  1. My personal, oft-stated goals for what I deemed the “no stone unturned” offseason our fanbase deserved: 1) management overhaul 2) assistant coaches/special teams coaches overhaul 3) a clear upgrade to the F unit 4) a clear upgrade to the D unit 5) a clear upgrade up the G tandem 1) negatory 2) negatory 3) negatory (as of now, downgraded) 4) affirmative (Kesselring) 5) negatory ..still time, but 1,2, and 5 are a lost cause Can we accomplish 3 while maintaining 4? Time will tell 3,4 5 are the roster components and with a backwards, forwards, and no significant change, respectively, currently, I see the current roster in about the same place, and in about the same place as dudacek does above: same old same old 79
  2. Need to keep up, Timmins is a top 4 D. Adams knows what he’s doing. Laughing at all of the little stuff when he has OH SO MANY colossal f*ck ups is just mean spirited We should be punching up - there is no way one can punch any lower than Kevyn Adams Frankly it reflects poorly on the fans, to continuously poke fun at someone probably not even capable of understanding what exactly his job description even is. True he would have difficulty piecing together the criticisms should he ever stumble across this website…but I mean someone might explain it to him
  3. And another one.
  4. Agree, I’m not really worried about the Byram deal. I think the bidding market will help offset Adams natural inability and we end up with a player tantamount to Byram: either Byram himself or another player who can help you win if put in a specific situation the bigger move to me is one where we see actual improvement: we haven’t made a single one this offseason! Is anyone else noticing this? Regardless of what happens with Byram, we need a futures trade. Right now for a F or for a D should we trade Byram for a F.
  5. Lumping on the the bold here (and touching on 1 at the same time), there’s a level of disingenuousness in “we don’t have to win a cup to enjoy it”’ as you point out in that no one is labelling that as their bar for enjoyment. As you allude to with the bold, it IS about enjoying the experience: one of the most negative aspects of never making the playoffs is actually that our *regular seasons* have no meaning. We haven’t been able to enjoy the league and feel a part of it for so long because we’ve realized our regular seasons are DOA by Canadian thanksgiving
  6. Not everything. Just the vast majority for a 5th of a century
  7. “X”, for being too realistically on point while negative
  8. What a GM Ya, we are looking for another McLeod trade for sure. Haven’t gotten it yet in an offseason you’d think they’d be even more urgently wanting to make it Headed into 6 Ppl should actually give up there as I’ve said: he’s not going to meaningfully address the position if he had any inclination to we’d have see a smidgen of effort We won’t see goalie addressed until a new regime
  9. All they’ve done is increase the likelihood they’ll need him to play a larger role
  10. Best case scenario is this is essentially our tweaked on the fringes roster from last season that somehow gets enough from Roslovic in place of Peterka that most of the Kesselring upgrade value is pocketed. I feel like that’s essentially what Adams wanted: the team again + Kesselring
  11. Benson - Kulich - Thompson Roslovic - Norris - Tuch Zucker - McLeod - Quinn Greenway - Krebs - Doan Danforth Byram - Dahlin Power - Kesselring Samuelsson - Timmins Johnson
  12. Ya man I mean you took it a little seriously. My point is kinda self explanatory not a rigid data based metric: usually guys you hear called “bottom 6” are guys you’d ideally want on your 4th line, etc no one is calling a true first liner “top 6”. MacKinnon isn’t a “top 6” player my post was a poke about the intricacies and nature of human language and verbiage more so that strictly statistically based So then the statement is wrong regardless: he’s a mid 6er already not by potential the terminology is bad that’s my point. The vagueness of the terminology breeds error by nature
  13. We are on the Richard timeline now
  14. We heard a lot about the good fancy stats of the 4th liners last year too also, miss me with the “middle 6” stuff. It doesn’t really fool anyone, it’s like what people say just to be nice. He’s a third liner might as well call him “top 9” connotations Middle-6 = third liner top-6 = second liner bottom-6 = 4th liner first liner = first liner
  15. Almost assuredly There are also rumblings that waterworld is considered a bad film by some
  16. Not contradictory when you are willingly spending less, spending what you do have the allotment for mistakenly is an even more egregious error
  17. Also it’s weird to have already been here for 5 years Replicates the toxic environment, you say???????
  18. Former players quickly mentioning the commitment to winning is quite the canary in the coal mine
  19. You’ll have to watch this space. I’ll keep an edit. Don’t know if I’ll be able to fine an exact quote but there will be a lot of funny stuff - - - “We have to embrace expectations,” general manager Kevyn Adams said Wednesday as the Sabres opened training camp. “I look at pressure as a privilege.” This was Adams saying they needed to embrace the expectations of making the playoffs, *2 years ago* pReSsUrE iS a PrIvAlEdGe 😂 “When I think about playoffs, our expectation of course is there but, honestly, our expectation is to win the Stanley Cup,” Adams said. “I think our window’s open right now and our goal is to be giving ourselves a chance every single year.” - - - Thought this quote from Friedman provided by dudacek is pretty interesting as it’s not just marek spitballing and Elliot is usually pretty reliable “They’ve talked a lot about this internally, if they don’t go to the playoffs this year, there could be big consequences. Everyone understands there are no excuses this season. ”You’re looking at a lot of other players and you’re saying guys, it’s not good enough to talk about it.”
  20. It’s a poor argument in general. Whether Adams believes the team “can possibly” make the playoffs is far less salient than the question of whether he did everything in his power to ensure the result was as likely as possible if someone wants to argue we don’t deserve the later, the Crest would be ashamed of you I can find it, but I hate that you’ve put me to work
  21. The goal is to field a team that has the possibility of making it after seeing to financial concerns, first. It’s entirely possible for them to believe the team has a chance with them also being fully aware they haven’t maximized the chances of it: that’s the equation
