  1. Ullmark had double hip surgery in 2015. https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/scars-ullmarks-hip-surgery/t-277437090/c-5386449
  2. Good comparison. Sharp was sometimes 2C, sometimes 1RW, sometimes 3LW and an important special teams guy. If KA and DG want 3 lines that can score then you need guys like this.
  3. Hanifin would be an upgrade. I am over the LHD/RHD thing now. Get Graves as a UFA and have 5/6 D play LH. He played with Greenway and Tuch at the USNDTP. DG would know him.
  4. Would NS boy Ryan Graves move the needle for you? IMO that is the guy KA should target as a UFA.
  5. No stats but they faced Shesterkin, Saros, Sorokin, Vanacek and the like at the end of the season.
  6. Career high in points. Previous best was 63.
  7. 1st star of the game. Nadeau gets 1G in a win. Komarov +2 in a win. Lindgren +1 in a win. These are all wins in game 1 of the second round.
  8. Next year, ever hear that before?
  9. Tell him to get used to it
  10. Off topic but I want the Bolts to break the Leafs hearts one last time, then fade away.
  11. Like us, they’ve seen enough of those two. KA may have an inkling of UPL’s value around the league. Definitely not a big return, but some teams may think they can make something of him and inquired.
  12. You’re in for a run of entertainment. The last 12 years have been brutal but the next 10 are very promising. If I lived within 2 hours of Buffalo, I would be buying.
  13. Getting top 2 ice time as a rookie is impressive. Going forward he will be making fewer errors, getting stronger and more confident. He tilts the ice for the Sabres. Lock him up while he is cheaper and there is uncertainty with the cap. I think his offense increases to 45 points next year and he might settle into the 55-65 point range in a few years.
  14. More true than I like to admit. They’re not the kind of grit I want. Girgs doesn’t hit much and does not get involved in scrums to defend anyone. He’s all hustle, like a Latvian Locomotive, but no hands and doesn’t create much. KO has lost a step, his only play is trying to squeeze between the D and the boards where he ends up dumping it in or losing the battle. He is still big and strong enough to shield the puck but cannot get away from defenders. KO wants to get involved and protect teammates but he knows he is one concussion away from more damage. I like Kyle and he brings leadership and some intangibles but his on ice effectiveness just isn’t there. The only way I see a return is to try for 1000 games and fade away when others are ready.
  15. Mark Stone was injured but he probably could have played earlier if they weren’t easily in the playoffs. The timing prevented them from having to perform some kind of cap gymnastics that Dubas can only dream about. I hope the league does something to tighten down on this. Kucherov came back for game 1 in top form.
  16. Crosby, Letang and Malkin need to share the blame. They thought they could make another run at it instead of moving on. I’m not sad for them but they delayed the rebuild. They will be one year older next season. Lemieux sold at the right time.
  17. Would Letang be an option for the Sabres?
  18. The only move that doesn’t cost much in terms of assets is to get Varlamov as a UFA. The main repercussion is losing Comrie/UPL to trade or waivers.
  19. TSN just showed Anderson’s kids reading the lineup card in the dressing room.
  20. Goatheads record improves.
  21. Go home Sens, you’re done. Our rebuild is better than yours.
  22. KO definitely has lost a step.
  23. I’d prefer him doing it to Matthew Tkachuk but any toughness from him is good
