  1. I feel like I'm in a rock song loop here with you 2 playing Billy Preston's "Will It Go Round In Circles" again. @dudacek is a Rod Stewart "Reason to Believe" kind of optimist and @Thorny is a R.E.M. "Everybody Hurts" kind of dour guy. What this team lacks is organizational depth to overcome injuries, sickness, etc..... The optimistic outlook is we're finally starting to build depth not with NHL ready guys but players that are/will be better skilled eventually and the I'm sick and tired of losing attitude (which we all endure/feel) that everybody sucks and nothing in the short term will get better because the young guys won't make it better for awhile. One of the problems isn't that we don't have a true #1C but we don't have a true #1 Winger as well. Does Panarin, Kucherov, Kane need a #1C or are they still #1 wingers that need someone to build chemistry to succeed. Our #1 talent level probably only includes Dahlin and really right now nobody else.
  2. Surprised Ryan Johnson not on the USA radar and Brock Faber is for the Gophers.
  3. I hadn't thought of Rutta but with the expected departures of Butcher, Miller, Pysyk and Hagg, you have just lost over 9M in salary cap next year. If I keep anyone of those, I'd pick Hagg as your 7th Dman along with Bryson/Samuelsson as your 3rd pairing LD 8th man. You have the spare cash to go after someone like Klingberg as your 1st or 2nd pairing guy and keep Fitzgerald as your 3rd pairing RD. Right now Dahlin is getting heavy minutes and Power eventually/shortly will also get heavy minutes so that 3rd pairing duo isn't going to get much besides PK time IMO. Pysyk shows flashes of being competent but there's better guys to get and they have the cap available to upgrade that spot significantly if they want. Dahlin-Power-Samuelsson-Bryson-Joker-Fitzgerald-Hagg and Klingberg/or another solid vet and you still have your young core to build off of plus Jiricek or another RD with one of those 3 1st rounders they have this year. They're looking solid on the backend in the near future. Pysyk isn't needed.
  4. I also think that with the impending software which will follow player movement while in play they’ll need someone to decipher the info coaches and others can understand
  5. I guess this is what we can expect from a guy who still uses a pencil and an eraser 😃😃 on the job Thank you sir from us former software and mechanical engineers
  6. He can’t say he wasn’t warned that the hopium 💩 was addicting!!
  7. Well hopefully if there's anything good out of this is that they both didn't show any symptoms prior to practice and we have few games the next week.
  8. Their time will come, right now any moves to take time away from the jag vets will only diminish whatever assets we'll get back for them at the trade deadline. JJP and probably Quinn still need time in the AHL to develop and Krebs vision is probably the part of his game most ready to move up but you don't want to put to much pressure on him either. I'd rather have used a different word than pressure but I haven't had my full of coffee yet to come up with a better one.
  9. I agree plus he’s not on site he’s doing the game via the same feed we get, give the guy a break already.
  10. You've been awfully nice, patient and funny lately, your Scrooge reputation has been tarnished. Did you get visited by 3 different ghosts this Holiday Season??
  11. As a purchaser of a ROR, Eichel and Risto jersey............. DON'T DO IT!!!!!
  12. Fitzgerald without a doubt made a good 1st impression that game. What I'd like to see if they pick up an UFA this summer is to go after Klingberg of the Stars. Dallas most likely will not be able to resign him plus he's a veteran presence that won't break the bank and if I'm not mistaken he wears an "A" with them so he'd be a good veteran partner with Power. He plays top 4 in Dallas so he wouldn't be over his head in that role. Plus being a Swede he'd fit in with the boys. Dahlin-Jokiharju Power-Klingberg Samuelsson-Fitzgerald
  13. You been hitting on that hopium pipe, haven't you?? Be careful, it'll get you.
  14. Well if Yuri's very good post is going to turn into a Beatles Cover thread, here goes a couple more
  15. Observations and other funny things about Dahlin He leads the team in TOI by slightly over 3.5 minutes per game over next player up Colin Miller He is tied for the lead in PPGs and leads the team in PP Points He is on a 50 point pace for the year Olofsson has been in the news for not scoring goals but he's tied for 2nd in assists and is on a 63 point pace for the year Skinner is on a 50 point pace and a 26 goal pace for the year Hinostroza has been playing well of late and has quietly been on a 38 point pace for the year Thompson and Skinner are #1 and 2 in goals but also in shots Cozens leads the team in shooting percentage and along with Asplund is on a 41 point pace for the year
  16. I'm going to disagree with you here because I just don't think this is the year to make a jump into the playoffs. We are not better than Toronto, Florida, Tampa Bay, Boston, Pittsburgh, Carolina, Washington or the Rangers this year. I think next year both Boston and Pittsburgh are going to see their ages finally catch up with them so they'll be a shuffle of the decks so to speak. Too soon for this team even with better GKs to make a jump. The young core needs to correct their mistakes and take their lumps and be ready to go next year. Development is the key for this team this year, they're just not ready this year.
  17. I don't think anyone is saying we don't have an issue with our GKs, I think what he was trying to say is that is not the only problem on this team. The defensive awareness on this team especially on the backend is almost as bad and is a contributing factor on what's going on. Having said that, I don't think winning this year was anywhere near the top priority of this organization. It was not only developing their new core that was already here or in some developing league (AHL-NCAA-Overseas). Developing and restocking the depth of this team going forward. One of our biggest issues even when we were a fringe playoff team when healthy but when the inevitable injuries occur we had no-one that was near NHL ready to step in and the wheels fell off. This team needs to develop depth in the organization as well as any one position including the GK. They need IMO to stay the course and after this year, reprioritize what they've seen this year, who's ready to step up and what additions they need to move forward that isn't a quick fix but is in the long term good of the organization. If things go as planned, next year is when some type of winning expectations can be put on the club but right now, that's just fools gold, this is not a playoff team or even near good enough to become one this year.
  18. Dude did it really take this long to figure this out?? KA and Granato all but admitted this prior to the season.
  19. Happy & Healthy Thanksgiving Everybody. I hope you all have a great day.
