I admit I wanted Rossi, due to position. I wasn’t upset with the pick, I had seen both play a lot in the OHL. Lundell was advertised as Barkov light. Solid two way C with a limited scoring ceiling. Looks like that was a decent description.

Yeah, positivity is tough when you are on a losing skid. I would walk in and kick the garbage can, scream at UPL/Comrie to make a f*****g save once in a while. Tell VO he is in the press box until he grows a pair and tell Bryson that his only option is glass and out then change, if he dresses. Wouldn’t work with these guys.

KO has definitely lost a step. He also lacks creativity so other teams just angle him to the boards and he occasionally bulls through or loses the puck. Even the cycle game is tough for him because his foot speed and hands hold him back from winning one on one battles. I like Kyle but as I’ve said earlier his leadership for the young team was good for learning how to be pros. However, when the time comes to win or compete late in the season, he has only played 24 playoff games in 16 years. Girgs still has game but if he wants to move on it may be good for both sides. Bring in some playoff hardened vet who will be tougher than Girgs in order to defend teammates. Not a goon, but a guy like Goodrow or Coleman when they went to Tampa.

Sorokin played last night vs Columbus, good chance the Sabres face Varlamov. However, is it Comrie for the Sabres?

If I was a player I would wear it but I wouldn’t be upset with a teammate who doesn’t. Shunning him isn’t part of inclusivity. It seems like the media is making more out of this than the fans.

14G and 20A. I think he can still get to 20G and 40 points is definitely possible. He’s had some ups and downs but that is a good rookie campaign.

Lots of D in the second round plus the Sabres have two picks. I like Reinbacher or Ryan Leonard where the Sabres might be picking.

This is going back a ways but Mario Lemieux scored 133 goals in 70 games in the Q during his draft year. Ray Ferraro scored 108 goals in 72 games in the WHL. Guy Lafleur scored 130 goals in 62 games in the Q. He had 103 goals the year before. There may be more but Bedard is very impressive lapping the WHL as a 17 year old.

I prefer the Blue and Gold but at this point my superstitious side says ride the Goats.

There are no highly rated Dmen in this draft like 2022. A Dman may not get picked until the teens. I don’t see any of them with Jiricek’s all round skills and size. Sandin Pellikka and Dragicevic could match his offense, but they lack defensive ability. Sandin Pellikka is kind of small too. Reinbacher is similar in size and skating ability but he is behind Jiricek’s offensive skillset. He is holding his own playing pro in Europe so he may closer to the NHL than the others. Gulyayev and Simashev are Russians who could go in the first round. I don’t know as much about them but they don’t seem like high end players. Oliver Bonk and Cameron Allen are two more RHD but will probably go in the second round.

Nice to get a win. I can’t believe they beat the Devils yet lose a lot of games to weak teams. One target that hasn’t been mentioned much is the over/under of 77.5 points that was available at the start of the season. Did anyone bet on this? I think the majority of people were in the over camp. They hit on 5 of my 6 hopes. UPL the only miss, big surprise.
