Hellebuyck supposedly only having a 5 year window is much closer to the mark than a mythical “15 year term” Time to win is now, our window is now, when our best players are in their prime and we have cheap talent still on ELCs. Even contemplating these goalie adds is getting me excited for next season. I really think if we can manage to add a bonafide, capable veteran to split w/ Levi that we’ll be likely looking at finally breaking this everlasting drought. I’m nervous and curious about it but I think it’s going to be an incredible experience

They kinda *didnt* lock up Dahlin, early, like they could have, like we are trying to see Adams do with his core, so I’d imagine he’s pushing quite hard for Power this summer so he doesn’t end up getting 10+ as well Dahlin at 10 would still be fair (more than, really) so considering some of the other good contracts we have I don’t see that as an issue at all. Especially not with the “no 10 mil player has ever won a cup” barrier likely falling this very playoffs

Maybe there’s a more extensive list that again breaks it down to, still average over median but narrowed down to 25 game starters im missing Hart’s marks were .907 (+) .905 (-) .877 (-) .917 (+) .914 (+)

It’s possible - he was certainly well above mid-pack in the sv% rankings in 3/5 seasons, but I didn’t add up each sv% of all the goalies and average it. As far as I know for skaters when comparing points we’re always listing their ranks among their peers (was top 30 in scoring, etc) and not adding up league points and averaging it out. Technically it’s median but that’s the number id want to use anyways

Yup. Even including all teams only Coyotes get added as a team that’s waited longer. Jets arguable but certainly not a continuous drought as you aren’t “waiting” if you don’t have a team

This somehow makes the Sabres playoff drought worse. 17 of these teams have made the *final* since the Sabres last played a playoff game, more than half the league absurd
