  1. Computers that crash in college in the middle of taking an exam, losing all your answers and needing to retake the :censored: thing. Bitchz

    How true this it!

That's happened to me a few times on Blackboard over at Liberty. At least the profs reset everything so I could take it over.

  2. Ok, aside from my follies, here's a legitimate complaint.

As a truck driver, I come across the occasional inconsiderate 4-wheelers out there who, no matter how many times my turn signal is turned on to get around a pokey, ignore me and impede my progress. This happens quite a bit whenever I see said offenders with tags from Alabama, Florida, and North Carolina...especially in NC!!!

  3. I just got another one of these calls. I have asked numerous times to be removed from the list. Usually they just hang up on me. Today, I threatened them with legal action if they don't stop calling. The person on the other end could not have cared less. Isn't there some number in NYS you can call to report these idiots?

If I get one of those calls, I'm going to offer to take them out to eat. However, there's only one item on the menu and it's Scottish Haggis.

  4. That's another one that gets me. Why the hell doesn't the guy drive away from the tube? Why does he sit there and let the kid keep pelting his car with stuff? Where is the kid's mother? Or anyone in the bank?

And IIRC, it's a car insurance commercial. Why would the customer's car insurance have to pay that? I'd be willing to be the bank would be on the hook for the damages.

    Stupid ad execs.... :wallbash:

It's called "sake of argument." It's one of those goofy little non sequiturs that we know wouldn't happen in real life...or would it?

  5. I have an abnormal complaint. Hurricane Gustav is projected to enter the Gulf of Mexico and they have a "projected path." As of now, Gustav is "projected" to hit eastern Louisiana. I live in Biloxi, MS and it's about 75 miles from New Orleans. My main complaint is that people are already panicing. Dr. Lyons, from the weather channel, told people not to panic. When they try to predict 72 hours ahead, they could be 300 miles off the expected location or impact. Lyons was simply saying wait until it reaches the Gulf. Prepartion is FINE, but panicing right now is not. I was here when Katrina hit and my house was flooded. For things to operate smoothly people need to stay in a rational state of mind. They should not panic.

At least it's Dr. Steve Lyons and not that Dr. Heidi "I'm causing global warming because I'm so full of hot air" Cullen making the hurricane call.

  6. Back to the Sabres game for a sec...I was impressed by Marty tonight, he made some big stops at key moments. If he continues to play like that he'll make a strong case for a decent contract in free agency.

Why, exactly, did the Bruins trade Raycroft to the Leafs? Thomas looks like a backup to me.

Read what I said earlier about Thomas. Maybe he should go back to the SM-liiga, where he won an award there for goalie of the year.

  7. Pretty good night for the Sabres. They got two points, NJ one and Atlanta and Montreal got zero.

You sure about Montreal? They tied the Pens going into overtime.

    ???

NJ got 2, winning in OT.

Montreal just tied it up 4-4 in the third.

Edit: going to OT in Pittsburgh, so Montreal gets at least 1.

Crosschecking, Niittymaki was in goal for the Flyers.

Thanks for the update on Niittymaki. The general consensus is that Niittymaki will be the man in Philly for the time being. Esche? Who's that?

  8. Excellent. I hope they hold this lead and not go to overtime. If it does, hopefully Philly can score before time expires because the Flyers seem weak in shootouts.

The Flyers have been weak in just about every department this whole season. That 9-1 slaughter that Lindy and the boys did on them at the beginning of the season sealed their fate. About the only bright spot for them lately appears to be Niittymaki. Esche might as well flip his lid because he's blown his cool.

Couldn't hold on for 32 more seconds ...

    out the other end.

Pens are leading the HabNots 3-2 in the 3rd.

Pens score another on the HabNots 4-2

  9. I think I'll watch the Phlyers-Devs game on Yahoo now!

I get a feeling that one may go to OT.

3-1 final.. couldn't have asked for more... they were down, then they took command of the game, then they put it away. Hard fought, road game.,.. tenacious.

