It was the Heritage Classic, an all Canadian team game, held every once in a while. I guess it’s not promoted in the US. The networks are not interested. It was a good game. Interesting locale, Mosaic stadium, football stadium in Regina Saskatchewan nearly halfway between Winnipeg and Calgary.

Cozens with 17 pts in 13 games while Pekar has 20 pts in 13 games. Alexis Lafreniere is leading the QMJHL in scoring with 36 pts in 15 games, not bad for a 17 year old. Quinton Byfield is doing the same in the OHL with 29 in 15.

If the Sabres are in the playoff hunt and Scandella is still playing well, I keep him for the playoff run. How much would he bring back? Does he push another team over the top, making the team regret the trade? The team chemistry could be permanently disrupted. If Pilut or Gilmour could play at Scandella’s current level it could happen but we know how important depth is in a playoff run.

RK seems like a well spoken, intelligent man. He could probably speak hours on numerous hockey topics.He understands analytics and gives them proper weighting. I think he has simplified the message to his players and remained consistent with his plan. Repetition has made the players trust the plan and play instinctively. My opinion is that he is a great motivator and team builder who lets his staff to deal with the small details. He seems to have Ted Nolan version 1.0 buy in from the players. RK has made a difference, I’ll have a double Kool Aid on the rocks. 4-2 Good guys, Dahlin with 2 points on the PP. Let’s go Buffalo!

A number I am impressed with is a +13 goal differential after 9 games. Next best in our division is 4.
