Yeah, you asked everyone, lol. I do understand what you mean. Any good boss can appreciate people challenging them. However, if you challenge them, but they insist on a particular course of action, your option are limited, because in the end they are the boss. Have you ever challenged your boss, but your boss says: no, I feel it’s really important to do it this way, and for these reasons? Did you then say that you respectfully disagree, or did you tell them to stay the hell out of your way? Im assuming you still are employed, so it’s probably closer to the first thing.

Actually, yeah, they do. They gave out a Stanley Cup and everything. Yeah, sure, because that’s what everyone tells their boss on their first day of work.

I also remember it being a question of which Sam would be the pick.
-
I don’t think he would. Not because he doesn’t have money, but because the Sabres probably take in less money than the average NHL team. I doubt Pegula would operate the team at a loss. He may be a sports fan, but I doubt he would lose millions on the team per year. That would be a rather expensive hobby.

No problem, just wondering if I was missing something.

Minnesota??? Please explain why you think someone from there would be preferable.
-
I would be very interested in Gillis and Hextall.
-
I was being completely sarcastic. I know Pegula has money, but I doubt he is willing to blindly dump his own money into the Sabres to the point that he isn’t making a profit. I haven’t seen a lot of examples of him doing so in the areas he is allowed to.

Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency

Just clarifying, 2 in the US have now died, and there seems to be a possibly community spread outbreak in Washington State. UPDATE: Its now 6 and definitely spreading in Washington State. -
Say no more, I’m convinced.

Could you elaborate on what the actual accounts were?

He has been GM for Team Europe and he is President of the Slovak IHF. What is so creepy about him? That’s news to me.
-
I don’t know what this is referring to.

Buffalo should get whoever Mike Bales tells them to.

This is my exact view as well. The Simmonds move was almost nothing. The Kahun trade was a move for the future. I do wish he had moved a couple more UFAs though.

The David Ayers story should be the basis for a feature film starring Adam Sandler. 42 year old former AHL backup, turned Zamboni driver gets a once in a lifetime shot to get into an NHL game. In the film, he throws a shutout and wins the game in dramatic fashion. The struggling NHL team, whose goalies have been bad all season decides to start him again, and again, and again as he keeps giving stellar performances. The team is galvanized by their new star goalie and he carries them deep into the playoffs. I’m not sure how it should end.

From Boston, John Ferguson seems like a good, maybe better, candidate. https://www.nhl.com/bruins/team/exec-hockey-ops-john-ferguson Gould is maybe too young without enough actual experience in hockey. Bradley seems like he has transitioned into the semi-retired advisor role.

I’ll play. I made a list of possible candidates. Not all are well know, because they were not all good players, but all seem probably qualified. I split up those who have/have not previously been GM’s. I focused more on 1st time guys. Re-Treads: Ray Shero, Mike Gillis, Ron Hextall, Dean Lombardi First Timers: Tyler Dellow, Pat Verbeek, Chris Drury, Bill Zito, Miroslav Satan, John Ferguson, Laurence Gilman, Dan MacKinnon, Ryan Martin, Mark Hunter

Except that Wennberg is an only ok 3C. He would be totally overmatched as a 2C. May as well just stick with Johansson there.

Murray was fired because the locker room was divided and in revolt against the coach. Murray stood by his coach. Pegula fires them both. His results also were not great and he was legitimately going hard for the playoffs. Also, TM is a crass, unwholesome guy. Pegula probably never liked him personally. That doesn’t help. At least that’s my basic understanding of the situation. Botterill, on the other hand, was hand picked by Pegula. He is the business talking nice guy that Pegula wanted in charge. Pegula likes him personally. Also, I’m sure he has preached patience to Pegula and sold this as a slow build up of talent and culture that would take some time. Thats why I think Botterill is safe while TM was gored (Lol, autocorrect *fired*) after year 3.

1) I think that getting even a 15-25 goal, 40-50 point 2C who plays at least average D would help a lot. 2) I think those two guys you listed are both 2C’s. 3) It would still help. 4) If a lower end 2C or high end 3C is acquired to fill the role, that’s not ideal, and isn’t going to get Buffalo to Cup contender status, but it would help the team and provide some cover for Cozens/Mitts as they hopefully grow into the 2C role. It would be an improvement.

Too many defensive breakdowns to keep them straight. -

Kahun was not on the ice for the goal. He was part of the bad change and had just headed off as Vegas rushed into the Sabres zone. I think you are confusing him with someone else. -
The first chart is showing xG share. Expected goals minus expected goals against. It’s taking into account both the shots a team takes and allows.

UFA C class is going to be very weak. I highly doubt Buffalo finds an answer there.