The only bummer is that spacek is hurt, but oh well. He needed a break anyways

At least this game has been settled. I'm going to try to keep up on the others so I know how we're going to stand with the rest of the conference leaders...especially with the Habs trying to catch us.

  10. simple: we're BUFFALO fans!!!

we say "they're the worst team ever" when we're down....

AND..."they're the best team in the league" when they're up!!!!!

So do the Las Vegas bookies...

It was ALL you, man. ;)

Wouldn't you want the worst team in the league to pull of an upset like that in our favor? I think a lot of other fans on here would.

  11. mair on the ice BTFW

Maybe he'll come back to mix it up with Wayne Primeau like he did the other night.

BTW, took a look at one of the other games. For once, I'd like to see Philly win one...against the Devils. This should slow down the Devils' chase on us.

  12. I am not giving up on this team, but I may give up on this board. Somedays I hate being a Buffalo fan. This negativism has GOT to stop. I know this board is a nice tool to vent on, and trust me, I understand your frustration. That being said, we've got to pull together on this. Nothing personal, but I just used your comment to vent my own frustrations with.

PS - The Buffalo Sabres are going to win the 2007 Stanley Cup. Get used to believing!

I said something about the negativity earlier. It's a shame when some of our fellow Sabres fans give up on the team when the first period isn't even over. Who knows? Maybe some of these pessimists were the same ones that went to that Bills game and walked out before Frank Reich led the biggest comeback against the Houston Oilers in 1993.

  13. Briere gets hit in the face with a stick. No call.

A Boston guy holds up someone on the boards in the Bruins end, even the Bruin announcer says he expects a penalty. No call.

Axelsson runs into Biron, he goes down. Call against Axelsson, oh but wait, diving by Biron.

During the 4 on 4, Kotalik whacks some Bruin d-man across the arm two times, easily slashing, especially by the 'new' rules whereby you cannot lay your stick on an opponent. No call.

What a bunch of garbage. New NHL?

That freakin' diving penalty has got to go. I don't like diving, I hate it. But it's one or the other. If the ref deems a guy to have dived while no penalty was deserved, have the balls to call a 2 minute minor for that. If a guy embellishes what was already a penalty, call the penalty, but don't call a dive. The guy wouldn't have to embellish if the refs consistently called the game. But when a player is gaining an advantage on the play, and the other player is the victim, he has to make sure the ref sees the infraction or knows one was committed.

For example, Derek Roy gets held up 5 straight times, with no call. Finally, he tumbles to the ice to make sure the call is made. I submit that he has to do that. Suppose on the previous 5 occasions, the advantage gained by the opponent resulted in goals? Derek Roy gets chewed out by the coach, maybe gets benched, maybe gets sent to the minors, maybe loses his job. And why? Because the slacker refs won't call it by the book.

Back to the diving penalty. I say if the ref feels a player embellished a penalty, the team should still get the PP, but that player receives a misconduct. He sits for 2 or 5, maybe a first infraction is 2, a second is 5. If he's a repeat offender, suspensions come into play, like they currently do. The way it is now, it's a cheap cop-out by the ref.

Suppose Marty didn't go down there, but Axelsson tips it in for a goal? Marty can't trust the ref to make the call, he has to make sure the ref notices, otherwise Marty's stats are hurt and the team. It should be 2 for Axelsson and 2 or 5 misconduct for Marty with someone else sitting in the box.

Does this make sense to anyone?

Makes about as much sense as Game 6 of the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals. BTW, this one is for all the refs and the league bosses about that game: :wallbash:  :bag: :death:

  14. The announcers on HD Net are terrible as well. Is anybody else close to writing this game off already? The Sabres are playing in slow motion again and have the losing look this evening.

It's not even the end of the 1st period, and you're giving up on them already! Shame on you!

I'd hate to see how you react during playoff time. :chris: :death:
