  1. he makes some really good points on the broadcast though. I'm thinking this remark was made by Bieksa. Hey, they played the game, they know what goes down behind the scenes.
  2. As the talking heads on SportsCentre said also: "these players are young but have had a few seasons at the NHL level. They now know how the game is played at this level and unfortunately, it may fall back on the coaching". Not sure if it was Bieksa or Luke Gazdic etc. who mentioned that, but it is the truth. Also, it is the GM who filled the starting roster with all that youth and not enough vets if you want to play "the age of the team" card.
  3. Whhoops! My bad, he'll figure it out! It's mjd1001!
  4. It has everything to do with the management group and IT'S OWNER- not to mention a management group that cannot recognize a decent hockey coach or tries to reinvent the wheel with these cutting edge coaching hires that continuously fail. (for 13 seasons now!!!- let that sink in: 13 SEASONS NOW)
  5. What's incredibly silly is 13 seasons of the worst hockey management in professional sports. A complete and utter joke that seems to get compounded with each approaching season. The fan base has an absolute right to be very very upset and demand better. The Pegula ownership era has been completely forgettable and a disgrace. I for one wouldn't mind seeing him give up ownership of the hockey club to someone who actually cares about it. No more platitudes from this owner and lip service.
  6. My question to you is this: Most of us on here have been fans of this once proud hockey club since its inception or since the 70's (such as myself) We have seen wonderfully talented players and some truly magical moments here. A vibrant, thriving arena experience and electricity on game nights. Perhaps you haven't had that? We have had Sabres clubs that weren't all that talented but came to the arena and worked their ***** off every night (The first Nolan era) They were a pleasure to watch and spend money on. It would be nice after 13 excruciatingly long seasons to get that back don't you think? Do you as a Sabres fan , NOT DESERVE BETTER???!!!! Of course you do!!! Demand better!!!! Stop accepting mediocrity or all you'll get is mediocrity. YOU DESERVE BETTER!
  7. Oh my God YES!!! Is this even a question after 13 of the worst seasons in professional sports??????
  8. Good for Cozens to answer the bell at least! There's hope for him yet!
  9. Hate to say it (actually I dont hate to say it anymore) YES, THE SABRES NEED A NEW OWNER- one who actually gives a **** about this hockey team! Not one that pays it "lip service"!
  10. Seriously, is this even a question anymore???? ******* A Right it's coaching!!! Nice guy Donnie has to go.
  11. Don has to go for next season for any semblance of credibility from this ownership group. If he remains at the helm, there will be no positive significant change in this club's performance. It will be more of what we've already witnessed.
  12. and neither do bosses like Kevyn Adams and Don Granato. That point has been proven over and over and over again. Time for all of them to go! I'd easily give Bruce a chance instead of rolling it back with Donnie G. for yet another season.
  13. Well, unfortunately for GM KA, he's carved out his own corner of the 13 year drought and I can't see the drought changing with him wearing the GM cap.
  14. and can you imagine this organization running it back with Donnie G. as head coach and Kevyn as GM? Does that say to anyone "Hell yeah, I had better hurry up and renew my seasons tickets because this season is gonna be the season things get turned around!!! ????
  15. The biggest pressing problem this hockey club has isn't Jeff Skinner. It is the same problem plaguing this club for the past few years. Piss poor coach and GM!!!! Get a decent hard line coach in here who holds Skinner accountable for his ice time and maybe he becomes a better player. No coddling or excuses. A GM who can make hard decisions as well as backing the coach regarding on ice accountability, and maybe these high draft picks actually amount to something in this organization. Watched the Avalanche game the other night and the media were talking up Casey Middlestadt and how he has fit right in despite not scoring much. Funny how when these players depart and become "something" in other organizations.
  16. and I wouldn't worry too much about that. I am sure if you want to attend a Sabres game next season, it won't be hard for you to get good seats should you choose to do so. They'll be available.
  17. God bless you UPL and #### you officials!!!!!!! UPL is our bonafide #1. Good for him!!! He so deserved this one!
  18. The shootout is where we'll miss Casey.
  19. or in the shootout as will Draisaitl. God bless you UPL. You deserve better.
  20. Hahahahahahahahahhaha!!!! Because????? Because Buffalo!!!! Un ####### Believable!!!!!!!!! Get ready to settle for the loser point. I wish UPL all the best in the shootout!!!
  21. Again, I'll place more of the blame on the coaching as I do believe there is talent in this organization. But, acquiring some grit and toughness is the GMs job and Kevyn should realize this club needs this also, especially if and when they make the playoffs and the physicality really picks up while the refs whistles get put away. That's on Kevy. Again, I was hoping Donnie was going to be the guy for us, but every season comes up short for whatever reason and in my opinion, he has had more than enough time.
  22. Truth. I have never seen a club not able to finish like this one. If the goaltending isn't superb, this club gets crushed. Please if there is a God, make a coaching change at seasons end at the very least for an experienced coach. I wouldn't mind the GM getting shipped out as well after the trade deadline presser. Rubbish!
  23. My take, after another uneventful trade deadline for the Buffalo Sabres: Either there weren't many takers for what GM Kevyn was offering, or, many players that may have been moved expressed no desire to play for this club (Using a NMC if they had one), or, GM Kevyn along with TPegs truly believes that this club is perhaps just another season away from getting the playoff monkey off its back. I, for one, won't believe in anything this club does until there is a coaching change and perhaps a GM change as well. I cannot see this group, as constructed, making the playoffs anytime soon. I do believe the talent is there, aside from some much needed grit and toughness. It just needs to be coached much better and accountability needs to be emphasized. Please bring in some veteran hockey people to right this ship. What has been going on in the past decade continues to fail. Just my take.
