We have one of the best goal scorers in the league making 7.14m abd Scheif at 6.125m and Ehlers (arguably as good as Marner) at 6m. Helle at 6.17m. You don't build a contender by overpaying people...just look at TO and the Coilers.

I think they have a very good chance of winning, just not as good as the Jets. 88, 99 and 95 before the humidex up here in the frozen tundra the next 3 days...

I wouldn't give him more than 8m is what I'm saying yes. Because Duchene RyJo are over paid does not make it okay to overpay Marner.

I'd love to have Marner on the Jets but his AAV is about 3m too much...maybe even more. I'd give up a lot for Jones if he re-signed long term for 8.75m or so but I doubt he signs with a Canadian team. Werenski is another player I'd give a lot for if he were to re-sign. CBJ need a center though. Laine needs someone to set him up...if he re-signs there. Tarasov would be interesting but I don't think the Sabres should be interested in one of the CBJ goalies unless they looking for a backup and their goalies are making too much for that aren't they? The Sabres need a bona fide starter.

Reaves is a piece of shat that shouldn't even be in the league. Should get 10 games, probably gets 2 or 3 and he will appeal it. The thing is, Vegas gets better because they will replace him with someone that knows how toplay hockey.

I think the powers that be will let the American team into the country under increased restrictions. Teams must fly direct on a charter and all will be isolated something like the bubble was. Having said that, That might not happen. Winnipeg is the worst area on the continent for the virus right now so that might not happen. We are sending Covid patients to other province's ICUs. Not really. Pionk is best partnered with a D first player as well. That is why Maurice pairs him with boat anchor people call Forbort. Dylan DeMelo would be a good pairing if I am thinking about someone from the Jets.

He needs to be paired with a defensively responsible vet so he can do his thing. He does need to learn the D side of the game though.

If Rhino won't sign, I'd trade him straight up for Konecny. Without looking at salary caps of both teams... Eichel, Risto, Rhino and Skinner (1m retained) for... Provorov, Ghost (1m retained), Frost, Konecny, Myers, Foerster and a 1st in 2021. Cozens, Frost, Mitts and Foerster down the middle in 3 years would be very nice. So nice you could move one to wing or trade one. Provorov is a bona fide 1D man (Chevy tried to get him for Laine but they wouldn't bite). Konecny is a very good winger and Quinn will be in a few years as well. Throw in Olof, Tage and the rest of the forwards in the system and you have a good group of forwards in 2-3 years and most around the same age. You'd also be getting rid of 3 players (two in undesirable contract situations) that probably wouldn't object to a trade. I'd sign Anderson and one of Brossoit or Smith for backup goalies. I'd also get a coach with head coaching experience in the NHL but not Torts. edit ... Play hardball with the upcoming RFAs. No need to offer them too much if they haven't proved anything. If you don't make the playoffs next year with that lineup, you would start making them the year after. Either that or I've smoked too much herb??? Did Duchene really get that much in a trade?

Buffalo should not be taking a contract like Kassian's back in a deal for Rhino...or anyone else not named Skinner or Okposo.

I am tired of Maurice as a coach but you can't deny he had a great game plan and got the players to buy in 100%. We were supposed to lose 4 straight to the Oilers too...good thing we actually play the games instead of going by predictions. I thought we were out of the playoffs with one win to be honest. Kudos to Scheif's line for giving up O to help shut down McDrai.

I'd make the trade even up...if 2.5m were retained on Eichel's contract!!!!!!!!! Seriously though, Eichel will not be coming here...Chevy will not be willing to pay the price and Scheif has opened some eyes here with his D play for the last 8 or so games.

Nice to get the team some rest while the Habs and TO beat each other up. @Hoss, KC is not going anywhere, he's our best goal scorer. Smith played unbelievable through the whole series and kept Deadmonton in every game. Coilers fans are as big crybabies as Leafs' fans.

I said nothing about the base...only mentioned the cupboard. Wheeler played all of 26 games for ATL and turned into a points machine later while here. Buff Wheeler Enstrom Little Ladd are/was all good players for us. The prospect pool was empty which Chevy re-stocked. Off the top of my head Chiarot and Postma (not very good) were the only prospects to play for the Jets.
