It’s as good a place to vent and commiserate as any I guess, and after enduring the organization’s incompetence I don’t really blame anyone. But I’ve kind of been expecting things to come to an major inflection point since this past season took a downward turn, due to the contract situations of Eichel/Reinhart/Risto, and their previously expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s performance. The events after the season just reaffirmed this. So I guess I’ve just gotten accustomed to the idea. I also don’t think that and Eichel trade without receiving a top-5 in the NHL prospect is an auto fail. So the constant complaining about it just feels tedious to me.

After they trade Jack, I might need to take 2 weeks away from here (though I probably won’t). So many are going to be endlessly railing against the return.

Yeah, it’s been two. He has done really well. He played for a horrible team during his draft year, suppressing his #s a bit, and injured his leg kind of badly at the end of it. He fell a little in the draft as a result. He has lit it up since then and he will be in the AHL/NHL next season.
-
Yeah, he started playing pro in 2016-17. Even if the 2020-21 season doesn’t count, Nylander has played 4 pro seasons. I don’t get it.

Missed the whole year with heart inflammation due to Covid!
-
Huh. This doesn’t seem right.

Krebs is a a really really good prospect. It depends on where you are drawing your line on A/B, but Krebs is probably a top 10 prospect not in the NHL.
-
Even for them. They did it once but they really had to try hard at it.

I’m going to go ahead and be that guy. These are kind of humorous puns, but I think any of this krak house, krak head stuff is in pretty poor taste. I’m not in favor of making light of drug addiction.

Can’t say how bad the roster looks until we actually see the roster.
-
This is a great point. I feel like odds are that the team has a better record next season, just because it’s hard to be so bad twice in a row. That will also give people an easy out to say “Look, Eichel WAS a problem!” Can’t wait for that.

No, you have it right. I just misunderstood you.

What prospects in the rumor. There were no prospects rumored in the piece by that FloridaHockeyNow guy.

This is called The Reverse Tebow.

We were discussing story this in here yesterday (page 72-74). Its an interesting report. However, it does run a little counter to a previous report that Adams was looking to get 4 pieces of 1st round pick type value.

#2 prospect in the draft for me. What he did in the SHL this season was very impressive.
-
I have no doubt that he can be very good on a better team. Only question is can a team count on him to play more than 40 games? He hasn’t been able to stay healthy. If I’m looking to sign someone as a long term #1 goalie, that’s a major concern.

Ullmark is never going to resign with Buffalo if you keep spelling his name wrong.

Thanks! Thats a pretty fun quote. Good for KA+JK. Nah, present tense.
-
This doesn’t pass the sniff test. Where is this quote? The Athletic is a news organization. If they are getting juicy quotes like this, they are going to get it published.

That makes sense. Income is subject to income tax. I don’t see how they would tax things like scholarships or meal stipends though.
-
Agree.

Liger took the words out of my mouth. Stick to whose board? Maybe the Sabres have had Beniers at #1 on their board for 6 months.
-
I agree, and it is likely to go that way with Tkachuk, but it doesn’t need to. He could sign a long term contract for less. That said, it does seem that Tkachuk has his course charted for UFA in 2 years.

Sounds that way, but I still feel like there is the force of social pressure pulling everything towards Power.
