  1. What they should’ve done is protected Toker over Ulmark. That shiny decoy would undoubtedly been picked up because Seattle went on a goalie signing frenzy. With Ulmark selected, we would’ve retained everyone else. They should told Ulmark he signs a contract or he gets exposed. Instead, we got played.
  2. Who 3 years ago ever thought a Jeff Skinner appreciation thread would pop up in the future? Or that we would be comparing Tage Thompson’s importance to Josh Allen?
  3. Many bonus internet points for the McKelvin quote attempt, but it was “…point blank period”.
  4. From what you wrote, it seems we are doing the opposite of Detroit. We are allowing our young players to go through their growing pains, even if it leads to losses. No blocking young players here. Detroit seems to be taking responsibilities away from them and giving them to average or above average vets. Time will tell which is the right, but their approach seems to be what the NHL has been doing for decades.
  5. Maybe the Sabres should borrow them and do a throwback night sometime.
  6. We definitely have other PPG forwards than Tage, I just see Tage as the glue and the player who demands the opposing teams shutdown line. I’m not sure the kids line could absorb the heat of being the top line. My guess is that Cozens would be shifted between Tuch and Skinner. It may work. Krebs would probably center Quinn and JJ. I hate thinking about it.
  7. Another way of putting this question, because I’m Mr Positive, which injury would be more hurtful to the Sabres, Tage or Dahlin? I’m gonna go with Tage.
  8. A true Tank Commander. He should be proud.
  9. Maybe it’s a message that we won’t be missing much once we trade these 2.
  10. One great thing about DG and KA is patience. When we were collectively screaming at the TV screens, they have been patient and it has paid off. Let’s ignore the development of Tage (which is the ultimate show of patience and reward) and look at Dahlin and Cozens. Many on here were at wits end with Dahlin prior to the All Star break last year. Remember all those shorties he was giving up on the PP? We were looking at him as a reclamation project at that point. We were a little bit more patient with Cozens, but many (myself included) were wanting much more last year (including a stint in Rochester). He would have a few games of brilliance, then disappear. Even this year, we were wondering if he still had the ability to hit the back of the net, but our patience has paid off. Krebs is not doing so well, but Donnie’s going to keep him in the games to learn from his many mistakes. Sooner or later, he may respond or maybe not and take the Mitts route. Either way, I don’t see anything as being too unusual right now.
  11. The braces are a give away.
  12. How about each team got what they needed and it’s going to work out for both of them. Is that allowed?
  13. It’s definitely not the time to move on from Krebs. He has at least another 2 years. Mitts was drafted in 2017 and Krebs in 2019. I’m not as worried about Krebs. I agree no one is going to give a 1st for Mitts. I see more of a Nylander trade. A player that needs a change of scenery for a player that also needs a change of scenery.
  14. We only pay attention to analytics when they support what our eyes see.
  15. If they put the Bills game on the Jumbotron, I’m sure a lot would go. Would be fun.
  16. True. That contract is horrible.
  17. He needs a change of scenery. Sign him and assign him to Rochester.
  18. Great goal by that guy. Maybe we should give him a 7 year extension.
  19. I think it means Power had a good game. Sometimes players have great games
  20. Given her psych issues, I feel very bad for her. But what did the Canucks do?
  21. I still don’t think we need to send that many assets out for an oft-injured player. He’s a great player when healthy, but he’s not what we need, which is a right-handed Muel clone.
  22. I didn’t realize he had such an extensive injury history. The most games he has played in his career was 68 and this was his rookie season in 2016. I don’t think I would be giving up much more than a 1st for him. Maybe a 1st in 2024 and an above average prospect, like Rosen or Johnson.
