It's bad enough around here with the usual suspects jumping off the cliff when we've barely played a 1/5 of the season but when you guys do it, GFW, is there no hope at all?? ???

Oh ye of little faith, the difference in last year and this year is the team seemed to quit last year the further the season went along. I don't see quit in this team and I also see that none of the teams they've played lately have taken them lightly. They're all giving the Sabres their best shot. Are they going to turn it around starting today?? I hope so but even if they don't they will shortly. The only thing I didn't like about yesterday is no-one appeared to go after Kuchodirty and somebody should have stepped in for Skinner late in the game. McCabe and Risto have to be better enforcers for the team IMO. Having said that I'm wondering if they were under league orders not to engage in any fisticuffs while in Sweden because I can't believe there wasn't a brawl out there yesterday. -
??? I have 5 players on bye this week plus my defense, Rams were free so I grabbed them, I didn't see your above post until just now.

We occasionally sleep late too, actually we're redoing master bath so I've been busy -
Didn't mean that as a blast on Buffalo but the guy has played there since 2012, he's a professional athlete, he's under 30, he has a multimillion dollar annual salary and the weather there is pretty sweet in comparison to WNY in the winter. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure Buffalo may not be his first choice.
-
He better be and Botts better be a really good salesman because moving from LA to Buffalo is going to be a very hard sell plus he'll need a pretty nice UFA salary to boot starting next year.

Thanks for the kind thoughts but I think what I wrote wasn't from lack of appreciation but from pointing out items that may have been missed. I actually am quite amused concerning the logo comments. To me it's an ongoing joke that I'm not offended by in the least. -

For the 50th year anniversary I keep trying to put fresh items in there that some may or may not remember. One thing I'm surprised at that no-one has commented on is the array of Sabres jerseys I try to incorporate in these pics. Even in the same era, I try to pick out the slight differences in if not all, most of them. -
VS The return of Sabre hockey in Sweden against the dangerous Tampa Bay Lightning. It appears several SabreSpacers will attend the game and hopefully get seen in the crowd. With a multitude of players from Sweden on both teams especially the Sabres, it should give some added incentive to take some points in the beginning to be crowded playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. WOW, there I said it, it's November and we're still in the hunt. It is early but the team even after a bit of a losing streak is still regarded nationally as a team to be reckoned with moving forward. Sabres are just asking to take a chance on them.* Courtesy of: https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com TONIGHT’S/ This Afternoons GAME LIGHTNING at SABRES This is the first of four meetings between the Sabres and Lightning this season. Last meeting: Tampa Bay defeated Buffalo 2-1 (SO) in Tampa Bay on Feb. 21. Next meeting: Saturday, Nov. 9 in Stockholm, Sweden The Sabres are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games vs. the Lightning; 3-6-1 at home. This is the 103rd game all-time between Buffalo and Tampa Bay; Buffalo has an 55-38-9 series record. The Sabres are 26-19-5 at home against the Lightning all-time. THIS DATE IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 8-5-4 all-time on November 8. November 8, 1980: Danny Gare scores twice in a 10-second span in a 3-3 tie at Washington. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW The Sabres are 20-17-4 all-time in the first game after a break of at least five days (excludes season-openers). Buffalo had the No. 3 power play in the league before Thursday’s games, converting on 14 of the team’s 52 power plays this season (26.9%). Only the Boston Bruins (16) had scored more goals with the man advantage this season. The Sabres have scored the first goal in 10 of their 15 games so far this season, going 8-1-1 in those contests. Only Boston (11) had scored first in more games entering play Thursday. THINK GLOBALLY Tonight’s game is the second of three NHL games to be contested in Europe this season as part of the 2019 NHL Global Series, following the season-opening matchup between the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers in Prague, Czech Republic. The final game of the series will take place between the Sabres and Lightning tomorrow at Ericsson Globe. This marks the third straight year (and the eighth season overall) that the NHL has contested regular-season games in Europe. This is the second time the Sabres have been part of those games, as the team defeated the Anaheim Ducks in Helsinki, Finland and the Los Angeles Kings in Berlin, Germany as part of the 2011 NHL Premiere. HOME AWAY FROM HOME The Sabres are playing a regular-season home game away from the team’s home arena for the eighth time in franchise history. Buffalo is 1-3-3 in the seven previous games, with the win coming against the Anaheim Ducks in Helsinki, Finland as part of the 2011 NHL Premiere. To expound on ERod, his passes were behind the player, in his skates and his decision making was just as bad. That 3 on1 he totally screwed up should have put him on the bench for the rest of the game. He single handedly killed that line. -
Aggregate score of 19-3 in DC. I'd call that an Astro-nomical butt whooping. 4-1, 8-1, 7-1, I called it in 6, I may be right for a change.

