  1. Is there ever a case in the job interview process where "we'll follow up in a couple weeks" DOESN'T mean "we're not interested and you'll never hear from us again"?

That's usually how it goes (but not always). <_< Runs right up there with, "He/she is no longer employed by us" = "We fired him/her." Don't you just love political correctness in this instance?

  2. 1, Women. They make the highs higher, and the lows more frequent.

2, Why is every one that I know completely insane?

1, It depends on the women you come into contact with. Some of them can be the most pleasant ladies out there when it comes to normal everyday circumstances. Then there are those who just have some of the worst attitude problems out there. I look at it this way: some women probably feel the same way about us men. In that regard, I would be very careful on where we shoot our "tracer bullets" because as the old saying goes in Murphy's Laws of Combat, "Tracers work both ways," and I'm sure that some women would say that based on a few bad experiences with men, they probably feel that ALL men are like that.

2, Who are you keeping company with? That might be a part of the problem. I'm not saying that it definitely is, but I guess it may all be a matter of perception.

Oh, one last thing: not a complaint this time, but happy belated St. Patrick's Day to everyone on the board! :)

  3. I'm not the only mod here.

    :D

True, but the reason why I went to you in the first place is that you started this thread.

No worries, though. If the thread never gets opened on a particular Thursday, it's not the end of the world for all of us here. We'll just wait for the next one.

  4. ESPN has clarified that the article that started this s storm was an opinion piece and not news. Don't worry though, the government, aka whimpy liberals, is still going to try and take your guns.

Now on to my complaint, we finally get some decent weather and it is suppose to rain all weekend.

:bag: I must have missed the "opinion" part. My apologies.

As for the gun issue, look at it this way: when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. If that happens, I think I may move to Finland.

  5. After going to the movies for the first time in about a year, I now realize one of the main reasons why I don't go more is that I hate price gouging. I have no problem with concession stand mark ups, but the prices you see at a movie theater are way worse than other businesses(theme parks & arena events come to mind) who also have a tendency to raise prices.

I can't even come up with a good guess as to the profit margin at a theater on things like pop and popcorn.

Well, I hate to do this, but in their defense, part of those prices go to pay the salaries of literally everyone involved in the production of the movie - right down to the Best Boy, the Key Grip, and the "We Hate America" actors.

Having said that, I am going to segue into this week's complaint: I got word from the Wretched Radio podcast late last week that the Huffington Post now has a religion section. I don't know how long it's been there, but that is immaterial. From all the names I've read that are listed as contributors, there is not one conservative listed that I know of. However, there are some high-profile "Liberation Theology" types who post on there. Thus, when I heard this and checked it out for myself, I realized that there's no point it wasting any more of my time on something that obviously seems to believe that salvation is only attainable by their talking about good deeds and that government and humanity is the cure and not part of the problem.

  6. Something about an outwardly Christian individual listening to Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus leaves me a little...well... .

Most of my extended family is Christian. Not just your church going types, but your real hardcore, home schooling, Missionaries in foreign countries, not have sex until were married types. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, they have never listened to songs named Coffinfeeder or Homicidal Retribution.

I know you're scratching your head over this one.

I grew up listening to metal - but not all of it. (Some of it left much to be desired IMO, i.e. Motley Crue, Poison, Bon Jovi.) It's one of those things that I cannot get rid of. At the same time, I don't think it will send me to hell (just like I think that Christians who can't quit smoking don't go to hell either, but that's getting off topic) - even though there are some out there who would vehemently disagree with me.

In context, though, what I said is that I listen to that kind of stuff when I play World of Warcraft.

  7. I hope this snow storm turns out to be everything it's hyped up to be just so that all the whiners will lose their minds.

Well, thanks to that snowstorm, I'm stuck in Gibson, PA at the Flying J truckstop and I won't be able to make on time delivery in the morning up around Syracuse due to hours of service.

Mind you, I was passing everyone at 45 mph on I-81 (speed limit got reduced to that exclusively for the storm). For some reason, I just have this uncanny ability to be able to handle the snowy roads no matter where I go (but I try not to take it for granted). However, I'm going to have to check 511 online for both PA and NY before I attempt to leave in the morning. If 81 is closed, I'm not going anywhere until it's opened back up.

It could be worse: I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins, WY in the middle of winter. If anyone on this forum has ever been out there this time of year, you know how bad it gets.

  8. My complaint is people going back 30 years to find something to complain about. Wasn't that cas from the 80'?. But I could see how a group that fights for people's freedoms would piss off some righties.

    So you support child porn?

Regardless of when the case was, it's still wrong.

  9. My complaint? One of the major organizations to head this once great country toward becoming a train wreck: the ACLU. It is just completely mind-numbing that these crackpot leftist fundamentalists would support and defend the "right" of truly sin-sick and twisted individuals to possess and distribute child pornography.

Then again, since one of its founders, Roger Baldwin, was a died-in-the-wool Communist, nothing should surprise me coming from that gang of "useful idiots".

  10. This seems as good a place as any to post this. We just released Echo Chamber, my wife's second album and I'm hoping that some of these songs get stuck in people's heads.

This is blatant hawking off my wares. Please remove if inappropriate

I'd completely forgotten about this thread. I never thought anyone would bump it.

  11. Complaint 2: Kids who marry a local girl that he's known for two months right before deployment and are surprised to learn she spent all his money the year he was gone, ran up thousands of dollars in credit card debt, and is divorcing him.

Hey, kid, DON'T GET MARRIED RIGHT BEFORE DEPLOYMENT!

Part of that problem is that some of those girls were Army brats! <_<

I know. I haven't had it happen to me, but I've seen it happen.

  12. For any of you who have been through Chicago, whoever planned and developed some of the roadways around there needs a refresher course in civil engineering.

Case in point: I was driving eastbound on I-90 before I got to the I-290 Interchange toll booth. There are four toll lanes, but only one lane to get through afterwards. Talk about a cluster :censored: on a daily basis!

  13. My complaint is against myself. While I am glad that I started a new job last week, I should not have openly broadcast it all over the place. I should have been more considerate toward those who are still unemployed and can't find work. My sincere apologies. :(

  14. You can't say he's not producing despite his old flaws though. But then I guess every blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes.

He may be producing, but the biggest negative against Max is his horribly bad habit of skating like Eric Heiden and beating the puck to the finish line.

  15. Southern hockey fans. Went to see the Thrashers and Stars tonight. I'd be surprised if that place was more than half full. Same old Max, BTW. Skate like hell and then cough up the puck.

Doesn't this make you glad that he's somewhere else now instead of wearing blue and gold of OBS?
