  2. Are some of you guys really getting your panties all wadded up over a Chad D. article?? Really?? He may or may not be close but holy cow just hold on before you jump off a cliff with this. Let's see what the real deal turns out to be before the inevitable this sucks thread comes out 😃😁😇
  3. Thorny the guy OWNS the team. Is it possible that he just wanted an update from the previous GMs rankings to what they were thinking now?? Does everything have to be drama when it concerns Pegula?? Could he just be inquiring about what direction they were going in for the draft??
  4. Here's hoping you had a good one and you've become one, the good one's never get enough credit for what they do.
  5. I guess it all depends on how extended the family is/are, what daily activities were available and for how long. If you for the most part get along together or rarely see each other it can be a good experience, if you have different activities that everyone can pick and choose it could work, if it's like my father-in-law says on family visits are like dead fish... after 3-4 days it starts to stink keep it to a 3 day weekend activity. My last family vacation was on an Alaskan cruise, we all chose our activities for the day/s and the only formal get together was when we met up somewhere and for dinner. It was a blast, everyone had a good time and no-one was around each other long enough to get into an argument. It was confined to our kids, their spouses and kids, we live in 3 different cities so it worked out fine. Then again if my brother was involved it probably wouldn't have worked out. Everyone is the same and different all at the same time.
  6. I'm not advocating a Rob Ray type guy but if you don't think Reaves, Wilson, Chara when he was with Boston, Foligno (either one) as examples don't keep the opposition in check then I think you're underestimating their value.
  7. Hits, not afraid to get in front of the net, and hopefully keep Cozens and Dahlin from getting so many cheap shots thrown their way. Right now who's afraid of anyone on our 3rd and 4th line. He's also young enough to keep around for a few years while some of the younger guns get a chance to develop. Younger and cheaper than Risto also. Without looking it up I'm guessing they'll save close to 3M on that deal.
  8. It could be that they want the trades done before the hire so that he answers questions about the job and doesn’t get bombarded with Jack, Samson and Risto talk. I’m sure they’ve had the talks with what they’re planning to do with the real candidates already
  9. Fast power forward with some upside and it'll give us someone that isn't a big Fn weenie in the forward group.
  10. According to Corey Masisak the NJ Devils writer for The Athletic: They are going to lose 1 of those forwards to Seattle, a trade for Risto alleviates 1 of them. Who cares if he loves Buffalo or not. He'll be a RFA after next year so we get a LW power forward and get to decide if it's a good fit.
  11. 2 different trades
  12. Miles Wood and Nolan Patrick for Risto and 1 of our 3rd's this year.
  13. Oh wait I'm retired, everyday is a summer day!!!
  14. So are you blaming Hoss' scary monster gm that's under his bed or can we also blame Adams for trading Rene Robert back in the day also?? Just because a former GM did something has no bearing what the new guy will do. LA won't be their only possible trading partner for Jack E and it's also just as big a possibility that it is Reinhart and/or Risto that goes there. I don't send any of them unless to a Eastern Conference team also by the way, I don't want to see any of them more than twice a year.
  15. Honest question, who received the better player in the Islander-Leafs trade with Tavares?? Yes I know it wasn't a trade but who would have figured the Islanders would be in the semi's this year and the Leafs haven't gotten out of the 1st round yet. The problem is does whatever haul the Sabres get make them a better team in the long run and if so why would anyone care if it meets who's ever criteria for what makes a good trade?
  16. I'll 2nd @WildCard's bolded comment but what I find questionable not of your work but until we know exactly what Jack's prognosis is we could have a spectrum of we get basically nothing for him if he's really bad off to getting a bonanza if his condition has improved enough to get almost full value for him. At this point no-one outside Jack's management team and the Sabres truly know and they may not know yet either. What appears to be the only sure thing is that Jack doesn't make it to August 2021 as a Buffalo Sabres player if he's tradable. Also for those thinking they'd rather jump off a cliff than do this, who do you think won the Tavares free agency signing, Toronto or the NY Islanders because it's the Islanders who seem to be doing best without him.
  17. Don’t get that boy riled up, l would imagine he’s still in rehab!!! 😇😇
  18. That series may only last 5 games if TBL takes the next game
  19. I think there's a lot more to Jack's disgruntlement with the Sabres than just surgery or no surgery. The pandemic, his early injuries and then the neck injury just made this year a giant disappointment, add on his relationship with RK then after years of trying to win, KA asks him if he wants to stay or go. He's probably thinking I've been thru the worst here and did everything asked and above to make this work and now you're asking me if I want to stay?? WTF kind of question is that?? Then I didn't hear that he had a problem with the 12 week rehab but even if surgery is needed he wasn't going to get the procedure he and his staff wanted. They change how they perform surgery on specific areas all the time in the medical community, who gives a rats butt if it hasn't been done on a hockey player yet. Not saying he's right or wrong but I can definitely see his side of things also. He's been one of the few bright spots on this team the past few years. I'm hoping that things improve thru the rehab he just went thru and if they do trade him they get enough back for him that the team in the end gets to move forward and didn't take 3 steps back to take one forward. The guy isn't a brain surgeon, a rocket scientist or a person who's going to change the history of the world for the better, he's a hockey player who wants to play hockey again and would prefer to win rather than lose. He's not the evil person some are making him out to be. Wooohooo, I just noticed I hit 2,000 posts,
  20. Why don't we just have an old fashioned avatar bet with @LGR4GM with Beniers, @Buffalonill takes Guenther and @pi2000 takes Power and see who wins. It will make some of the back and forth from those guys worth the constant rehash of their views. Personally after the Quinn pick last year instead of Rossi it wouldn't surprise me if Adams takes Mason McTavish with the 1st pick this year. What I suspect will happen from the Adams interview yesterday was Jack is all but gone already and whoever we get in return will answer who we pick in the draft. As for getting Beniers with an Anaheim trade, I don't think he'll last to #3.
  21. William Nylander said the same thing about his brother, how did that work out?? Read page 53 and didn't get to 54 yet, I see I wasn't the only one thinking that.
  22. Montreaaaaaaaaal!!!!! Kill the Leafs
  23. I've been to Sabres games at both Raleigh and Nashville, non traditional hockey towns trying to gain or attain a fan base of local fans and not get over run with Blackhawk fans and Caps fans. Once in, your attire doesn't matter but getting tickets if you don't have friends or family in the area can be difficult. Trust me on that one. When you're winning it's easy to have fans in the stands but if you have to go thru a rebuild, having a loyal fan base is crucial to those teams. On the other hand, Dallas has always been easy for me to get tickets and your attire doesn't matter there either. In fact I was pleasantly surprised how many Sabres jerseys were worn in all 3 places and how friendly the arenas were.
  24. Most of those trades aren't nearly enough for Jack. If you do Vegas the deal should be Jack and Bryson and Boston's #2 for Tuch, Theodore, Krebs and Vegas' #1. Then you're talking and the only way Vegas does this is if they don't get out of the divisional rounds. You won't need Bryson because Theodore and Dahlin will take up 3/4's of LHD's TOI.
  25. Wish for better @Weave
