  1. It is snowing like a mother at Bristol Mtn. There was damn close to 8” by the time we got home. Oh well. Sitting in the tub with my new hat and a cold one that’s getting colder by the minute! It was very invigorating shoveling the tub out in nothing but an Amerks tuque and slippers. God I love the country.
  2. Good game. We got a little rowdy after Baptiste’s goal. Amerks are the only team with just one regulation loss on the road. That’s loopy. The ride home sucked but they were giving away Amerks tuques. Always makes a bald guy happy to get a free hat.
  3. Skating has been going well. I’m close to where I left off. My extra weight gain seems directly proportionate to the tightness of my turns. I’m getting way more bight on my edges which has made stops something to practice. I actually had a dude around my age stop and comment on how good my footwork was. That made me feel pretty damn good. My feet are telling me they remember the footwork for backwards. I’ve played around with a bit and almost believe them....giggidy.
  4. Stupid issue with my neck/head/shoulders. I’ve been hitting the weights hard s the last 6 months and have had some solid success. Only problem being needing weight beyond what my frame is intended for, causing terrible intermittent pain in my neck that occasionally spreads to my head and wipes me th F out. If I were smart I’d lighten up, but I’m friggin hooked. Same old addiction. I get hardcore, get an injury, try to work through it and fail. I’m doing squats and skating tomorrow. Working through it until I can’t. Until I officially fail.
  5. I really like the guy. I’ve followed his career since he was drafted and he’s not only a good goalie, he’s a good person. Always keeping it light hearted. A few games ago Beautiful Erica asked him in his first star of the game interview “what was key to winning this game?”. He responds “well we got more goals than they did.” Love it!Seriously though, he needs to get back to Rochester ASAP. There’s a Cup to win.
  6. I would personally drive them both back to Rochester if that’s what it takes.
  7. FIFY
  8. If not excited, then faithful. If not faithful, then hopeful. If not hopeful, then all hope is lost and you need a new team.
  9. Oh stop. It’s only natural to be dissatisfied with this team, but let’s not get all middle earth with the “all is lost” mantra. If you paid attention to what Guhle was doing, you’d see a kid that was following a system he has been accustomed to following. On Jack’s second goal, Guhle was heading hard to the net, just he would do in Rochester. He’s called up to get a taste of the speed here. I’m guessing he’s seen as a future and was given “development” time. He’ll replace McCabe when he’s traded.
  10. What does Gene Wilder have to do with this?
  11. Shhhhhhhh......Guhle.
  12. This is my wife’s wishes as well. Me? I’ve been meaning to sign up for the body farm. Let those maggots go to town!
  13. Loses confidence how? In himself? In the Sabres? Linus seems like a very stable guy. I doubt he’d go from being one of the top goalies in the A to a shattered man in the N just by having a few losses on a tire fire of a team. He’s so positive that I’d doubt he’d even lose confidence in the organization. Take a deep breath, everyone. It will all be ok. I also expect both players to be back with the Amerks by the weekend. Jbots isn’t going to gut a winning team and disrupt development just to appease disgruntled fans. Both guys are needed in Rochester and they’ll be back to chase the Cup sooner than later.
  14. He got it on NFL Mobile!
  15. He’s a wind turbine tech on a remote site. He lives in a camper and can’t pick up the affiliate and no local bar will show the game.
  16. My brother in Snyder, TX can’t find a sports bar, stream, channel or anything to watch and he’s a huge Bills fan. Anyone have ideas? He’s more than willing to cough up the cash but there’s nothing. I even checked the local CBS affiliate and there’s no mention of the game. Wtf Texas?
  17. This game is all frosting for me. These guys have gone light years beyond what I expected this season. No matter what happens I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.
  18. The mother fox on my property got two of my neighbors chickens last summer and brought them back for her kits. One black chicken and one white. With all the feathers scattered around it looked like I’d held a crazy voodoo ceremony..... Bills are in the playoffs sooooooo.....
  19. My point is pretty simple. You commented on my post about attendance with a complaint about ticket prices and a failure to market the team properly. I returned with my belief that the problems with what go on with attendance at BCA are a direct result of piss poor play(remember that term?) by the city of Rochester. You threw in SMG(who I mentioned manage other venues with much more success) to which you responded with more Amerks=garbage comments. Why would Pegula keep a team in a city that have fans who do obviously despise them? Can’t you relax and enjoy the run this team is on with out bitching about them? If your looking at this years Amerks and not seeing an owner committing to excellence on ice then your blind in one eye and refuse to look through the other. BTW. They whooped the phantoms tonight. Linus with back to back stellar performances!!
  20. As well as Theater on the Ridge and CMAC. City still owns the building and makes the decisions on repairs and upgrades, and is falling short of the biggest pro team owner’s expectations. Amerks are the only faithful tenant. I believe everyone else is behind on the rent. They could sell Uncle Terry the building and let him spend the coin but they continue to own and mismanage....I’m sorry...hire SMG to mismanage it.
  21. d4rk is right. I’m married to a box office manager. Trust me. Walking up to the window is the cheapest and most reliable option. Unless you’re bringing 9,000 ppl, I wouldn’t worry about it.
  22. I clicked the link for tickets on the Amerks site and found plenty available for $16 in 214. Cheapest section I know of.For tonight’s game.
  23. Too expensive? My seasons last year were $8/game. If I stayed in those seats again this year it would have been $10/game. I’m at $13 where I am now. I believe best seat available price is $15. As for marketing, I’m sure it’s easier to take the team to Buffalo if you keep fan interest at bay here in Rochester. Lovely won’t spend the money needed to make the place respectable so Daddy Drillbucks is going to move them. Want an example of how poorly the city manages the place? There wasn’t any friggin soap in the dispensers in the bathrooms last night! None! Makes me wonder how the employees are supposed to follow the mandate for hand washing? Hell, there’s never been hot water in the bathrooms by 210. You can’t really blame the Amerks for the way the city manages the building. I’d buy a cheap seat at the box office and sit wherever I’d like. If you’re not on the aisle the usher won’t bother you.
  24. ...but....hockey, eh? I know the dude who runs ticketing at the arena and although he’d love a big crowd, he was not surprised or dismayed by the turnout. Expecting another small crowd tonight...
  25. One of the smallest crowds I’ve seen since the Florida years. Fun game though. Guhle second star of the night.
