  1. I have it on too, in low def. Looks horrible as ever. Also have an HD stream from reddit going on the laptop; looks fantastic. I can see every imperfection on Rob Ray's face! LOL
  2. They are clearly aware that this organization has, and has had, an effort problem for quite some time now. It's out-lasted what? 3 or 4 coaches now? They are trying to create a system of competitiveness where players cannot expect to find themselves on the roster each night. I think this makes sense, but the success of the team is still going to be limited to the talent on it, not which of them is playing or not playing.
  3. That mindset will last about a week. Then they will be calling for Ralph's head too.
  4. I hope Josh can go. First, if he plays and is OK, we have a good chance to win this game. Second, it means Josh wasn't seriously hurt, and I don't wish any player to ever be seriously hurt. Third, I don't want Josh to miss any games this season. The sooner he gets a substantial body of work under his belt, the better. I don't want to be in Ryan Tannehill purgatory with this guy forever. Show us you can do it, or show us you can't so we can find someone who can.
  5. That's about right. I had 3 wins. But it could be 4.
  6. Please. Sobotka was arguably, demonstrably, the worst forward in the entire NHL last season.
  7. This is how I feel. I have no idea why anyone would expect more than very mild, evolutionary growth, maybe. This roster needed to be ripped open and operated on, and it just never happened. On top of that, both of our goalies are below average. The single greatest thing we could have done to improve would have been to bring in a goalie with a substantially better save % than the 2 guys we have, and that never happened.
  8. This is no joke. For quite a few years now, we have been watching the absolute low point in the history of the Sabres organization. The games mostly do not rise to the level of sporting entertainment. I have no idea what new fan would be created by this era of Sabres hockey. It's terrible. You combine that with my Center Ice low def picture quality (which looks like a VHS tape from 1986 that has been recorded over 30 times) and it's more than I could take most nights. I'm hoping the interjection of HD picture quality into the equation will help.
  9. 1) Our problems greatly exceed mere "effort". 2) Many of the names that have showed a refusal to work hard under several coaches now are still on the team. Not sure why Krueger has the magic key to unlock that hidden work ethic. I realize he did publish a motivational self-help book in French and German, but... (PS: I didn't read the article; I don't have access to it or else I would have).
  10. How does NHL.TV compare to Center Ice on cable TV? I have paid for Center Ice for years, but simply can't take the low def picture quality anymore. The games look horrible, and the fact that Comcast and/or the NHL hasn't put the games on HD in 2019 is outrageous. I have been watching pre-season games on Reddit, which worked fine. The problem with that is I can't record the games, watch them when I want, and FF through commercials and intermissions. Is it possible to do any of those things with NHL.TV?
  11. Having a big run game as a part of a QB's arsenal is simply not sustainable. And the QB is the most important part of the team. If Allen is OK and plays against Tennessee, I think we have a really good chance to win the game. If he can't go, we probably lose the game, or at least have a really tough fight on our hands. Shows the difference the QB makes. One of Allen's best assets is his running, but that's not really a good thing. It's just not sustainable. It is much better if he can read a defense and smartly deliver the ball with timing and accuracy. Those are the things he struggles with. You can see why I am down on him, and always have been.
  12. I would put forth that Allen's performance today suggests that he will never be the QB a lot of Bills fans hoped he would be. It wasn't just mistakes, it was the nature of the mistakes at this point in his career. I can't think of a good QB who looked this bad this far into his career.
  13. Listening to Bulldog's 5pm segment with Rob Ray right now at WGR550.com. Bulldog asked Rob if he would bet on another significant trade happening before opening day, and Rob said he'd be on it happening. Not that Rob knows, but I thought it was an interesting comment.
  14. This game has turned into some serious entertainment in the 3rd! Love the hit from RISTO! And I like Sam standing up for himself a little bit.
  15. Foligno got in a good fight tonight sending a message not to mess with goaltender.
  16. Game's getting substantially more interesting. The hit, the shorty, the crowd noise...
  17. 2 turnovers in a row from Jack and the puck it's the back of the net.
  18. Yep, and the building is 2/3 empty...but still. Wasn't silent in TO last night, for sure.
