  1. I'd put Satan ahead of Foligno
  2. I'm going to mildly disagree with you here. I watched the game and we were up 2-1, was called into work, by the time I arrived at my destination we lost 3-2. Having said that the main difference I saw in the team when it was playing well was ROR was a beast on faceoffs, he was winning 70% of them and the Sabres were controlling the puck. This game ROR not only didn't take anywhere near as many as he has but he lost over half of them. Not to blame him but we weren't controlling possession because of it and it appeared that the Senators were controlling play, which they were but because we were working so hard to regain possession over and over again. We aren't a very good team to begin with and with our best player out, to blame their problems on work ethic I believe is not giving a fair impression on what happened in this game. I'm also really starting to come around on Nelson, top pairing Dman, I don't think so but he has really improved his game down in Rochester.
  3. I hope the game isn't as slow as this GDT
  4. Meh, you would have said the same thing about Nelson a month ago
  5. The total lack of responsibility in this country is mind blowing. None of this maniacs friends, family, school mates, school authorities noticed the change in behavior of this kid and stepped in?????? No the gun lobby made him do it. And no I'm not a gun lobbyist by any stretch of the imagination because you can't buy a beer at 18 but you can buy an automatic weapon and have an arsenal of bullets at 18????????? No sense in this. I truly feel for the families in this situation, can't even imagine it happening to me. #2 Also feel for the families of drug addiction but especially in the opiod tradgedy you don't get addicted by doing it once. It actually is a choice to become an addict. Maybe some are more prone to this disease from family or whatever but it is still a choice especially street drugs. The user has a lack of personal responsibilities in this and the aftermath always falls on their family and society. We all want to blame someone else for these tragedies, politicians, gun lobby, people transporting drugs over the border everybody but the person themselves and anyone involved with these people.
  6. A very big game in the race for 29th place. LETS GO BUFFALO
  7. Shouldn't the majority of the last 30 or so posts have gone in the Complaint Thursday thread??? Talk about being an impatient crew.
  8. Yes I agree, although I've really enjoyed the improved play, I'm not going to fall for this like I did Bylsma's first year. As for ROR, he not only is playing like a beast lately but I think his increased TOI is from him taking so many faceoffs as opposed to Jack being out. There's been a definite change there, he always was our main faceoff man but now it's almost like he's our only faceoff man.
  9. I think he just allowed Jack, Kane and ROR to do the heavy lifting for him and he just played a good complemenatary game. Housley broke that pattern early in the year and I don't think he knew how to handle it. These past 20 games or so, he has completely turned it around, he looks and plays like a completely different player than before, he's taking control and he still makes a mistake here and there but you can tell his confidence is as high as its ever been. I was wondering when your Samcrush was going to come back to by the way.
  10. 6-4-1 in their last 11 the boys are getting better
  11. That was too funny, were the guys relying on Jack too much and now they're just playing???Different team out there
  12. I'm with you Diddy, after playing the Laffs last night and this being their 3rd game in 4 nights, we'll look better against them than we probably should if they were rested. Plus your right, we have been more competitive this past month. Besides NS is getting infectious On a side note, has anyone watched the women's hockey in the Olympics, that USA-Canada game should be a good one. I'm actually pretty impressed with the women's teams, their much better than what you see in the WNBA or women's soccer league games.
