  1. Thank you, and we share the same thoughts on Darcy. I was preaching to the choir.
  2. INKMAN, I must also apologize. I re-read my earlier post to directed to you. You may believe that I was being derogatory towards your compliment of Armia. It was not my intent if you took it that way. I believe Darcy drafted many very good hockey players. They where all good skaters, with good hands , and good playmaking ability, it's just that maybe this is the one that is truly a top 6 player on a good team, as you believe he is and I hope you are right. I know I'm in a minority, but I believe Darcy did well, considering the limited scouting and budget he was afforded till his last half season.
  3. He has said as much, and I think we are all holding him to it. My patience is wearing thin and I think we all feel the same. I can sense it, as many others must reading each others posts. I keep telling myself that next years team may very well look just as bad as this years, GMTM is due his third year before judgment, but it's a hard sell.
  4. I think your right, I think he has a great chance, but you also described a prototypical Regier prospect. Not saying they (any Regier draft pick) are not , nor could ever be a really good hockey player. To me it was the greatest failing of Regier as GM, to many of the same, hoping for a different result.
  5. I have no problems with that, and understand how you've come to that. If we where in a bar I'd offer to buy the next beer and move on to the next topic.
  6. I have absolutely no arguments with all this except .. He needs to be aggressive!! Murray needs to be one of the best GM's in the league, to build one of the best teams in the league. Aggressive is considered a good trait for a GM, but one of many.
  7. Jimmy Johnson said the exact same thing about his draft picks. All the Super Bowls successes he accounted to having more draft picks than almost any other team. The more changes you give yourself to succeed, the greater the chance of success, or something to that nature is what I believe Jimmy said.
  8. NS you are kind, but please no slack, my schedule only allows a few months a year to enjoy this type of communication for a sport we are all passionate about. I may old in years and young with computers, but I neither ask nor expect quarter for posting my views, a passionate truthful answer is always the greatest response. If you can fill it with sarcasm, a few digs, and a little comedy and I will bow to your greatness!! d4rksabre...I totally agree, it's all Ennis, he has earned everything this year almost on his own on the worst team in the league. I just think it's more than a coincidence that Nolan is coach when he finds his breakout season.
  9. It's been called a "system", but I think it's more a mentality, defense first. or It's simply, five men up the ice on the rush, five men back down the ice in their respective lanes. Either scenario is not good for skating playmakers, the Ennis type. Probably why Ruff has/had the tag of offensive talent killer. The players he was given dictated the system. Rolstan (even worse than remembering names is my spelling) in my opinion was even more system first type of coach, the players hated it and gave up. What is most surprising to me is that Hodson has not shown something, anything, of what got him to the NHL. It's obvious why he is a healthy scratch, the coach just wants you to skate and make plays, do what you do and do it good. And he ain't done squat...
  10. I don't think Ennis ever forgot what he did to get to the NHL, I think it's more the previous coaching staffs tried to adjust him to a "system". Their systems made players like Ennis "think" to much, be in certain spots on the ice, defense first type mentality. Which keeps below average teams in games and a better change at winning, which is what a coach is paid to do, give their team the best chance to win. Nolan doesn't have that restraint, he's not expected to win, so he just lets players play. Perfect for players and GM's especially this time of year, you want a chance to be traded to a playoff team, just play your game the best you can and see what happens.
  11. Sorry, emotions got the best of me, you both are totally right. Spock type logic right and it's impossible to refute with anything other than an emotional response. I don't hate the Leafs as a team so much as I hate the fans that will invade April 1st. And you are both right, a win could doom the Leafs to another decade of mediocrity, hanging on to that eighth seed and the draft pick that comes with it.
  12. During the Dallas game they high-lighted Weber's play again, showing multiple replays of him, are the Sabres shopping him? If he is playing his best hockey right now then the timing is perfect, personally I like him, but see him as 7th or 8th defensemen starting next year. A bubble team like Dallas could sure use him, he would be in a top four pairing there, how much does Murray ask for back?
  13. Last night looks like games from December...facing a back up goalie with a .8? save percentage....corsi number at end of game negative twenty something for the Sabres... Sabres goalie could easily be first star of the game for each loss (nhl win).... Benoit and/or Mess are healthy scratches. One note that I took from the game, they highlighted Weber's play for at least the second game, nobody has talked a Weber trade, are they shopping him?
  14. Just piling on the bad news, someone give us a positive!!
  15. Wow, go 15-1 over the last month, and still, one weekend off and it could be the Sabres are ousted from the CHL's #1 slot. Tough, very tough league!! The worst is Mess and Benoit are out, making a CHL win more elusive.
  16. I miss Lindy's post game comments, Nolan since he got hammered for the pee wee comment is just too vanilla now. I hope the Sabres come with the effort level they had the last 2 games and it will be fun to watch!
  17. Iggy appears to be a passenger on a lot of chemicals, but your ability to find unique clips that I would never see if it were not for you is great!
  18. Of course! I can't believe I didn't think of that.
  19. I'm missing something, It usually takes me a while to decipher Yuri's sayings, I thought I understood this one, and it was a positive thing. But then NS had this and I'm once again needing a translation....
  20. I'm alright with those scenarios. I was assuming that it was being implied that inserting Meszaros was trying to improve the chances of a CHL win, which I will say is much better with Meszaros, but I was hoping that wasn't the teams reason behind the move. I still have some fan dignity, and I need to deal with that during the Tank.
