This is actually another reason I bitch about this club. I remember going to both the Aud and HSBC as it was back then (maybe even Marine Midland) Sold out games!!! Atmosphere way better than you get in Toronto! The place would shake at times, it was electric and you felt good about being a fan. To see game nights now (tonight being the exception of course) with maybe a half filled building and usually more of the opponents fans. It is so incredibly sad and disheartening. Also to realize that another generation of what could be young fans are missing that experience or just don't care is so criminal. I am angry with myself for swallowing what Terry Pegula was selling when he first came over and seeing what has become under his tenure. What you see tonight is what I fondly remember and yeah, it hurts.

Believe me, as a Sabres fan since the 70's (yup, I'm old) with closets full of Sabres gear, I remember when this team used to be the model of what a smaller market hockey club could be, and when Leaf fans were envious of what the team " down the highway" was capable of. It is nothing but a laughing stock under this current ownership group and an embarrassment of a professional sports team. It pisses me off big time. Everyone should be piling on as an entire generation of kids will have zero interest in this club. I could be apathetic if that suits you better. Players do not want to come here, that is a hard truth now, the part about many having Buffalo on their no movement list is now a very sad reality. Yeah, I hope you're not too disappointed.

and seriously, they did change the goalie. Not sure why that messes with the Sabres but they need to shed that monkey. Buffalo has to get a more physical lineup, you can see what would happen if and when they ever make the playoffs.

Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! This is the Hawks! Read some of the posts here tonight. Sure its nice to get a win but look where this team stands. Yes, there are posters on here who believe this club (after tonight's victory, should they hold on) can get right back into the thick of contending for a playoff spot.

To dial back the delusional hopes of some on this group that after a couple of wins against bottom feeders, this club is playoff bound and maybe with some confidence, a contender. Seriously?????

I'm telling you, wait until the real contenders come knocking, do not get sucked in by this group yet again. I'm a Sabres fan, but no way wins against the Isles and Hawks ( both of whom they should definitely beat) are getting me to think this club is close to being a playoff contender.

What a miserable piss poor defence on this Sabres club. You could smell the tie coming when Utah came out with more jam. Now Utah has the lead. I'm sorry, player personnel needs to change. Many of these guys we value just aren't cutting it. At least not here for whatever reason. Not winning with this group. Once the opposition turns up its intensity, this club folds and it is so predictable now.

I think you have absolutely nailed it. The GM must go very very soon or there is no hope turning this franchise around.

Well, after this debacle, when you thought it couldn't get worse, this club ups the ante! I've thrown in the towel on this season already. i really thought things would turn around this season but no way. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Go Bills go!!!!!

That needs to be seriously addressed for next season. The D is shameful and weak.

And unfortunately, as of US Thanksgiving, the Sabres (once again) are on the outside looking in to the final playoff slot. Unless they can seriously put something together by, or after Christmas, the Sports Centre cutoff doesn't look good for these guys. Maybe they can be one of the teams to buck that trend but to be honest, nothing I've seen up until now leads me to believe this is going to happen. They beat teams they weren't supposed to and crap the bed against teams they should beat. NYI on deck and yes, the Sabres should beat them. We'll see soon enough.

Losses to Columbus and Montreal were games the Sabres were supposed to win and they didn't. It's a wash.

Some on this site don’t believe the Thanksgiving benchmark “is a thing”. I agree with you that it absolutely is. Not many teams (and certainly not this one) turn things around so much that they end up making it in after being on the outside by that point (at least not without a significant change in either coach or player personnel). Also known as the Sport Centre Cutoff. I hope the Sabres are there or very very close at cutoff time.

God bless Lindy. ( aside from that one little stretch where they lost to Columbus and Detroit) They are starting to look more "matured" if you know what I mean. I hate the overseas crap that Buffalo started their season with (and I hope they don't do that again for several seasons) so I don't count those dismal performances. They just look different now under Lindy than they did under Granato (and I love what I'm seeing!!)

Plus, give him some time with Lindy coaching him. In Ruff we trust!

To me, this game seemed to show that Lindy is rubbing off on the players. Their breakouts, passing and positioning is much stronger than under Granato. Defense still has occasional lapses, but I'm sure that will get worked on. So far, nice to have Lindy back behind the bench. You can see the improvements. (just my opinion). Good move to ride UPL until he needs a rest. He looks like a bonafide #1 and he was winning. Keep going with what's working! Dare I let myself get excited about Sabres hockey once again!!! But it's a better October than this fanbase is used to in recent times! I'll take it!
