If we are into late April and he is not signed then I start to assume the worst. Right now I assume they have a hand shake deal on terms and amount. The deal will be officially signed some time after the CBA allows him to get the 8 years with the Sabres.

My twitters are excited about tonight's d-pairings with this news.

But have you every fished with a woody? ?

So who is making room for this?

But we shouldn't have to. Getting the *C* on a sports team shouldn't be the PC thing to do for this team. Everyone knows it was the *thing* the team had to do, but everyone also knows he's not the leader.

The team does rally around him. Early in the season he got into two fights in one game IIRC, the teamed rallied for a week on that. They are in desperate need of a true leader, weather the leader wears the *C* or not is immaterial.

Trade: Ryan O'Reilly to St Louis Blues

The way we win this is not by Tage being better or as good as ROR. He's never going to be a solid second line 2 way center. Those are very hard to get. If Tage winds up being a good second or third line winger with a snipers skill that is hard to find AND we get a draft pick that is at least a 3rd line guy I think we broke even. If half of the rumors are true about the baggage ROR is carrying around , then just Tage being a steady 3rd line winger is a win. -
I voted yes. Because I want to believe. I want to watch till mid April games that really matter, and not for draft position.

Trade: Ryan O'Reilly to St Louis Blues

I believe the Sabres would be a much better team if a player with ROR's stats was still on the team or added to the team in the off season. I don't believe the team would be better with ROR. I will run with a GM's instinct that there was something making the team worse that should have been better on paper. I'm sure JBott's knew the on paper concept of ROR, his stats, but his chemistry was killing the most important stat. Wins and losses. -
I'm sitting here thinking that this is logically true. But we have been through multiple winning vets and Jack is still Jack. Mario was also the owner at the time and was playing ? He alone could change any player in that type of environment. I'm not sure any combination of the rest would/will have.

I am going to stick with this one tid bid I mentioned while at the game. Skinner is more abrasive, or physical, or controlling, dominant, self imposing, will asserting, game changing, or how ever you want to phrase it than any other player on this team. If he signs a long term contract with the Sabres and the team gives him the *C*. I'm really good with that. Contract and the *C*.
