes the BS coming out of your mouth. Yeah, we get it - everything you said and everything that has been said about you has been taken out of context. Right.

Justice has been served, my friend.

The Illinois State Senate voted 59-0 to oust him. On top of that, they voted that he not be allowed to ever hold any political office in the state of Illinois. He has since been replaced by his lieutenant governor Pat Quinn (no relation to Larry or the former Leafs coach of the same name). It just goes to show that when members of his own political party voted against him, he has really screwed up beyond belief.

And now, my complaint for the week: Rick Warren.

  12. Yeah, no problem. Those Freedom concerts aren't my cup of tea, but the money clearly goes to a very very worthy cause. Everyone deserves credit for doing that type of thing.

When I bring him up, everyone usually thinks that I'm a far-lefty. That's not the case at all. I just really have a problem with people that are, again, that polarizing. He's not doing a lot to help the traditional conservative values of self-sufficiency and limited government. Most people that listen to that show day in and day out already fully subscribe to those ideals. They nod their heads in agreement. If he truly wants to help the cause he seems so passionate about, it would do him some good to drop the rhetoric down a bit and move a bit more to the center.

Instead, he plays it safe with the listener base he has.

I also find it irritating that WSB plays all of those "Sean Hannity, on the right side of the issues. Quality election coverage" promo spots, and then Hannity goes on to rant about mainstream media bias. His show is political commentary. It's not a newscast. Leading a listener to believe it may be is just as biased.

I'm glad you cleared some things up. This was very helpful.

On the other hand, I don't expect you to cease with your weekly complaints against Hannity.

Whenever I've listened to him, he has made me think sometimes. However, his confrontational style can be somewhat grating. Could be worse, though. You could listen to Michael Savage. That guy goes way over the top for my conservative tastes and he does so on a regular basis.

  13. Because 750 has the best traffic coverage that I've heard?

On the topic of Hannity, it's not his views I can't stomach, it's his delivery. It's all so extremely one sided and they pitch as the "right side of the issues." Anyone that disagrees with him is a dirty, stinking, sub-human "lib" that doesn't understand the concept of freedom. I hate that polarizing crap, from either side. Michael Moore and Sean Hannity come from the same toolbox. It's all so negative. Obama could cure AIDS and Hannity would find something wrong with his approach.

Some of the stuff he's done deserves to be commended, like the scholarships for the military families. That's great!

Well, thanks for pointing this stuff out. At least you were nice enough to give him accolades where they're due.

Conversely, there could be a paleoconservative who does something to benefit everyone, and yet someone like Randi Rhodes would find the means to vilify them. After all, in her eyes, Jerry Falwell could do nothing right. (I am becoming less and less of a Falwell clan supporter, given some theological issues I would rather not discuss, but I mention JF Sr. only for the sake or argument.)

  14. I really love how bad weather creates bad roads, which for some strange reason serves as a beacon for every crappy driver to jump in their car and drive like an idiot the whole way.

This proves your point. The Trucker published a story about it. Obviously this should not have happened. K-Town isn't exactly one of my favorite towns to drive through, but this is not the main reason why.

  15. Atlanta locals calling 34 degrees "bitter cold." Homos.

And, as always, Sean Hannity. Just give me the weather and traffic. I don't want to hear "important news the mainstream media ignores."

And, as always, McJeff215 complaining about a great American, Sean Hannity.

Oh, lest I forget, the Old Gray Lady...

If you really want to catch Atlanta traffic without listening to the Hannitizer himself, why don't you listen to 93.3 or 104.7? Just throwing out options. Better yet, if you have an iPhone or Blackberry, look up traffic.com
