  1. They did make the second round of the playoffs under Green (but that was only once and it was during that horrid Covid bubble of 2020)
  2. Apparently YOU'RE GUESSING also. As you say "I think likely" (so you don't know for sure either)
  3. I do believe LaFontaine was against it. Hence his departure.
  4. I would love the assistant to be Jay McKee! He has done a wonderful job coaching the Hamilton (now Brantford Bulldogs) and all their young players. Loved how Jay played defense for the Sabres as well. This club could certainly use Jay as an assistant and get the D to take some bodies a dish out some hits.
  5. Maybe both told Kevyn "Thanks, but no thanks"? I am also open minded to Lindy. Emotion we will get and I don't think that's a bad thing. I agree, the rest of the staff is a huge key!! Let's see what New Jersey does next season under Green before you write him off. Hopefully Lindy does much better than Travis but I believe a full season under Green and Jake Allen in goal will get the Devils on the right path once again.
  6. To whom? If this truly was the case, Berube and Gallant's agents would have contacted the club regarding the coaching vacancy. Apparently that hasn't happened. I can't see Lindy getting the job over either of those 2 if they made themselves available to the Sabres organization. I'm good with the Lindy hiring but I do feel we, as Sabres fans, over value the players in the organization. Let's see what Lindy can do with them or we see who stays and who gets shipped out for next season. I'm not completely 100% sold on the players in the organization. Some will bloom, others will fail.
  7. I really really hope Lindy is the guy to get this club back in the playoffs. I feel a bit apprehensive at this signing. My personal preference would have been Gallant or Berube but I did love Lindy once. I am afraid if this fails yet again, it will tarnish his history as Sabres coach and the club goes another season of no playoffs. I wish Coach Lindy all the best this upcoming season. Really hoping for "the old Lindy magic"! For all I know, maybe Gallant and Berube's agents already declined that their clients would come to Buffalo and I don't think Brind' Amour is leaving Carolina. God bless you Lindy- here's hoping for the best!!
  8. I'm talking about having any faith in the organization getting the correct coach here to get them in the playoffs, based on their previous hiring records and what the end result turned out to be = 13 seasons of failure. I hope that cleared it up for you.
  9. and we know how adept this organization is at hiring "the right guy"! 13 seasons strong!!!
  10. Truth! I was hoping he would be "the guy"! He is a good man who can develop young talent. He may just not be suited to head coach positions.
  11. I'll take Gallant as well!! Just give me someone experienced please for the love of God!!!!
  12. He will become the new Head Coach!!!!! Surprise *****!!!! LOL!!!!! While I'm kidding, it does worry me he isn't axed like the others!!!
  13. Totally acceptable after a 13 season **** show of mismanagement! Do you even comprehend what an embarrassment this once proud franchise is? Do you even remember the good old days of professional hockey in Buffalo? Completely acceptable from the fan base in my opinion.
  14. I do see more fire in Dahlin. I believe the losing and not making the playoffs is truly starting to get to him.
  15. he makes some really good points on the broadcast though. I'm thinking this remark was made by Bieksa. Hey, they played the game, they know what goes down behind the scenes.
  16. As the talking heads on SportsCentre said also: "these players are young but have had a few seasons at the NHL level. They now know how the game is played at this level and unfortunately, it may fall back on the coaching". Not sure if it was Bieksa or Luke Gazdic etc. who mentioned that, but it is the truth. Also, it is the GM who filled the starting roster with all that youth and not enough vets if you want to play "the age of the team" card.
  17. It has everything to do with the management group and IT'S OWNER- not to mention a management group that cannot recognize a decent hockey coach or tries to reinvent the wheel with these cutting edge coaching hires that continuously fail. (for 13 seasons now!!!- let that sink in: 13 SEASONS NOW)
  18. What's incredibly silly is 13 seasons of the worst hockey management in professional sports. A complete and utter joke that seems to get compounded with each approaching season. The fan base has an absolute right to be very very upset and demand better. The Pegula ownership era has been completely forgettable and a disgrace. I for one wouldn't mind seeing him give up ownership of the hockey club to someone who actually cares about it. No more platitudes from this owner and lip service.
  19. My question to you is this: Most of us on here have been fans of this once proud hockey club since its inception or since the 70's (such as myself) We have seen wonderfully talented players and some truly magical moments here. A vibrant, thriving arena experience and electricity on game nights. Perhaps you haven't had that? We have had Sabres clubs that weren't all that talented but came to the arena and worked their ***** off every night (The first Nolan era) They were a pleasure to watch and spend money on. It would be nice after 13 excruciatingly long seasons to get that back don't you think? Do you as a Sabres fan , NOT DESERVE BETTER???!!!! Of course you do!!! Demand better!!!! Stop accepting mediocrity or all you'll get is mediocrity. YOU DESERVE BETTER!
  20. Oh my God YES!!! Is this even a question after 13 of the worst seasons in professional sports??????
  21. Good for Cozens to answer the bell at least! There's hope for him yet!