  13. ROR with his 400th NHL point today Congrats Ryan
  14. No doubt, get your head out of your @ss
  15. The GOOD Sabres on 4 game road victory streak Sabres 5-3-1 in their last 9 games Nelson starting to look like a NHL defenseman Reinhart starting to look like the player we all wanted him to be Kane scored a goal Very nice and well earned victory in Boston yesterday Sabres starting to look and play like an NHL Team DD still in play, Dahlin Derby The BAD Sabre goaltender situation still bad Jack's unknown injury situation, plans under construction for possible bunker next to Bogosian because of annual injuries ESPN Preview http://www.espn.com/nhl/preview?gameId=400962459 Another lost season for the Buffalo Sabres may have taken a difficult turn. The Sabres could be without leading scorer Jack Eichel when they take on the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night. Eichel left in the first period of Buffalo's 4-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Saturday with a lower-body injury after an awkward fall. First-year coach Phil Housley did not update Eichel's condition after the game."We'll have to re-evaluate it (Sunday)," Housley told the Buffalo News, which noted that Eichel's injury was to his right leg and that he could not put any weight on it as he headed to the locker room. It would be a huge blow if Eichel is sidelined...... Click on Link to view more..... LETS GO BUFFALO VS
  16. I think if you discount empty net goals it's actually 24, I believe you make your own luck but every mistake this team makes results in a goal for the opposition. Every mistake Risto makes is also HUGE. How does he miss Jack with that pass in OT by that much. We never had possession of the puck afterward. Henrique must have shot that GWG with a bazooka because it didn't seem like Lehner made much of a move on it
  17. Dang you're right
  18. It may be a good year but the best combined year was 1970, UB went to the final 4 in Division II led by Randy Smith who also was an All American in soccer St. Bonaventure went to the final 4 led by Bob Lanier Niagara made it to the top 16 led by Calvin Murphy
  19. Yes you've been gone too long also
  20. The maps I remember from way back are: The never left NY City person map
  21. On your opinion, I watched the first 2 episodes yesterday, If you like this sort of thing it is definetly one crazy and zany show. I liked it, hopefully it continues thru the rest of the episodes. The music couldn't be better also
  22. ESPN Preview: http://www.espn.com/nhl/preview/_/gameId/400962380 BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Things went surprisingly well for the Buffalo Sabres in their recent three-game road trip. Their return home? Not so much. The Sabres followed up their best stretch of the season with a lackluster display in a 3-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. They'll look to rebound with another home game against the Florida Panthers on Thursday."Our five-on-five game wasn't where it needed to be," Sabres coach Phil Housley said, according to the team's website. "We talked this morning about where they are as a desperate team. They just played with more urgency. I didn't think we respected the position they were in. Coming off a road trip, you would've thought we would have gained confidence and been sharp."Defenseman Jake McCabe scored for Buffalo against the Devils late in the third period with the team already down 2-0. It was a performance more on par for the majority of the season for the Sabres (14-27-9). Before coming home, the Sabres exceeded expectations in a Western Canada road trip with three wins in three games -- with two of those wins coming via shutout. CLICK on the link for more info Sun Sentinel Preview: Scouting report: The Panthers complete a short two-game road trip against the Sabres on Thursday night for their final visit of the season to Buffalo. Florida returned from the All-Star break by snapping a three-game losing streak with a 4-1 win over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night. Harri Sateri made 32 saves in picking up his first career NHL win, and four different Panthers scored goals. … Florida won the first meeting of the season against Buffalo, beating the Sabres 4-1 on Nov. 10 at the KeyBank Center. The Sabres enter the game with the worst record in the Eastern Conference, and the second-worst in the NHL, accumulating just 37 points through 50 games. They had a season-long, three-game winning streak end on Tuesday night with a 3-1 loss to New Jersey. All-Star forward Jack Eichel has been one of the hottest players in the NHL over the last six-plus weeks, with 25 points since Dec. 13. Only three players have more during that span. … Panthers goaltenders James Reimer (pulled groin) and Roberto Luongo (lower-body) are not expected to practice until next week. Forward Jamie McGinn (upper-body) missed Tuesday’s game. LETS GO BUFFALO VS
  23. I wonder if he also took a hit for the lockeroom becoming a mess at the end of last year with him being the captain of the ship. They may have also moved on because of the addition of Pommy.
  24. Having tired of the lousy streaming video I receive from MSG, I have been watching more of the opponents feeds lately. One of the things mentioned on the Sabres was if you pressure their Dmen they'll cough up the puck repeatedly. To me a truer comment hasn't been said. When we play a fast hard forchecking team we look like dog doo doo (Dallas-NJ) and when we don't we look ok (Calgary-Edmonton-Vancouver). Yesterday's game was a perfect example of most of our Dmen being unable to move the puck thru the zone and coughing it up or just throwing it up in the air to center ice which just allows a line change and the opposition just regains the puck and continues its attack. Forwards were open and the outlet pass just was never there. There were times we had open forwards on one side of the ice and Falk, McCabe and Nelson were forcing it on the opposite side and were losing possession, over and over and over again. Personally I think the forwards are playing much better defense which gives the illusion that the Dmen are. Nfreeman I thought the same thing on the GWG against Lehner but it appeared that Risto deflected the puck on the end of his stick which Robin couldn't react to Reinhart is starting to come around, he's been noticeably better lately. Jack is turning into the $10M man. He made one play in the first period where 3 Devils tried to trap him by the boards and he just made an incredible move to free himself from all 3. His confidence level is thru the roof right now.