VS Your league leading Buffalo Sabres are back at home tonight against the much improved Arizona Coyotes. Yes league leading Sabres, can you deny this team anymore after they have had a goal differential of +12 which is a point per game and 3rd in the league behind the Bruins and Avs. Is this team a playoff contender finally, do you believe in this magical season?? With 4 players in the top 41 in scoring in the league and all 4 forward lines with a member in the top 7 in team scoring the forwards are doing their best to keep the team rolling. Some complaints concerning the team after their 2-0 victory in the 3rd game in 4 nights but those same Red Wings took the Blues to OT before succumbing in a 5-4 loss. Jack Eichel has also scored the 3rd most points before his 23rd birthday in team history. Yes today is his birthday. Can this team keep their playoff run going, (do you believe in magic)*?? Courtesy of: https://sabresdigitalpressbox.com TONIGHT’S GAME COYOTES at SABRES This is the first of two meetings between the Sabres and Coyotes this season. Last meeting: Buffalo defeated Arizona 3-1 in Buffalo on Dec. 13, 2018. Next meeting: Saturday, Feb. 29 in Arizona The Sabres are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games vs. the Coyotes; 6-2-2 at home. This is the 81st game all-time between Buffalo and Arizona; Buffalo has a 48-23-9 series record. The Sabres are 26-8-7 on the road against the Coyotes all-time. THIS DATE IN SABRES HISTORY The Sabres are 7-6-6 all-time on October 28. October 28, 1981: Ric Seiling scores his 100th NHL goal in a 6-2 win vs. the St. Louis Blues. October 28, 1992: Alexander Mogilny scores twice as the Sabres and Maple Leafs battle to a 4-4 tie. THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW The Sabres have scored the first goal in nine of their 12 games so far this season, going 8-1-0 in those contests. Only the Washington Capitals (6-1-2) had scored first in as many games as Buffalo entering play Sunday. Buffalo is 14-3-1 in its last 18 games against Arizona, including a 9-2-1 record since the beginning of the 2013-14 season. The Sabres have the No. 4 power play in the league, converting on a league-high 13 of their 45 power plays this season (28.9%). Entering play Sunday, the Sabres joined the Washington Capitals as one of just two teams with four players with at least five goals each this season (Eichel – 6, Olofsson – 6, Skinner – 6, Reinhart – 5). Continuing the 50th Anniversary IMO the greatest Power Play Teams in Sabres History: All stats are Sabre records unless stated: 91’-92’ 80 GP 105 Goals Most in Sabre history; 9th in NHL History: Only team in Top 10 with losing record: Thank God there were no Fancy Stats 5v5 Guys back then!!

I agree with this portion, we just played 2 straight 3 games in 4 days, 5 of them on the road which although we had 1 game at home with the travel it almost was a 6 game road trip and they won 4 of them. Their not getting in morning skates which is probably a good thing but what seems like it's getting missed here is that they are not getting any practice days in to correct whatever the coaching staff thinks they are doing wrong. The one thing I think HCRK has done that has showed dividends this year is put together an experienced and knowledgeable staff. The GK coach has them playing with confidence, the defense is on a completely different page although Steve Smith was here last year and Taylor has given the young guys someone they already know to talk to. Mistakes happen in games but what I see are much less instances of the opposition attacking with 3 on 1 and 3 on 2 advantages and even when there's a 3 on 3 everyone seems to instinctively know who to take to minimize problems unlike last year where they looked like a discombobulated mess. Perfect no but this team is light years from the 2nd half team we saw last year. -

I wonder who'll get the left side on Mitts wing?? It'll be a bit of a kick in the gonads for Gilmour to sit again after being the 7th D this whole time. -
This is my last working Friday, I will retire next Friday. If anybody thinks I'm going to do any work next Friday, they're crazier than me. In fact I may not do any work all of next week also but I may clean up my desk. I tell you what, it's a bit surreal sending out announcement/good-bye emails, I won't miss work but letting people you may or may not have seen in a while know that they touched your life in some meaningful way is good for the soul and having those same people respond back in the same way, I have to admit to fighting back the tears a couple of times. This truly is a Fantastic Friday for me. My biggest fear is gaining about 25lbs. in the next week with all the lunch/dinner/drinking invitations I've received the past few days.

Actually I was referring to @nfreeman not you, sorry you took it wrong or I quoted wrong.
