He was doing a good job of trying to lose the game for us late last night. He still has trouble getting the puck out of our end way too often. I don't know why Ralph is giving him the ice time he is.

Eichel's. That was a well earned 2 points being down 2-0 after 1 period. There's a nice, natural scratchiness out there when these 2 team play. If only SJ was in our division!

It's always that first game back home after the west coast road trip... Seems to usually bite us in the ass. Sabres better pick it up because I don't see us coming back from a 3 goal deficit. Next goal is big.

I'm pretty confident we will land a wildcard berth at this point. The season would be a major disappointment if we did not. Unfortunately, playoff games are played by good teams, the game would be on the road, and winning a playoff game in a hostile environment against a good team is beyond Josh Allen's ceiling, in my opinion. He'll get you to that game but not advance you beyond it. Kind of like Tyrod Taylor. I hope we get a chance to find out and that I have it all wrong!

We fundamentally have too many guys back there. I expect some type of trade. If Risto was finally moved, things would make more sense, but I don't get the feeling he is leaving.

They were completely dominated physically, they completely abandoned all structure in the D zone, the PP finally came back to earth, and key players like Dahlin had horrible nights. That's why we lost.

If last night's game against the Ducks was "us playing their game" it sure didn't seem like it. They badly out muscled us and exposed just what a weak team we have in that regard. I'm not sure there's a guy in the lineup who would actually drop his gloves right now, which is why they continued to antagonize us and get away with it all night long. Risto adds some muscle, but he won't fight. Sadly, I'm not sure it really matters anymore as this aspect of the game is all but gone on almost all nights, at least during the regular season.

RJ's finest work over the years, by far, has come during these types of melees on the ice. Now that this sort of thing is almost entirely removed from the game, he seldom has opportunity to elevate his game to the same level. I really miss it. RJ not only liked the brawling stuff, he loved it. The passion in his "play calling" during this stuff is just magical. BTW: My favorite line from this clip you posted: "I can't even tell who that is. It's either Daniels, Lacroix, or Kordic." LMFAO... My God how I miss this stuff!

Yeah, I would agree with that. I think #11 has to be considered the greatest Sabre of all time. Dom is second.

Perfect pass on Sam's goal. If it wasn't perfect, it probably wouldn't have been a goal. Olie is going to be a difference maker/solid contributor this season.

Unfortunately, the existence of the streak from last year informs how we view this start to the season. Not sure when it will cease to be "too good to be true". After 11 games? Thanksgiving? Christmas? One thing is for sure: our PP will not stay this white hot forever, and when that goes down, our winning % should drop a bit too. Still enjoying it though. For the most part, effort has been very good and constant with only a few break downs. If Ralph can keep that going, we should keep things interesting.

He negated his own goal with that defensive performance. He was beyond clueless in that situation.
