  1. This doesn’t even make sense. “Hugging it out” is something you do with someone you’ve had disagreement with as a reconciliation. Why would I be hugging it out with Berglund?
  2. Say what you want about anyone as a hockey player, but have some decency about other people’s lives. I don’t know if people just haven’t ever gone through tough times themselves, or seen people close to them go through stuff, but there is a major lack of empathy in some of these comments.
  3. This is a true thing. What’s your point? Another true thing. What’s your point?
  4. Mean. He’s a real person with a real life.
  5. Ah, their it is. What’s a GDT without this? Glad you made it MODO.
  6. Silver lining: Dahlin looked really good today and I think he has shown a great amount of growth since early this season.
  7. He really looks bad to me. He is hurting.
  8. Skinner-Jack-Sam again. Jack looks done though. His passing has been bad.
  9. I think I would like Dahlin and Jokiharju to paired together and just left like that for 10 years.
  10. Maybe his core injury is actually a reactor core injury.
  11. Yes, not a sniper. He isn’t shooting lasers from distance or picking corners. He is a threat in transition and he goes to the right places around the net. 90% of his goals come within 6 ft of goal.
  12. What do you think of Lehner’s equipment?
  13. Just juking guys as they harmlessly skate past.
  14. That was a bad line change by Buffalo and Vegas used that to create a 4-on-3
  15. You don’t think it’s worth it to acquire a competent 2C? I would prefer it over playing a middle 6 winger at 2C. EDIT: possibilities as C’s who could be on verge of breakout, Adam Gaudette and Jack Roslovic (if it’s believed he could move to C). Both guys are due for a raise as RFAs. Do their teams want to commit long term money to them?
  16. I don’t think that those are the only two ways. This hypothetical 2C doesn’t need to be a star. He doesn’t need to be ROR. Someone who can be a productive offensive player (40+ pts) while also providing decent defense would help immensely. This guy may be expensive, but I doubt it would gut the future, especially if it’s a guy around 30 who is more of a 2-3 year bridge to Cozens/Mitts. The other option is finding a player who may not be fully appreciated by their current team but could blossom in a more featured situation. I haven’t really seen evidence that Botterill could identify and acquire a player like that though.
  17. I like him a lot, but I hope Buffalo takes a forward. He looks like he can be a real modern day shutdown D. Plus skating, strong, physical, good decision making/hockey IQ, excels at the details of defending, while also having good puck handling and passing skills that make him a capable puck mover. A guy who could be a top pair (#1?) D who anchors the PK as well.
  18. Well, yes, Jack produces more, but that’s hardly any kind of evidence that Sam is slacking. Jack is just flat out better. What would you say if I told you that Sam produces points at the same rate whether he is on the ice with or without Jack?
  19. Speculation. He doesn’t even say that he has “been told.......”. He basically just says “ownership is going to discuss it, there could be a change made”. It was prompted by someone asking him “do you think.......?”.
  20. These two comments back-to-back are a lot for me to take in. Need to trade Reinhart for a “real forward” and also extremely confident that Tage will be a good middle 6 forward next season.
  21. That’s at least partially correct. 1) This does not take into account shooting talent. So if you have guys who can score at an above average rate from less than great shooting locations, that’s one way to outperform these metrics. I would say that may be affecting MTL. Need better shooters.
  22. Honestly, the PK is currently awful, so I would try anyone else and see how it goes.
