I only saw him a couple games but he looked pretty good and he produced. I get that his NHL sample size is small, but he has been highly touted for years, has done great at international tournaments, did really well in college, did really well in the AHL, then jumped to the NHL and did well. He hasn’t needed much adjustment time. I guess I’m just sold on the kid.

Why do you think that’s not true? He was good when he played in the NHL (as good as Rakell it seems if not better) and should just keep getting better. I concede that it’s probably close between all three of them, but I’d bet on the two players on an upward trajectory rather than the player on a downward one.

Comtois and Zegras are both better “now” pieces.
-
Where you get this from? That wasn’t my reading
-
Agree Comtois is good young big and mean.
-
The #1 pick definitely does not have more value than Zegras for me. Comtois also has a lot of value

Eklund probably played as long and difficult a season as anyone. He played 40 games in a pro league that is at least on par with the AHL. He wasn’t underexposed, he was just in Sweden.

Owen Power. Terry loved watching him on TV at the World Championships.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with the post you replied to and I disagree with you, but to each their own.

Just going to prod you a little on this. How about returns that feature a vet or two who might be an ok player but is mostly there to offset salary, good prospects who have played in the NHL already or are ready to next season, young roster players who have established themselves as useful NHL players but should have more potential to develop, and a couple picks too? I think this is the likely type of returns. Would you be ok with this, or are you hoping for it to see mostly NHL veterans coming back? (Hockey trade)

I’m not offended. I just thought it was a really strange direction to take the conversation. Someone says that the 3 players seemed to work well together, and you ask if anyone thinks that they have had sex with the same people?
-
You are assuming that serious interpersonal conflicts are something that just exist in the background and don’t affect the things that happen around them. I’m saying that these conflicts did/would have held them back and prevented them from achieving success.

Against my better judgment, I googled that. Where the did that come from? Something you think about often? Just weird man.

Well, GM and coach were fired amid a swirl of rumors of rifts between the GM/Owners, Coach/players, and player factions. Need the right people in addition to talent.
-
If you get the right guys in place. Buffalo tried this 6 years ago. Wrong guys and it didn’t work. In that situation, personalities matter almost as much as talent.
-
He still kind of looks 12. YouTube says it was posted 3 years ago.
-
If they absolutely can not get Byfield or Zegras, what do you do?
-
Owen Power’s favorite team is the Toronto Maple Leafs. So there.
-
I like your take. Could very well be the case.

Power is more of a puck mover than a stay at home guy. He is more physical than Dahlin, but doesn’t have a nasty ness to his game. I hate that term anyway. All your D should be puck movers.
-
You you see the fundamental contradiction of your two sentences here? Dahlin is pretty big himself. I’m not sure that Power will “grow into it” any more than Dahlin has. If Power isn’t playing extra physical at 6’5” 215 against other kids I’m not sure he will against NHL players. He just isn’t a super physical player.

I don’t know John Hoven, apparent Mayor of the LA Kings, of some LA Kings podcast and of the Website Mayor’s Manor. Is this guy actually connected?
-
Same tier of prospects to me.

I take a different viewpoint. What does a young rebuilding team need? Do they need a guy who will have the best X and O work on the whiteboard? With a potentially complicated, nuanced system? Or do they need a guy who is going to demand that they behave, prepare, and work like professional hockey players? While maybe the Xs and Os are a little simpler? I think they need that 2nd guy to give them structure and instill good habits for a couple years. Then maybe they need need a great X and O guy to get them over the hump while the team leaders are still self enforcing that everyone work like that previous coach demanded of them.
